Waccoe saying 2nd keeper almost done - thought to be Zetterer or Sam Johnstone.

2

18 Aug 2026 11:21:20
Leeds Live says we're interested in FC Midtjylland striker Darío Osorio.

3

17 Aug 2026 18:53:55
Latest backup GK linked is Micheal Zetterer.

1

17 Aug 2026 19:20:14
Zetterer doesn't see himself at all as a number 2 .. He wants to only be a number 1.

Played 22 league matches last seez, so a good whack of seez as number 1.

Whereas, he would be a permo benchwarmer at Leeds, unless gawd forbid, there's an injury to Jimmy Trafford.

So Baz Likelihood Rating zero out of ten.

4

17 Aug 2026 19:20:39
Bring back Karl. We miss him.

6

17 Aug 2026 19:50:53
I'd say we are 99% likely to sign Zeterer.

Baz clueless.

4

17 Aug 2026 20:47:54
We shall see, LLF. If I am wrong, so be it.

0

17 Aug 2026 21:17:09
Darlow can stay where he is.

4

17 Aug 2026 21:29:27
Zetterer wants to be no. 1, but Eintracht are looking for a new keeper. They looked at Atuboll at Freiburg, but he's too expensive, so they are looking for a cheaper alternative. Zetterer has the choice to be either in Germany or the PL, but he doesn't have the option to be no. 1.

3

17 Aug 2026 21:51:26
Good information post, Dune. Indeed Zetterer does want to remain/be a number 1 gk.

It would be logical to suggest that Zetterer would have much, much, much more chance of dislodging as number 1 a cheaper alternative for Frankfurt (that's assuming they even manage to recruit one in limited time remaining) , than he ever has in dislodging an England international uber expensive £45 million goalie in Trafford.

If he, unlikely, does come to Leeds, he therefore has done a 180 and no longer wants to be a number 1. Just. 💰

2

17 Aug 2026 21:54:12
Darlow was good for Leeds Corkey.he would make a great number 2 as well as a.good number 1

And

Longlostfan. do please feel free to explain why and how you know Zetterer is 99% likely to join Leeds United. 🤔

2

18 Aug 2026 07:37:25
Because, Baz, you seem to have a bad record, and when you say it's not happening, it often happens.

1

18 Aug 2026 08:03:51
Don't rate his stats from last season, and he's on a decent chunk around £60k a week. That's excessive for a number 2 who will hopefully only get a game in the cups, or if Trafford is injured.

2

18 Aug 2026 08:55:37
There is talk of Sam Johnstone. I mentioned him, stalker in the window.
Great experience and probably a bit cheaper.

2

18 Aug 2026 09:00:35
Indeed, Dave. His stats aren't good. Didn't know he is on £60K a week either. It's a big no thanks, and Leeds surely won't be signing him.

LLF, yep the signing of Jimmy Trafford was unexpected, esp at £45 million, a big percentage of our transfer budget.

1

18 Aug 2026 12:45:50
Johnstone is only recently back in training after a lengthy lay off for shoulder surgery. Bit of a gamble if he's the choice.

17 Aug 2026 14:33:37
Football Insider report we may be interested in Bilal El Khannouss again, although the same article downplays it and says it is unlikely.

1

17 Aug 2026 18:20:04
No thanks, Alf.

4

17 Aug 2026 19:21:20
What Dune said.

2

17 Aug 2026 11:45:37
Piroe to Wet Sham could happen today. Loan with obligation to buy (hearing £15m) .

4

17 Aug 2026 12:36:02
A win win win imo.
Good price for us with 1 yr left.
He needs game time as Saturday proved.
He'll fire them back to the EPL.

3

17 Aug 2026 13:36:16
Not good if Wet Spam don't get promoted because he will walk for Free !

3

17 Aug 2026 13:39:49
We do have an option for a further year, but if this is the best opportunity we have to get the fee we want then it's probably worth a go. If we don't find him a move this year, he leaves for free anyway.

0

17 Aug 2026 13:41:00
Pretty sure they will, and he walks for free at the end of the season anyway.

0

17 Aug 2026 14:16:19
If he's off, surely that says we have an incoming forward?

3

17 Aug 2026 15:26:30
He'll have to sign the contract extension before signing on loan for them! I.e., we activate the 1 year option that is supposedly in his contract already.

1

17 Aug 2026 16:26:52
Insist on the 15 million now. West Ham are not short of a few bob after their summer sales.

4

17 Aug 2026 18:08:00
He's our player, our terms surely: 10 million up front, 4 million if West Ham gains promotion. Who looks after our deals? I would sooner let him for nothing next season than be dictated to mot.

2

17 Aug 2026 18:27:20
Parrot going to Betis after West Ham's £17m offer was rejected. Betis are strapped for cash, so they might have to sell. We've supposedly looked at Deossa and offered, allegedly, nearly £7m, which has been rejected.

He's a bit different to our current midfielders, so if there is any interest, one will go, probably AO. That could be a smart move, as Tanaka cost under £4m, and the profit would be a welcome addition to our squad ratio.

2

17 Aug 2026 19:28:01
Letting him go out even on loan benefits us for SCR because his wages are off the books and we probably get a loan fee. If we keep him at the club, then that reduces the amount we have to spend elsewhere, and if the obligation is triggered, that benefits us more next season for SCR.

1

17 Aug 2026 21:25:35
Ridiculous statement, Alf.
If the obligation is triggered, you say?
What if Joel gets injured, if it's appearance related, or what if West Ham don't get promoted?
It's a big gamble to loan him out, especially with the obligations being mentioned. I'd rather take a few million less now than take the gamble down the line.

3

17 Aug 2026 22:08:33
These are the risks you take, Formerly - he could get injured training while awaiting a move if Wet Sham don't want to pay upfront. I trust the owners are selecting the best options available to us.

1

16 Aug 2026 12:09:26
Deossa, Pax and Elvedi
Supposedly penned in for medicals tomorrow?

Perri goes in a player plus cash.

We get Pax, they get Perri and 24 mil.

Deossa 10mil plus add ons.

Any truth in this ya think?

M. O. T

A. L. A. W.

2

16 Aug 2026 13:16:12
What about signing a 15 to 18 goal striker, bro.

6

16 Aug 2026 13:52:53
Nar, no way we do 3 deals in a day.

3

16 Aug 2026 14:28:06
Just been on Sky Sports. Perri is going to Torino.

All nonsense.

3

16 Aug 2026 14:51:06
Perri off to Torino, who have upped their price if they take up the option. Bournauw going to Hamburg on loan with a £4m option (😮) , and Piroe in talks with West Ham. Let's hope they don't score this afternoon - it might make them keener.

3

16 Aug 2026 15:08:04
Some confusion re Piroe's potential transfer. West Ham couldn't reach agreement for Parrot's switch, so looked elsewhere. Some of the Dutch sites are suggesting that a £15m offer was rejected by Leeds, and the new offer is a loan with an obligation to buy, but probably for a larger fee.

That might involve certain criteria being met, such as promotion.
With Bowen and Solomon feeding balls to him, then JP could have a good season.

5

16 Aug 2026 15:53:46
West Ham are a biggish club and surely a shoe in for promotion, and can afford good wages. This would likely be a great move for Piroe. Take £15 million all day long.

3

16 Aug 2026 17:35:58
Perri, like Bournow, is only going on a loan with an "option" to buy, so we get diddly squat upfront, and there is no guarantee that they won't take up the option, and we'll have 2 players we don't want to have to find new clubs for in 12 months' time.

4

16 Aug 2026 18:23:15
Flemming, 2 goals for Burnley today against Wet Sham. How about offering them Piroe plus £1M in exchange?

4

16 Aug 2026 18:53:02
He had a good game. On another day he'd have scored four. He keeps going, and even after missing, he took the penalty.

4

16 Aug 2026 20:24:02
So Flemming's transfer fee value, from a Burnley perspective, likely increased today by a couple of million at least.

3

16 Aug 2026 23:02:16
Transfermsrkt rates Flemming at £12M and Piroe at £10M, so Piroe plus £2M should be do-able.

1

16 Aug 2026 23:14:15
Elvedi highly likely, but I haven't heard anything on the other 2. I doubt it.

2

17 Aug 2026 08:07:45
A turbo runner after fish N chips.

The Tough of the Track. :)

MOT.

1

17 Aug 2026 08:22:41
Think Burnley are looking more at £20m plus add ons, which isn't bad, considering his return last season in a poor team and his form at the beginning of this.

1

17 Aug 2026 09:56:35
£20m a bargain, I would say.

1

17 Aug 2026 09:57:55
15-18 goal striker Baz? Absolutely, but who did you have in mind under £50 million?

Obviously, that would be fantastic if we had that sort of spending power, but with our new additions and a fair wind, I believe DCL is capable of 20 goals this season.
Fleming as back up would be the ideal scenario for me, though, based on our current financial situation.

3

17 Aug 2026 11:31:15
The other thing about Fleming is that, when he originally joined Burnley, he'd been playing as an AM for Millwall (and scoring goals) , but Burnley gave him the striking role. He gives us an option, which is probably an upgrade on the likes of BA.

3

17 Aug 2026 13:07:58
Class, ..£ 50 million?

Sir Paddy Bambam, 17 EPL goals 20/21, £ 6 million.

Rodrigoal scored 15 EPL goals in 22/23. £27 million.

2

17 Aug 2026 15:00:15
And pie and mash was tuppence apeny. There are rough diamonds out there, as Bournemouth and Brentford have proven, but it's not an easy find, as everyone would be doing it.

4

16 Aug 2026 07:36:30
Timothy Weah following a fair number of our squad on Insta if that means anything.

4

16 Aug 2026 11:40:23
He has exceptional taste in footballers, Alfred?

4

16 Aug 2026 13:35:55
Alfred. Funny. Always thought he was the they call me Al. 😬
Alfredtuppa. 😂

16 Aug 2026 23:05:39
I take my name from the comic strip 'Tough of the Track' where Alf Tupper would regularly run 'the toffs' on the mile. I don't think they elaborated on the full name, so don't know if it was Alfred or just Alf. Surely, some of you older chaps remember the Greystone Harriers man?

4

16 Aug 2026 23:15:10
I do love Paul Simon's Graceland, though, but Call Me Al is a tad overplayed, imo. So many great tracks on that album.

2

17 Aug 2026 07:21:36
Great, great album, Alf! And, I read quite a lot of Alf Tupper comic strips, tho I think it originated well before me, and I can't recall the comic it was in. Was it Dandy?

1

17 Aug 2026 01:44:02
Saw Paul Simon and Sting in open air concert where they sang their best hits for two hours. What a night that was.

1

17 Aug 2026 09:07:35
Boy in the bubble is a great track

1

17 Aug 2026 09:35:12
Apologies, Alf. I had always assumed you were just Alf, given your Alf Tupper site name.

Remember fondly the Alf Tupper comic stories.

Blame my predictive text, Alf, as my father was Alfred, but hated his name, and insisted people call him John, his middle name, for the majority of his life.

2

17 Aug 2026 09:55:27
It was the Victor that I remember the Tough was in, but he may have appeared in others, I guess (maybe Tiger?) .

No apologies needed, Class, my handle is only light hearted, really, so impossible to offend. My real name, as some posters already know from meetups, is Rob.

5

17 Aug 2026 11:41:56
Who would have thought Timothy Weah would generate such an outpouring of nostalgia. Great to hear, sounds like we're all on the "Just for Men" and struggling to remember yesterday.

I remember when I was a lad, stuff. Remember when my dad gave me a three-rung ladder so I could see over the scratching shed wall in the early seventies, those were the days, my friends. MOT.

2

17 Aug 2026 12:19:22
According to Wikipaedia,
"Alf Tupper was 18 years of age when he first appeared in Rover in 1949 and he continued his adventures in Victor in the early 1960s. He lived with his Aunt Meg in Anchor Alley, Greystone. The house had one room upstairs and one room downstairs; Alf's bed was a mattress on the kitchen floor.

He was employed as a welder working in Ike Smith's welding shop which was located under a railway arch. His wages were £1 5s (£1.25p) per week of which he paid his Aunt £1.2s.6d (£1.12½p) for rent. This meant he had 2/6d (12½p) for himself"

2

17 Aug 2026 13:41:34
Imagine what you could buy with that, JR! Fish and chips and running shoes mainly!

2

17 Aug 2026 14:30:11
When I was 9 or 10 (circa 1958) , one could buy fish and chips for 2 from Annies Fishery in Outwood for half a crown (2/6 or 12.5p) . Happy days.

3

16 Aug 2026 07:33:10
Something very big allegedly cooking for Leeds that is very hush hush. Even ITKs on WACCOE are keeping tight lipped about it.

7

16 Aug 2026 09:34:27
In other words, they know no more than any of us.

7

16 Aug 2026 11:49:47
Adding ITK to my name too, JR! 🤣

2

16 Aug 2026 13:36:34
Brighty. 😆😂🤣

1

16 Aug 2026 14:08:44
Hilarious, Brighty itk. Who would have known. 😂 👍

1

16 Aug 2026 07:31:14
Grealish. 👀

4

16 Aug 2026 08:58:44
Proved last season to be great for Everton if fit. Would wages be an issue though?

1

16 Aug 2026 11:50:27
Would love Grealish at our club!

4

17 Aug 2026 13:42:26
Yes, wages could be an issue, but on loan, I imagine we would ask Citeh to cover a lot of the weekly fee.
