What an amazing league the championship is to watch, irrespective of whether it’s stronger, weaker, the same as last year, it is so much more entertaining than the EPL.

Of course I get play at the highest level, but I believe if you asked a Southampton or Leicester fan which season they would rather be watching?

And unless RB buy Leeds United and pump billions into the club that top six drawbridge is well and truly closed.

I blame Pep for all of it really, cannot criticise the guys records and has won all over the world, but has had billions and billions at his disposal.

The Citeh vs Spurs game Citeh were woeful at 3-0 down ten minutes to go and they’re still going sideways back and forth with multiple risk free meaningless passes.

The Championship has lowest amount of goals scored this season, and I’m blaming Pep for that too, possession based football is ok with mega stars who can actually hang onto the ball but in the Championship (Saints in EPL) you will eventually be caught out.

My biggest bug bear across all UK football including England team, the pass to the most forward player on any wing…. there’s a cross on…strikers are hitting the box…. and…

And it all stops! The player is told no, unless there’s a 100% chance of scoring turn around and give it back to the centre backs who can use the keeper if necessary, dear lord spare me Pep ball, give me naive attacking basketball type Championship type games like yesterday.

Even better when we win!

AO best midfielder in this devision? I would not swap him for anyone, Hamer included.

Pep a genuis.
Not his fault the transfer kitty, his wage or his players ability.
It’s the fool hardy owners, managers and players that think they are as good.
Stupid post class.

Top post Class.

Aus . Pep a genius?

Drop him in to the Champo at the likes of Bristol City, Plymouth, Stoke and see how he gets on.

Good post Class, thought provoking and totally agree re Tanaka - what a find he has been for us.

Pep over rated.

Klop spent no where near as much and was four games away from winning more

Anyone can spend billions and win. I rate a lot of managers a lot higher than pep.

I blame Pep to for all the rain, wind, and the cold weather and anything I don’t like. ?.

25 Nov 2024 21:25:05
Almost whiteman but a proportion of the blame must also go to Kalvin Phillips and Belisa.

I’m not sure I agree with anything in this thread apart from Tanaka being a sensation.
PSR with time will change the landscape of top flight football but big teams like Liverpool, Arsenal and Man City will always be involved in titles and trophies.
Football as we know it has changed, you either like it and accept it or you don’t.

Guardiola is a great manager in my opinion and I embrace what he has brought to football as far as entertainment is concerned as much as I embraced the Master of it in Bielsa.
The reason why we don’t like the Premiership from promotion is because we don’t win so many games which is normal because we’ve just entered top flight football and we have to earn our status in it.
The mechanics of the Premiership with VAR is an ongoing discussion as to whether fans like it or not, for me it’s something that will improve with time.

Give me the Premiership and playing against the best teams any day, seeing a fixture of let’s say Leeds Utd v Liverpool at Elland rd means everything to me as a football fan and let’s not forget Man Utd.

Which game would you rather watch, Leeds v Man U at Elland rd or Leeds v Plymouth?

Totally get your reasoning OP but variety being the spice of life, I’d actually prefer the Plymouth option for two reasons really.

One, for myself, there is a finite amount of time in which I may reasonably expect our team to truly compete with our Devon opponents.

And whilst it is always great fun denigrating Ambrosia United, the reality is Mr Beckford’s magical wonder goal was some 14 years ago, in the years following we have two scraped draws and suffered five defeats including some very large defeats of 6, 5, 4goals conceded.

Now Taunton Utd have secured I my opinion, the best young coach in the world in Almorim. And have Radcliffe sorting them from top to bottom including their newly proposed Wembley sized stadium.

Therefore, other than a Red Bull type investment in substantial money and players, potentially new coaching staff?

The likelihood of a promoted side such as ourselves truly establishing themselves in the EPL after promotion and beating our dear neighbours, well, it’s getting more difficult year on year.

And for myself, I just prefer, the Championship’s free flowing football, in games when there is generally goals and excitement, where anyone can truly beat anyone (no VAR added bonus for me)

I appreciate I’m a walking contradiction as a successful exciting team as ourselves will very likely be promoted (I bet on us to be promoted as champions this season)

However, when we do go up in the absence of multiple millions of pounds in investments, for myself, it will not be as enjoyable.

Still each to their own, keeps it interesting.

Like both perspectives there fellaaaas, and I am personally torn on the subject. Love the Champo, but we have to be in the PL.

Winning is fun. hate not doing so. hated 22/ 23 EPL season worst LUFC season ever season imo. just 7 wins . lowest ever wins for LUFC!

BUT yes for at least financial reasons we must be in the less enjoyable EPL.
