What about a free agent Alf?
Some rumours about Josh Brownhill possibly?

Cheshire White

1.) 01 Sep 2025 15:08:38
Harry Wilson a go apparently.

2.) 01 Sep 2025 15:16:22
haven't heard anything about Brownhill myself. adding free agents is possible at any time as far as I know.

3.) 01 Sep 2025 15:47:47
SSN just confirmed we are in talks with Fulham for Harry Wilson.

4.) 01 Sep 2025 17:53:10
Brownhill has been in talks with Leicester, Southampton and Wolves. Looking for minimum £100k per week. A free agent so he can wait until after the deadline when deals have fallen through. I'd still take him but with lower wage but a signing on fee.

5.) 01 Sep 2025 20:02:28
Brownhill to Wolves. Done deal.

6.) 02 Sep 2025 12:39:30
Seems Brownhill hasn't gone to Wolves as reported on the Beeb. Sorry for the false info gents. Personally I would take him for us. Good player.

23 Jul 2025 10:55:23
Livakovic, age 30 Croation goal keeper from Fenerbahce for £6 million currently the latest new number one Leeds are linked with. penalty save specialist apparently so could be a decent deal but Lucas Perri also still heavily linked to us but I'd imagine he'd cost at least double that of Livakovic closer to the £15 to 20 million range.

Cheshire White

1.) 23 Jul 2025 14:17:16
Yes totally agree but his age and price wise I think is a must to get perri because we have nt had a tidy goalie since Nigel Martin, and it would be money well spent to just get the deal done.

2.) 23 Jul 2025 16:11:54
Agree JH get Perri.

3.) 23 Jul 2025 16:34:46
Six million! Sign him up. He’s a top keeper and at that price an absolute bargain.

4.) 24 Jul 2025 06:30:33
Get them both. Make them compete for the slot.

Farke's dramatic turnaround in his pro activity towards his previously rigid tactics and predictable poor game management is truly remarkable and long may it continue.

Thankfully for all Leeds fans and himself I think he has finally seen the error of his ways and has grown as a person and improved his standing as being regarded now as good enough to remain in charge and earnt the right through his own merits to spearhead our survival campaign.

Prior to these last couple of games and half a game at Man City where his transformation began he was rightly criticised for his many failings so don't let's conveniently forget that and try and sweep it under the carpet as some posters on here have chosen to do.

Infact it is the overwhelming pressure from supporters like myself to change his ways or else be replaced that made him as a last resort play a more direct style that proved us all to be correct for suggesting so but his changes against Liverpool were his call and I was very impressed the way the team adapted with twenty odd minutes to go to a 4 4 2 and was cheering from the rafters like everyone else when we equalised.

So I am perfectly able to say I was wrong to say that Farke will never be an EPL quality coach because since the second half at Man City he has shown he is but before that he certainly wasn't but now it appears we are watching a new Leeds this season so what's past is past and we all move forward, united and enjoy this exciting new revolution.

1.) 08 Dec 2025 17:40:38
Excellent post Cheshire, spot on.

2.) 08 Dec 2025 20:07:19
Excellent post CW, I decided to take each game as it comes, (cliche I know) once it became clear board weren’t going to act.

Think Citeh was a turning point, despite the defeat and in a nothing to lose scenario Daniel has stumbled on something.

Agree, it’s very much credit where is due in Daniel flipping the formation again to earn that tremendous point Saturday.

But irrespective of whom we are playing the current attitude, level of fight, must be standard maintained to season end now.

Same players and same coach, all responsible for those simply abject displays at Forest and Brighton.

The change in formation and a returning AO timely substitutions are all down to Daniel being proactive, the atmosphere was unbelievable against Liverpool, but we have to maintain this level of performance away from home now.

Hopefully Namecheck injury is not too serious I thought we missed him on Saturday so we definitely need reinforcements in this area in January, I’d take Simms or Wright, although Coventry unlikely to play ball even Maja at Brom if we really don’t have much money, it seems a season for size, strength.

3.) 08 Dec 2025 20:34:20
I don't disagree but still can't understand why it took so long for DF to decide to change tactics, when virtually everyone on here was screaming for change, take BA off put subs on earlier etc a lot were calling for his head and yes I was one of them, I suppose only time will tell if keeping him or changing coach/ manager was the right choice.

If DF keeps up his current form I will stand up and be counted and apologise, however at this moment I am not totally convinced.

4.) 08 Dec 2025 21:24:47
I suppose the only true test Oldbri will be if he sticks to this new formation and it keeps us in the prem.

At which point, I'll be joining you in standing up to be counted!

5.) 08 Dec 2025 23:06:17
Agree all above.
He should have been sacked. But he wasn’t.
He has now earnt the right for more time.
But the last two games needs to be the norm from now on. Different formations.

In game management. Tactic etc. be versatile.
Same with players. Leave it all on the pitch. Every game.
We won’t win them all but I now feel confident we possibly will win more than we lose.

03 Dec 2025 17:05:07
So we'll find out shortly after 7 pm tonight if Farke will swallow his pride and stick with the far more suitable 3 5 2 for our squad that most Leeds supporters were calling for a couple of months ago and he was forced to implement as a last resort against City or stubbornly stick to his passive 4 3 3.

Im fearful Farke would rather die on his 433 hill than play 352 which would be an admittion that Leeds fans knew better than him and his wilful blindness or tactical ineptitude has probably cost Leeds about 8 points this season imo.

You can lead a horse to water and all that but if pride and ego mean more to Farke than what is best for Leeds United then he certainly deserves to be replaced.

Cheshire White

1.) 03 Dec 2025 19:55:19
I suggest that a small select group of Leeds fans take the position of Leeds coach and do away with Farke and for that matter any other coach, who needs needs one when Leeds fans clearly know more.

2.) 03 Dec 2025 20:04:06
I believe he will change from start tonight, to go against it would be lunacy now especially if we get turned over

C'mon boys, we are rooting for a win this evening.

3.) 03 Dec 2025 20:38:03
O " Baz " P ?, repeat, repeat repeat seemingly that's all Baz used to say,

Let it go OP it's renting a space in your nut at this stage ?.

4.) 03 Dec 2025 20:46:39
Lol OP, sounds as if like your Murphys, you're not bitter. PS he took the hint.

5.) 03 Dec 2025 20:59:42
Well you guys can make other posts look like they perfect sense so long as it fits your agendas.
Don’t give a monkey’s nut.

6.) 03 Dec 2025 21:04:26
5:3:2 it is, or 3:5:2 depending on circumstances. My only reservation is that we're short of width up top unless both wing backs push forward, in which case we'd be light at the back and vulnerable to quick breaks. Maybe DF is half expecting it won't work so that then he can say "there I told you so".

7.) 03 Dec 2025 21:07:56
I see what you are trying to do in your responses to my posts Chris, by undermining them to make it look like I’ve got some issues.
Doesn’t work mate, just makes me laugh at some of the pure nonsense that's spewed out on here at times.

You can suck it up like a a lemming if you want, I won’t, that goes for you too Vid.
Disappointed in you fella.

8.) 03 Dec 2025 21:46:28
Jeez Op, I suddenly realised your being serious .
It's a game of football OP, there's far worse and far more important things going on in all our lives

There's no ulterior motives or subliminal message in my replies

?

I shall leave it there now , as this has now clearly gone beyond differing opinions with you.

9.) 03 Dec 2025 21:50:02
OP, no offence intended mate, but you can't have a blatant pop at people for viewpointing a course of action that warrants respect from Saturdays performance, then get peeved when you get a reaction. It's all banter and we are all Leeds after all.

10.) 03 Dec 2025 21:51:53
Ed is your clock still on British Summer Time, I put a post up just after 8:00 pm, and it came up timed as 21:04:26? Earlier posts seemed incorrectly timed also.

{Ed033's Note - ok, i'll look into it

11.) 03 Dec 2025 23:12:34
Yeah well everything looks rosier when we win eh.
Enjoy your evening.
I guess it will be business as usual the next game we lose.
The reactions of the likes of yourselves who just feel so entitled and expect us to win every game is a little tiresome for me.

Serious about football, you bet your life I am.

I've been Farke out since Forest away and after Arsenal away along with a massive majority of Leeds supporters seeing the make up of our squad strengths, couldn't understand why Farke didn't implement a 5 3 2 system which we all saw finally how effective it was against Man City 2nd half.

I was left hugely encouraged despite another loss but also quite angry with Farke for being so stubborn and resistant to a system that I think if it had been used after Arsenal away would have the side on another 7 or 8 points so for that reason Farke still deserves to be replaced.

Gary O'Neil is the new favourite which I think is an improvement on Farke's stubborn ways and i'd feel more confident with O'Neil picking a side and formation that compliments the squads strengths than Farke who i'm not convinced after Saturday would stick with 3 5 2 and his post match comments make me nervous he'll revert to 433 if not against Chelsea and Liverpool but soon after.

Farke out this week whatever the result Wednesday and we have a far better chance of staying up.

Cheshire White

1.) 02 Dec 2025 09:08:25
How long will it be if Gary O’Neil became manager that he will be accused of being too stubborn in his methods and tactics.
Any manager if selected to replace Farke will ultimately lead Leeds United back to the Championship in my opinion.

I’m not saying Farke has a future at our club but he I believe is the only one capable with the players we’ve got, to survive this season.
It would be a huge mistake to sack him.

2.) 02 Dec 2025 13:04:12
That would neither placate fans, nor be anything more than a short term stop gap. Totally pointless imo. Nice guy, and quite capable, but we need something more long term. The same people who wanted Farke gone after promotion would want him out within 6 weeks and use it to slag the board even more.

3.) 02 Dec 2025 15:23:57
Im not saying Gary O'Neil would be my first choice but of those rumoured compared to say Bo Svenson or Stevie G or even Big Ange as I doubt Ange would play a more direct 3 5 2 system then for me Gary O'Neil with his 2 successful stints at keeping Bournemouth and Wolves up has the experience and know how to give Leeds a better chance of survival than Farke as I think O'Neil would continuely play the more direct system we finally saw 2nd half against City as opposed to fleetingly used by Farke which after Liverpool I suspect he would go back to his passive possession style that we clearly don't have enough EPL quality players to make that successful points wise.

I also think O'Neil is a safe capable and competent set of hands to get us promoted straight away if we do end up getting relegated although I still believe this squad can with the more direct system get to the 38 point safety mark.

But that's my opinion and of course there's always an element of risk and doubt changing a manager but I personally think Farke has taken us as far as he can and a change is urgently required in the best longterm interests of Leeds United whatever the results Wednesday and Saturday.

Thanks Daniel and all that but time for a new chapter/ journey and hopefully a successful one.

4.) 02 Dec 2025 18:26:20
Totally understand your perspective Cheshire!
Its just, for me anyway, the clamouring is for a major upgrade, and for all his strengths, G o'N is possibly only a slightly different option with a slightly better PL record. That said, if he came and did keep us up, he'd be god like in my eyes!

23 Nov 2025 21:08:27
So 3 more defeats to go until Farke is relieved of his duties unfortunately as the narrow home loss will still not wake our owners up . even a new half decent tactically competent manager like Gary O'Neil already installed over the international break instead of going through this torture would have got Leeds a win today imo and who knows a point or two in the next 3 games but unfortunately our owners are incapable it seems of urgently appointing a new pro active coach so we wait for the inevitable to happen and then I expect it will be Jesse Marsch 2.0 to take over.

Cheshire White

1.) 23 Nov 2025 21:23:19
To be fair Cheshire, my late nan could have installed the belief and tactics to have beaten Villa today.

2.) 24 Nov 2025 11:54:17
She certainly was Ed.

22 Nov 2025 00:53:42
So conflicted on Sundays game as I hate to see Leeds lose but I truly feel in order for Leeds to have any prayer of surviving Farke needs to be replaced immediately but with the owners having really disappointed me with their backing of the manager after the Forest misery following on from the Brighton and Burnley shocking defeats and countless examples of truly bizarre game management then it looks like it's going to have to take a heavy home defeat and a home crowd's wrath for the owners to finally wake up and realise that Farke has taken Leeds as far as he can.

I think the odds of survival with a new manager are still slim but at least it's worth trying a new approach and going down with a fight instead of a whimper which sadly under Farke is what we are seeing

And of course the owners need to step up too and pull our all the stops to strengthen the squad in January and try and prove they are worthy of owning an EPL club because the evidence so far is they are not.

Cheshire White

1.) 22 Nov 2025 03:57:04
I think a defeat v villa will likely see the axe come crushing down. I just think they should have done it two weeks ago and utilised the break rather than give new bloke baptism of fire. Makes zero sense.

2.) 22 Nov 2025 06:57:24
There are multiple ways of looking at it. Yes bringing a new manager in now could have given time to work with the depleted squad (as most players on international duty) but then the next 5 games results could leave the squad demoralised and any hope of a 'bounce' gone. Or maybe the team don't have much hope of getting anything from the next 5 anyway and it wouldn't effect them.

One thing is for sure, the 9ers won't get rid of DF unless they get someone they want as a replacement. They won't just get rid for the sake of it at this point so if their targets aren't available then DF stays on regardless.

Ivan Toney and Harry Wilson would be a very eye catching couple of signings in January and maybe Kalvin Philips on a loan deal or a free as cover for one of our midfielders and if needed in central defence as I think Bielsa used him well in that position and was surprised Pep didn't try and do likewise at City where sadly his form and confidence has fallen off a cliff but maybe it's worth Leeds trying to help KP make a comeback.

O'Neil is not what you'd call a sexy appointment and no doubt it will split the fan base but imo his successful EPL survival experience would give us a far better chance of staying up than Farke and his stubborn self sabotaging 433 passive possession style which i'm sure it is only a matter of time before he reverts back to this.

O'Neil i'm certain would recognise instantly like the vast majority of Leeds fans how to get the best out of the limited creative quality the squad possess which is setting up in a more direct 3,5,2 system and even if we still go down we'll be going down fighting and I genuinly feel O'Neil is just as capable if not better than Farke to get us promoted out of the Championship straight away.

If it's Carlos Corberan then for me okay he's better than Farke tactically and more adaptable but I think we're unlikely to get more than about 33 points so relegation feels inevitable but getting relegated on the last day instead of 5/ 6 weeks before.

The owners will be able to control and manipulate easily CC and keep fobbing us fans off and next season in the Championship we'll be a certainty for the play offs so it is what it is and quite underwhelming and so disappointing to be almost certainly be back where we started with imo owners not fit or deserving to own Leeds United and I sincerely wish Red Bull would buy them out and then we can begin to have realistic dreams of becoming a top 10 EPL side at least.

I don't believe The 49ers have a clue what they're doing and suspect they're leaking these rumours to take the heat off Farke and themselves, buying time and have no real appetite to sack DF as he is their plyable yes man.

I think it's more likely they are struggling to find another sap that will accept their tight fisted ways but if it is true, which waiting for affirmative action from our owners is like pulling teeth, then a large majority of Leeds fans will be relieved Farke's stubborn ways and crazy substitutions are no more, wish him well and I'm sure he will soon find a new Championship job that suits his capabilities

Time will tell if the damage already done by the owners as well will mean we will face him in the Championship next season too.

Just thinking when a club "sounds out" potential managerial successors that what that means is the potential new manager or managers approached via their agent will give a yay or nay to their interest in the job but in our current situation with Farke teetering on the brink and rumoured to have 4 more games I sincerely hope those manager/ managers rumoured to have been approached have been instructed to watch carefully these next few games, maybe in a nice Groucho Marx disguise at the back of the West Stand so as to not draw too much attention and also looks back at our previous games so when or if the new manager arrives he has a full "Bielsa-esque" dossier style knowledge of the squad and can implement his, hopefully more successful style immediately.

I admit I have been Farke out since Forest away because of his stubborn refusal to play the system many of us have been desperately wanting him to play because it was so bleeding obvious we have the players to perfectly execute this system. We saw that in all it's glory for the very first time for 90 plus minutes and what a fantastic performance it was.

So by hook or by crook Farke has managed to remain in situ and finally and probably not without stubbornly kicking and screaming in the process he has seen for himself what our players are capable of in a 3 5 2 system.

As long as he carries on playing this system then because the players still seem to have a good relationship with him then i'm prepared to forgive his tactical blunders from the past that have cost us many valuable points and give him credit for managing the game well tonight and therefore I think there's no reason to cause major disruption by replacing him anymore and hopefully a new wiser Farke has been born that can carry on being in charge of many more victories like tonight.

Our owners must make a change immediately.

Tomorrow morning I want to hear them thanking DF for all his efforts in getting Leeds promoted but unfortunately the direction of travel needs to change as results and performances have been way too far below the standard we expect and there is a strong feeling we need to change this before the rot truly sets in and we find ourselves stranded in the bottom 3 which we feel we are heading their now and so this is the right time to give a new man the best possible chance of success during what is undoubtedly a challenging
run of fixtures.

Thank you Daniel you will be forever remembered at Leeds and warmly welcomed back but all good things must come to an end and we wish you well in the future.

Reading around other forums and on social media there seems to be one out of work candidate that is considered good enough to keep Leeds up and it's Brendon Rogers. Would he come to us though?

Our owners would have to convince him there are significant funds for him in January.

The owners strike me as a group of short sighted individuals who are too concerned with lining their own pockets and those of their investors asap and God knows how many there are, and consequently have been economical with the truth over PSR limiting their spending to £100 million.

The figures simply do not add up because near the end of last season before clinching promotion there was a reported figure of £30 million PSR
limit spend had we not got promoted so as we did get promoted and the tv revenue is £150 million and then there is the clubs match day revenue, commercial revenue from sponsorship etc you can clearly see and draw the conclusion that iether the owners have kept funds back for a new boss to spend in January or they are sticking excessive amounts that should have been spent on an extra player or three n their grubby little pockets and BS ing us all.

I accept the owners will want a return but the first season back in the big league like Sunderland have shown needs every available penny spent on squad strengthening and not the short sightedness I mention cashing in like a kid in a sweet shop.

Either way by not backing Farke this summer for whatever reason has now started to come home to roost and looks a stupid naive and probably greedy strategy instead of just showing the ambition they needed to like Sunderland and resisting their desire to fill their pockets to the maximum straight away and holding out for 12 months when their golden goose was more likely to be a lot fatter instead of what is starting to unravel into a inevitable return to the Championship and much slimmer pickings again.

Obviously not Corkey because we would acknowledge we had a coach who knows what he's doing at this level and knows how to get the best out of this squad instead of the opposite we saw today, even a spirited narrow defeat would have been acceptable but not today following on ftom the limp effort away at Burnley.
