Julian Brandt's father, who is also his agent, is allegedly at Thorpe Arch according to Sky News.

Everton sniffing around Rooney now as well. Barcelona have set us both a 10 day deadline; supposedly.

Some noise on WACCOE that we may be poised to move for Trafford.
One of the more reliable posters on there saying he has aa good feeling about today and not just for Tariq. He also liked a post where someone mentioned Trafford.
17 Jul 2026 14:27:22
We may differ on this, Alf, but "having a good feeling" and liking someone else's post that mentions Trafford are not exactly what I'd call reliable info.
17 Jul 2026 15:26:57
That's the spirit. Let's now set parameters and boundaries for what constitutes reliable info.
Spoiler alert. I'll be predicting us to do well this season, and certainly to stay up. We'll be safely above all three promoted teams, based solely on blind optimism and a reasonable amount of alcohol.
The alternative is too depressing.

Some reports about this morning that Brandt is preparing for a move to the EPL. As far as I know we are the only club that have made a contract offer to him.
17 Jul 2026 13:40:14
Seems no European teams have made serious efforts to get him. Might be his demands re a signing on fee and wages are too high for them.
17 Jul 2026 13:46:33
He's definitely been speaking to a few clubs that are in Europe. We have offered a fairly decent wage packet, though, by all accounts, so maybe that will end up being telling.
17 Jul 2026 14:29:21
I may be wrong here, but wasn't he hoping to find a new club in the Champions League?
17 Jul 2026 14:43:09
He has, just with a one year delay. 😉
17 Jul 2026 14:47:11
Too old. Move on.
17 Jul 2026 16:33:38
Depends on his leadership skills on whether he is "too old" for me. If the desire is there, regardless of age, I'd take him. But if it's not, then I'd move on too.
16 Jul 2026 07:02:09
Schmidt to Young Boys done according to Graham Smythe - fee in the region of £2m so no loss on the books which is good.
16 Jul 2026 04:21:22
54 mill for Trafford. Seriously? Says we can afford it too 😳.
16 Jul 2026 07:54:09
There's absolutely no way anyone is paying £54m for Trafford. City paid £27 for him last year. I'd expect he will go for £30/£34m with a sell on clause/buy back.
Someone's been on the crack pipe if they think £54m.
16 Jul 2026 13:54:40
I can see him going somewhere - such as Newcastle - for the region of £45m.
15 Jul 2026 16:59:25
According to Ekrem Konur, Leeds United are keen on West Ham defender Konstantinos Mavropanos. Fee would be around £30m.
15 Jul 2026 17:56:06
He's right footed, I think. We need a CB who's left footed, or at least highly two footed / competent playing on their unnatural side.
15 Jul 2026 18:05:08
£30m? He's valued at EUR18m. As mentioned, we need a left footed cb, Tarik being the guy. I could see Mavrapanos being a replacement for Bornauw, who seems to be heading out the door.
15 Jul 2026 19:40:43
Spot on AW, he'd be a good addition to the squad, but not at £30M. If it's felt we need another CB, I'd make it clear to them that £15M is our absolute max offer.
Take it or leave it. It's most unlikely he'll be playing for Wet Sham next season cos he won't want to play in the Champo, and they need the money, so play hardball with them.
16 Jul 2026 07:01:24
Valued by whom AW? Please don't tell me the made up nonsense on Transfermarkt
16 Jul 2026 19:38:15
The German Transfermarkt is based on fans' valuations and can be distorted by club loyalty, especially among the bigger ones. However, its data is still scraped by most of the Premier League clubs' analysts because they believe it provides a benchmark that is reasonably accurate, and is used in conjunction with their performance data.

Naaaarwich have reportedly enquired about DJ's availability. I know; they can't afford him.
15 Jul 2026 14:11:43
Tbh, he feels like an albatross contract now to me. Major injuries last term, wrong age for a pace merchant. If they offer £5m-7m and take his wages I'd call it a good deal.
Maybe eat a bit of his contract, but add a clause that, if they get promoted, they cover the entirety of the outstanding contract.
15 Jul 2026 14:31:14
1000% Ealing. Get rid. Face facts. He peaked. And even that wasn't great.
15 Jul 2026 15:08:55
I read that Norwich are going for it this season, so I wouldn't be surprised if they bid 8-10 million for DJ even though they splashed out 8 million on the Sheffield Utd player.
15 Jul 2026 15:45:35
Ealing's proposal works for me! I'll email Delia with our terms!
15 Jul 2026 16:36:31
Personally, hope DJ stays at Leeds United this seez. ..He deserves a run injury free..I expect he will do so.
15 Jul 2026 17:57:45
He feels like a marquee signing for Birmingham or more obviously Wrexham to me than Norwich, but who knows.
14 Jul 2026 23:57:39
Villa interested in Stach.
15 Jul 2026 06:29:50
I don't see Stach as irreplaceable. He had a good season, but it depends on the coin.
15 Jul 2026 06:30:26
I'm surprised that at this point, they're the only ones! He's gonna be very difficult to hold on to.
15 Jul 2026 08:38:04
Villa have lost two midfielders through transfer and injury, and Rogers might go as well. The price midfield players are currently selling for means we'd make a very healthy profit if Stach was sold. Enough to buy a cheaper replacement with potential, and a big contribution to the kitty for keepers, striker, Fb's and Am.
The recruitment team were good last year at keeping some of the potential transfers under wraps, and I trust we'll see the same this window. Maybe it's like a duck - not much happening on the surface, but a lot going on under the water. We can only hope.
15 Jul 2026 10:14:50
Stach got as many GA as Anderson in far fewer games, so Vile need 150 mill, which they ain't got.
15 Jul 2026 11:01:54
I'd say 75 would be ball park.
15 Jul 2026 11:44:33
Villa have just lost Tielemans, so have a place to fill, but it's interesting that they target Stach. The so-called "big" clubs have a more short term approach, and home in on the man in form.
Teams like Villa tend to have a more considered method, so if they fancy Stach, it's because they see him as a good long term investment, which is precisely why we should turn down any offer and hold on to him.
15 Jul 2026 12:58:27
Also lost Onana, who did his ACL at the World Cup, so they'll need at least two midfielders.
Villa have money problems and are concerned about breaking UEFA regulations, so they need some hefty sales. They've sold Tielmans and Watkins is supposedly talking to Fenerbache, but selling Rogers would solve their problems.
They might be looking for three midfielders by the end of the window.
15 Jul 2026 13:25:02
Turn down any approach for Stach, but do them a favour by offering to take Ollie Watkins off their hands. Much prefer him to Openda.
15 Jul 2026 14:15:18
I'd take Watkins, but it's £30m plus fee and £160k per week for a 30-year-old. I don't think that fits in our wage structure, but it's getting there.
16 Jul 2026 23:07:25
Stach would cost them 60million. Don't see Villa paying out that sum.
