Falling apart again!
04 May 2025 08:13:19
Thank Darlow for that. ??.

Incredible run in Alf, but we’ve got to stop singing that bloody song…. are falling apart again……otherwise we may hear it a little too often in the epl.
Alf you said Wednesday for the mystery signing we’ve made?
Not a goalkeeper, is it ( (desperately hoping) a loan player being converted to a permanent signing?

What Class said . I loathe that song and it will be used against us by other EPL fans this season
And what Brighteth said Karl Darlow plus the Mes benched divine intervention by Marathe.

I do agree I loath the song but if it going mg to be used by opponents it’s good that we also use it irionicky to deweaponise it, if that makes sense.

A fantastic season finish after the wobble.

100% hate, loathe and detest that self deprecating song, it only welcomes negativity to our club, get rid of it immediately.
Probably every Leeds fan is very eager to get rid of Meslier, I would say don’t underestimate still his potential and i would say there is still a 50/ 50 chance he will be our number one keeper in the premiership.

You’re correct Berm, Farke said something very similar in his press conference yesterday, that he hoped by securing promotion and winning the title clearly demonstrated THAT song has no relevance whatsoever to this current side.
Thought he spoke brilliantly throughout yesterday and reiterated the importance of creating and maintaining this team have been together for only one season, and yet have met, exceeded every objective.
It is against differing circumstances, but for myself, yesterday moved Farke to the top table of all time Leeds United managers, his efforts this season under more pressure than any other coach in the division, are simply incredible.

I like the song, it shows that Leeds fans have the thickest skins of all. Not only will we take the mick out of other teams, we will do it by using their own chants!
How many teams or areas of the country have that kind of mentality?
I had a Boro fan, in Boro, say to me "elland road is falling down, daniel farke is a f***ing clown". He was lost when I replied "aya, 100 year old ER could do with a refurb and Farke does make some funny decisions".
04 May 2025 12:40:33
Mez inspired finish. Hats or gloves off to that man. Simple.
Manager and the rest of the squad. Take a bow.
04 May 2025 12:42:58
Yep. Hate it. Don’t see the point. Not funny whether winning or losing. Stupid.
04 May 2025 12:14:04
In Bielsa's season we had a disappointing draw v Luton [at home], 7 games from the end and everyone thinking we were about to implode again, but we went on to win the next 6; we did the same again this time.
04 May 2025 13:09:53
Because no mez ani. Simple. Manager realised the team had no faith in him. That was the up or not decision which thankfully eventually he had the balls to make.
04 May 2025 13:38:12
And Struick's injury meant Ampadu into the back four, which has also contributed to us looking a lot stronger defensively.
04 May 2025 14:47:20
Nothing to do with Meslier, Farke had the noise of the fans and media to deal with and had to protect Meslier by dropping him.
Darlow had very little to do in the games he played, probably made only two saves of anything anywhere near worthy of mentioning and two flaps that he was lucky not to have been punished with.
That was it!
The song is supposed to be a sort of self deprecating and I guess fans do see it as a bit of a laugh, but I personally don’t see the funny side of losing or failure especially when it involves my football team.
04 May 2025 16:17:24
Could also be because there was no Rothwell or no James…that’s as relevant.
Not forgetting Mes was the keeper for Bielsa’s run in…or was that because no Casilla?
04 May 2025 17:25:47
OP. Just to clarify, you think Daniel Farke took meslier out of the team to protect him? Not the fact he was making numerous errors which was costing the team valuable points, and if he continued to play him, would have more than likely seen us in the playoffs again. You say darlow had very little to do with, apart from a couple of saves. well the thing is, darlow’s handling of routine crosses and apart from a couple of balls he came out for that he maybe should have stayed put, just settled the defence and also settled the supporters down. The thing with meslier is his concentration level. He switches off regularly, hence the inexplicable errors. He’s actually got worse as he’s got older, which is really unusual for a goalkeeper. He was far more solid when he was 19-20 years old.
04 May 2025 17:28:04
Not a keeper and not a loan. Young international player so more potential than proven. Will let you know more when I get the green light to do so!
04 May 2025 18:03:39
I won’t deny he’s made a few errors, but I still don’t think It was that bad. All keepers will make some errors from time to time.
He is technically a far better gk than Darlow but the tension created towards Meslier left Farke with no option but to drop him. I honestly believe if the enormous fuss had not been stirred up around Meslier, Farke would’ve kept him in place as he already stated you don’t drop a GK like you do a outfield player.
