If it is true that when Roofe leaves we are going for Kent my opinion is that is an excellent upgrade. Much as i liked Roofe Kent has a lot more potential and is a class act waiting to happen. Lot of competition for those wing berths unless Bubs has got other ideas for him.

1.) 05 Aug 2019 20:17:58
Doesn’t make sense. Loads of wingers with 1 striker in the squad.

2.) 05 Aug 2019 20:48:55
Kent can play central.

3.) 05 Aug 2019 21:31:26
So can Costa and Harrison.

4.) 05 Aug 2019 21:37:11
Think MB has ideas about a few playing up front, including Roberts, Harrison and costa. The ability to switch players from the wing to the striker role during a match can cause chaos for opposition defences, and is something I think we will see during the course of this season. Add Kent to the equation, and we can really mix it up, and in attack, we have real strength!

5.) 05 Aug 2019 21:45:20
He's no way a striker.

6.) 06 Aug 2019 06:18:33
We’ve all? ( me included) forgotten we’ve got a fella called Tyler. Hope the lad has an injury free run.

7.) 06 Aug 2019 06:53:55
While Kent is a winger, we all remember what Wenger did with that winger Henry?

8.) 06 Aug 2019 12:20:49
Yes, I do. Since when did an octopus eat a crocodile l?

03 Aug 2019 21:20:16
Rumoured we are after Colidio and Nolan from Inter. Def need some more in, not sure how long it would take to get them Bielsa fit.

1.) 03 Aug 2019 22:03:10
I read that to, don't know much about either of them so hope there upto it. I would of preferred experienced guys.

09 Jul 2019 20:03:08
Read Danny Mills reason for Pontus leaving. Its what club told him. Pontus wanted more time off for holiday Bielsa said no. If the boss says i want you back at work you go back to work. Not sure what position is with Unions and players holidays but we know Bub has a strict code he adheres to and so did Pontus. All a bit childish in my eyes but in any job there is a pecking order.

1.) 09 Jul 2019 21:40:12
It's all been badly handled in George opinion. If he wanted more time off, why was he training at all with Malmo? Why not fine the player for employee breach? Was it lucky timing then that the 🐝 came in with an offer? This has been a dispute brewing for some time.

2.) 09 Jul 2019 23:13:43
Agree George think this just helped him on his way. Could have been settled with a fine. Down to Bub this one i think.

06 Jul 2019 23:05:34
Lot of posters turning against Pontus who was a god two weeks ago. Sad to lose him but if he is out of favour and happy to go so be it. What does make me mad is we are selling him to one of our rivals for peanuts. Captained his country and one of the best CBs in the championship and he is only worth 5mill, total joke. Who are we going to replace him with. White may have been able to play alongside Pontus but not with Coops would stand no chance against crosses. Sorry but if we do not get a quality CB in this is a really bad bit of business.

Agree also Wilks going cheap if 1mill is the price. Young talented and if Lowe is worth 2-3 mill he is worth nearer 2mill whatever problems he has in his personal life, they can be sorted, i suppose no one on here got in with the wrong crowd when you were young. Said on an earlier post i was expecting one of Roofe, Pontus or KP to be sold so not too surprised but was expecting Halme to be with us if only for his height
Thing is if we had put a proper valuation on Pontus of at least 10mill it would have made sense but looks like he has gone cheap to get him out of the door.

1.) 07 Jul 2019 02:52:29
Another good post. I believe Pontus was critical of management from the January transfer window and it eventually showed in his attitude. Big boots to fill. Believe we are considering Bielik from the Gooners.

2.) 07 Jul 2019 04:48:41
I agree the price seems cheap (although that will be a profit for us) but it there is bad blood best to get rid rather than upset the depressing room. Rubbish but that’s the modern game. Mate bumped into Orta yesterday and he says we are looking at maybe bringing in 1 more. Didn’t say what position but I can believe a CB.

3.) 07 Jul 2019 04:57:32
Does the magic hat go with the sale? If so that alone has to be worth another 3 mil?

4.) 07 Jul 2019 09:17:36
I actually feel sorry for Pontus and feel some of the criticism on here and elsewhere is undue. The guy obviously got Leeds and fully bought into the fervour of the fans. He obviously also drank in the love for him from the fans and gained energy from this - presumably partly because he had been such a peripheral figure in the latter part of his last season at his beloved Malmo and during his one and a half seasons at Torino.

Whether his exclusion from the team in the playoff semi-final games was down to his reaction to the Villa goal or not who knows, but he was clearly wounded by this, particularly for the game at Elland Road, and especially following what transpired. He had probably dreamed (literally) of scoring the winning goal against Villa in the final - and why not, 'cos he almost always scored against Villa. He would probably have sweated blood in that game to have endured we got to Wembley. But yet he didn't even get on the pitch, and had to watch on with the fans as most of those picked fell apart and surrendered meekly to the loathed Fat Frank and his (former) team - including that wan**er Keogh who played a key role - being allowed to dominate in both boxes.

It's fairly easy to imagine how upset Pontus felt at all this - not just for himself, but for the fans - without seeing the pictures of him slumped alone at the side of the pitch. People criticise him for not being with the rest of the squad to console them etc. But having seen his and our dreams lost in such pathetic fashion, particularly with such mistakes made by the player specifically picked ahead of him, I can understand why he felt the need to be alone with his thoughts.

I can also imagine that there may be concerns over whether with such hurt and disappoinment he can fully reconcile himself with the management and some of his teammates at Leeds, and that is felt best for there to be a parting of the ways.

I don't for one moment think he actually wants to go to a Brentford, but that may currently be his only choice. As for the magic hat - of course it shouldn't be included in the sale, but rather be an exhibit in the Leeds United Museum. Thanks for the memories Pontus.

5.) 07 Jul 2019 10:33:05
The question is has he asked to leave is MB had enough, don't know what's gone on behind closed doors, sorry but 5.5 mill won't get us a dive 1 defender good enough, personally club should of tried to work it out, think he is no more than a lower level premier player at best, but will be a big loss if not replaced,

6.) 07 Jul 2019 11:56:03
IF the situation has broken down irretrevably the so be it. My one thought on this is that the bosses word is final however if you cannot harvest such passion (which often comes with a hot head and a fiery tongue) you are in danger in fielding a team with no passion. A team with no (controlled) aggression and ultimately a team with no stand up and be counted leaders. A team of yes men. Quite rightly if he is a cancer in the dressing room then he should be removed however a, good, manager should not let it get to that. If the situation had been simmering for some while then it beggars belief why we let Halme go? Surely his height would have been invaluable in times of need if we were to go 5 across the back. Still there is time, out there somewhere must be a Pontus clone to instill grit in the back line.

7.) 07 Jul 2019 13:28:03
Tellingly after the direby he said he’d only leave if Leeds sold him

So I suspect things were brewing

Our new style left him exposed at time but he’s better than the current level we play at

In that mad 20 mins vs the sheep we needed a leader or two. I don’t think it’s in his character to be that

Nor do we seem able to sign one

Good technical players only get to play if someone is getting their nose dirty

Which leads me on to Vinne. So sorry for his loss.

8.) 07 Jul 2019 17:32:52
He’s a character, not a leader. Love him, but you can’t have a disruptive influence in the squad.

01 Jul 2019 11:12:01
Papers still talking about QSI investment in Leeds. They want minor investment with option to buy for 75mill. Would be profit for Radz but think he may want more if we get in PL. One that will drag on.

1.) 01 Jul 2019 12:27:24
Interesting that that report mentioned that they thought that Leeds are a well run club on and off the pitch!

2.) 01 Jul 2019 13:00:18
Well we all know it it is financially sound and interacts well with the community. Getting there with playing staff and coaches top class. Think that part of it is evident for all to see.

Interesting that we would not give permission for Nessy to play in FA Cup. Maybe keeping an eye on our CB shortage, could he be back in Jan?

1.) 10 Nov 2019 20:03:14
It just makes sense if there’s an injury crisis I’d say.

2.) 10 Nov 2019 22:03:00
Daniel Ayala could be joining us.

3.) 11 Nov 2019 10:28:32
Probably true will need him to replace White, if we can not keep him when he is sold. Think Nessy probably on his way back as cover as well.

4.) 11 Nov 2019 12:02:14
We need to move heaven and earth to retain Ben White at least until May but preferably sign him permanently on an initial 8 year deal. Wondering if QSI could help? This is such a good club ripe for aggressive expansion. Eventually I want to see our stadium capacity increased.

5.) 11 Nov 2019 22:53:00
Would love to keep White, he has made a massive difference for us. Agree about stadium as well think Radz has plans approved to make it into a 50,000+ but i think you probably need more than that for the top of the PL.

03 Nov 2019 17:03:37
Good game, shame about the 40 minutes in traffic to get there with the roadworks. Once seated though was glad to see Roberts on the pitch and our luck to have Eddie out when he was so close to starting.
At last Bubs gave it a tweak and i thought it worked. We were more direst when going forward and had a lot more shots on target than usual. Harrison played a blinder where did that come from, although must say last 5 or 6 games he has steadily improved. Kp got upfield more as well as we seemed to have more fluidity about our play.
We allowed other team more possession but we managed them well. Kiko had hardly anything to do. Yes well pleased with that even Bamford had another clean sheet, lad needs to score can not go on all season like he is.
Get Pablo back, hope Harrison carries on like he is, hope Costa starts firing, think we may be having a very merry christmas.
Now Bubs give Gotts some playing time and Edmo on bench, he is the only giant we have.

1.) 03 Nov 2019 19:00:24
I’ve heard good things about Gotts but I’m assuming ya mean as a substitute? Where’ is his best position as MB seems to like him in midfield? And he also seems to prefer Shacks at FB. Answers please.

2.) 03 Nov 2019 19:23:07
Proves I was correct all along about formation because not only were we more threatening, scored more than one goal, they only had one chance at goal the entire game. Wasn't quite 4-4-2 by any means but he went for a hybrid or compromise between the two systems. He played Klich deeper and pushed Tyler the Creator a bit further forward. That's the way. Keep Tyler the Creator fit and healthy, keep this system and we will do very well in my opinion. Sounds like conceit and it's not meant to be but I believe Bielsa listened to me.

3.) 03 Nov 2019 19:35:15
I’m pretty sure Bielsa mentioned taking a few tips from you in his last press conference George.

4.) 03 Nov 2019 19:48:42
George: It was nowhere anything like the 442 you’ve been clamouring for. In fact it was absolutely nowhere near that system. But I’d it makes you feel better 🥴.

5.) 03 Nov 2019 20:06:04
Think you’re missing the tactics there cork. 442 features 11 players. Yesterday we played 11 players - see, they are exactly the same!

6.) 03 Nov 2019 20:22:14
Corky No, and never said it was but what it was a bit of adaptation or improv to fit in with the English championship game and I like that. I want to see the same set-up for each and every home game because I feel he has now found the sweet spot or if you're feeling rude G spot. G for George. G for goals.

7.) 03 Nov 2019 20:45:13
George. Please quit with the “I told you”, and “as I predicted”, and “proves I was correct” dross. Anyone can roll a dice and shout “six” before it stops. We played 3331, with the normal fluidity, and covering as people moved. Flowing football. Don’t go down the Bermo repetition route, as you also have a lot to share.

8.) 03 Nov 2019 21:36:21
Cork getting back to your question, Gotts is a very good right back, great engine gets up and down the pitch and excellent crosser of the ball. Doubt if Bubs will play him there though but to be fair the lad has a bit of class about him to do a job anywhere but for me best at RB, Shack for me would be wasted at right back. George pretty sure that was 3331 with Harrison as a sort of wing back when needed. When Leif came on sort of went into a back four. Thing i liked was players willing to get back and everyone working as a unit with good movement. Pretty even game possession wise but we still bossed it never really under pressure.

9.) 03 Nov 2019 22:04:33
Bright I don't do requests.

10.) 04 Nov 2019 10:04:46
George - I took an early morning walk yesterday from Wetherby to Spofforth along the old railway track and in the cutting near the beginning bumped into Bielsa walking his dog the opposite way. As we were passing I made some casual remark about the result yesterday, and was quite surprised when he stopped. As you know, his English isn't that great, but he said he was really pleased he had changed things up a bit yesterday. He confided that he had been at a bit of a loss as to how to change our fortunes at home, but just after the last international break he was tipped off that there was a bloke called George, a guy of integrity like himself, who liked to talk tactics on a Leeds internet forum. He had found this site and instructed his analysis guys to set to work. Not to do things by half he asked them to interrogate the record of your comments right back to the beginning of last season. This of course had taken many hours. He commented that the insight obtained from this online Guru had been very helpful and that he rather wished he had discovered this man of Genius last season, as adopting his ideas might have led to promotion at the first time of asking.
. then I woke up, and realised it was all a dream. Perhaps you should do the same, but feel free to dream on.

11.) 04 Nov 2019 11:04:30
Clueless 😂🤣😂.
George is taking on Bermos mantle of chief bullshhhhher!

12.) 04 Nov 2019 13:17:02
Clueless While you bumped into Bielsa walking his dog, I think I bumped into yours but after taking the appropriate tests I didn't catch anything. Have a great day 🤔😲😉🤣.

02 Nov 2019 00:07:27
It looks like we will be losing Kiko for at least six matches so we will get a chance to look at Meslier. Looks decent enough from what i have seen in U23s, soon find out.

1.) 02 Nov 2019 07:30:44
Didn’t realise this was a possibility. Having now read what it’s potentially for, if it turns out to be true I would hope we don’t see Kiko again.

Hope Meslier takes his chance!

2.) 02 Nov 2019 10:55:29
If he is found guilty we should sack him. Leeds Utd is no place for racists.

3.) 02 Nov 2019 11:06:35
He should be Released! I'd rather not be promoted than have a Racist in my Club!

4.) 02 Nov 2019 14:30:37
Hooksie ❤ your Integrity. A compliment or a command? 🤣.

5.) 02 Nov 2019 14:45:43
Nice George old Boy🤣🤣.

29 Oct 2019 21:08:09
Think November will show us where we are at. 5 games and for we should be taking at least 13 points if we are as good as we think we are. Two home games then away to bottom teams, Luton, Reading and Brough. If we can do that then reckon we will be going into Dec top again and to be fair we should be able to beat them all. Quietly confident of a good month and maybe a shot in the arm for everyone.

29 Oct 2019 09:29:03
My take is Bamford is a false no 9 because Bubs wants him to play that way. He does fit the role but it does not excuse him for the chances he has missed. Playing him this way means goals have to come from elsewhere. Pablo is out so miss his goals and his absence means Klich has a different role so we miss his contribution as well. This for highlights the lack of depth to the squad when we start putting round pegs in square holes. Bubs does not trust the likes of Bogusz and Edmo at the moment so the options are obvious. Roberts should be playing now fit and Klich goes back to his best role. Eddie should be up front because he is more likely to score than Bam. To say we need Bam on the pitch for what he contributes makes no sense as we did pretty well when Roofe was in his position so i see no problem with a straight swap for Eddie. Would look next at Harrison and maybe think of using JC the way we did last season. I would also have Edmo on the bench as he would provide an alternative for those last ten minutes when we are chasing the game. We might then get an head on some of the corners and free kicks.
Saying all that i think we will be in the mix for play offs at end of season but like a few on here i do believe that at this point we could be 4 or 5 points clear if we had taken the chances we had and our form mirrors what we did last season and you expect to improve from the previous season and i do not think we have to be honest.
So me being a top manager and football analyst i would have Eddie, JC, Roberts, Klich and Costa out there. Then when we are 4-0 up bring Bam on for Klich and see what happens.

1.) 29 Oct 2019 10:31:26
We can speculate all we want and a lot on here making sense.
The fact of the matter is. Unless Bamford Klich harrison or any other player gets injured. He simply does not replace his fav 11 for start of the game.
From what I’ve seen. We have outplayed most this season even wed, Brom and other top teams. With a striker on the pitch we should be minimum 5-8 points clear.
Biesla is 100% to blame for us not being. He is too old to change unfortunately. And will at some point need to go unless we get lucky enough to have a few players get slightly injured to give others a chance.

2.) 29 Oct 2019 11:41:41
agree with both post apart from outplaying brom and sheff wed, against both of them we was the lesser team and they outplayed us. but i like that as for me it shows we can dig in and that's a real team

aus is right i think only thing that can change our starting 11 is a zombie apolocis and even then he still might play harrision.

i just can't get past him keep playing harrision and klich when they are clearly not in form and leaving eddie on the bench when he looks like a world beater at this level.

3.) 29 Oct 2019 12:43:57
I now have question marks over the call for Roberts. Having been keeping an eye on his minutes recently he has far from convinced and as for his performance last night he was far from being the best U23 out there. As a potential, consistent first teamer he should have dominated the game but far from it. Apart from his errors he was largely anonymous.

4.) 29 Oct 2019 14:43:52
Noticed that with a few first teamers when they run out with U23s leodis. None of them impress think its more a fitness thing than anything else. Roberts has it just needs game time.

Agree i usually look forward to the Jan speculation but dreading the chance we may lose White and Eddie as think we will find White hard to replace. Wish we could take the chance and buy him in Jan, pay later lol.

Think Radz has a dilema on his hands gere. As i said when this rumour surfaced the Qataris will not invest without a clause to buy majority shares. So its not about the 11% he is willing to sell now but about the clubs future value. If we miss out on promotion again i think some major investment will be needed to get a couple more quality players in. Radz and Aser will not want to do that. Would Bubs sign another contract extension without it, not so sure. We would lose players as well who would have to be replaced. However if we do go up it would add 30mill to asking price so is it a gamble worth taking for Radz knowing that he does not have the funds to compete at the top of the PL. I think a deal will be done and Qataris will be major shareholders next summer depending on how many shares Radz wants to hold onto as i can not see him selling all if there is a chance we will be in PL.

no concerns at all. Reason we had a lot of U19s in is because players like KunT, Mcalmont, Bogusz etc. were away representing their national sides, shows the talent we have and good for the younger ones to experience the step up, even if it was a bit of an hammering.

Do not think top managers look at a set formation anymore, its just numbers on paper. The teams play with more fluidity now and players change position on pitch regularly. Its poorer teams who are playing the top teams who tend to stick with 4-4-2 or 4-5-1 etc. 2-2-6 sounds good to me.
