Thank you Swansea, Next up Rotherham which we should win and Norwich play Sheff Utd so more gaps opening. Would rather Norwich win and we open a 7 point gap to third place then Norwich lose to Brom. Then we beat Norwich and it will all be looking better. onwards and upwards.

BIGE

1.) 20 Jan 2019 00:30:21
Oh well, that’s sorted then!

2.) 20 Jan 2019 11:29:13
Easy, easy, easy, Naaaaarwich are one of the teams that have gone off crying to the FL btw. I hope we remind them that WE ARE LEEDS.

3.) 20 Jan 2019 11:34:54
Lol. I hope your so big! 🤞.

4.) 20 Jan 2019 12:01:52
Sorry meant Middlesbrough lose to Brom.

5.) 20 Jan 2019 13:36:07
BIGE, you confuse me old bean. I am praying we beat Rotherham and SU, Norwich, Brom and Boro all draw with each other relentlessly over the next three weeks. I want both sides dropping 2 rather than either winning 1. That's where the gaps will come from, subject to Us winning of course. Norwich and Sheff next weekend, followed by us an Norwich a week later is a critical time. I hope this spyware crap hasn't turned Bielsa's head. We looked superb against Derby, but the mood was a world away at Stoke. Unpredictable times.

6.) 20 Jan 2019 14:04:41
Dropping 2,rather than winning 3 that should read. Sunday drinking and speed typing, not ideal.

7.) 22 Jan 2019 11:58:12
Lufc if Norwich beat SU then it opens a bigger gap between top two and third with them all having to come to ER. I am looking at the top two going up, would love to go up as champions but would love it just as much to go up in second place.

Bit late posting this but was in no state yesterday to be putting sentences together and just finished work but what a result. Think we just moved up to the next level. JCs head must be in the clouds right now love the lad. Thank you Mr Cellino for bringing such talent to the club, and Shackleton. Not an ideal game to blood Lief in, he must have been crapping it, but fair play he put in a shift. Never say die attitude is fantastic. All that's left to say is Merry Christmas to all my readers, hope you all have a great one. Onwards and upwards.

Have a blue yellow and white Christmas everyone, and yes I've checked the league tables, guess what? We're Leeds United, we're top of the league.

Was working yesterday so could not get to the match but watched it last night through my beer goggles and again this morning. Thought Brentford were the best we have met this season, caused us a lot of problems. Ref certainly a Brentford fan, needs to dropped to lower leagues, very poor.

Although once again some of our players were off their game, maybe need a rest, we more than held our own and i think if the ref had let the game flow we would have seen us win that one. Third not a bad place to be after all our injuries and in a way i am glad Ayling gets to have a rest now as well.

Said before we are missing Pablo and Roofe up front to get the goals flowing again. If the ref had his glasses on and spotted the dive we would have won 1-0 so not downbeat over the result, or performance. these things happen. Think we are a top three team and deserve to be and come end of season will expect us to still be up there.

West Brom for me are the team to beat, dodgy defence but score for fun. Blunts and Bees will drop away but will be thereabouts for a play off position. Very close so far as Forest have shown by jumping into the play off position. Think the team who wins it will be the first one to get 5 points ahead over the winter.

If we sign two or three players in Jan, which we have the money for, think that could be us. Always positive because no point being negative when you are in the top three. Think the young lads coming through and getting game time will be a big help this season. Onwards and upwards.

Think the Hooligan decision was a joke and it must be very apparent to all impartial observers just how much the FA and EFL despise Leeds No one can look at the decisions over Hooligan and Canos and say we get a fair deal. Beats me how they get away with it. Pontus swears after the game and gets a ban but our players can be assaulted and nothing done. Lot of them not fit for purpose.

BIGE

1.) 01 May 2019 11:43:49
I agree BIGE but let’s use it! Show some video clips of the scrap with a slow mo of snarling John terry before the play off games! Let’s give them something to really annoy them taking one of the best supported sides out of the championship!

2.) 01 May 2019 12:31:45
i got to be honest i have seen it and not sure it is a punch and personally i don't think he should be banned however i do feel if it was a leeds player he would of been punched, the off pitch headbut on pontus was worse and that was also unpunished.

What annoyed me more was villa played on after forshaw went down and only kicked the ball out of play when they had nothing on, also the keeper who kept going down injured to waste time then to pull off a wonder save at the end, if an outfeild player went down that much he would of been forced off the pitch.

also disgusted with sheff utd manager, he has done an amazing job but they go up and all he can say is anti leeds vile.

I hope we use villas antics and all the anti leeds vile to motivate us. For me sheff utd manager has done our next four games team talk for the manager i would record it and play it before every game, even paint it on the walls

wise created an us against the world mentality and it done well, let's see theat again MOT.

3.) 02 May 2019 14:28:33
You mean Chris Wilder Bermo, the most well-balanced bloke at Bramall Lane, chip on both shoulders. I think he's upset because nobody gives a toss about his little club and Leeds get all the press coverage.

29 Apr 2019 11:17:54
Well the fat lady has nearly finished singing and i must say i have enjoyed the performance immensely and can not wait for the encore. We showed we can beat any of the other play off teams so have nothing to fear. Bubs has stuck with his pressing style and played the percentages and it nearly paid off. Different ball game now though so needs to be able to tweak that game plan a bit. If we are 1-0 up in the second leg with ten to go i hope he knows how to shut a game down.
In my opinion there was nothing wrong with the goal against Villa, this sort of thing happens every week in every league. Just because some sky pundit starts pontificating about it being morally wrong because it is Leeds makes no difference to me. You play to the refs whistle, he makes the decision if the games needs to stop not some Villa player who can't be arsed to run back and defend. Think Bubs gave them their goal because he was frustrated at the position we were in knowing the match meant very little and he could see Villa players rolling about and acting like kids and their bench up in arms. It was a slap in the face for Villa, like when your mam used to slap you on the head and tell you not to act so stupid.
Anyway still in the hunt and see you all at Wembley. Hope it is Villa in the final and they get Daly on sky sports to give them marks out of ten for the diving.

BIGE

1.) 29 Apr 2019 11:27:37
It's cup football after Sunday's game, the previous results count for nothing really other than we know we can beat each of them on our day. Do feel if it is going to be Villa, should we get through, then yesterday's game serves to add a bit of spice. Truth is that I think WBA will beat Villa over 2 legs.

2.) 29 Apr 2019 12:21:18
If, as seems very likely, it is a two-legged West Mids derby, there should be a real pressure cooker atmosphere for both matches, with local rivalry adding to the high stakes in play for any play-off semi. There's a number of hot-heads on both sides so, with a bit of luck, whoever makes it through to Wembley could be missing one or more players due to suspension or knocks received during those matches.

That said, if we end up with Fat Frank's team in the semi, that could be a little tasty too and Bub will need to make sure that our own players concentrate on the football and do not rise to any provocation from that bunch of whiners etc.

3.) 29 Apr 2019 12:23:04
I just hope the players turn up for the playoffs :-)

4.) 29 Apr 2019 12:56:32
My concern is the injuries to the left of our defence. It could leave us a little exposed over 3 matches (4 including Ipswich)

5.) 29 Apr 2019 13:13:55
With Scunthorpe's season ending next weekend, could Tom Pearce return for the play-offs? - not that playing for a team relegated (or just scraping survival, depending on results for them and Southend United) from League One would be ideal preparation for facing the likes of Harry Wilson and Mason Mount.

6.) 29 Apr 2019 15:47:27
Interesting point clue. I’d have him back, but don’t think Bielsa will, as he’s not been sufficiently involved to fit the style and tactics. Berra will be left back.

7.) 29 Apr 2019 16:34:34
I think Pearce is on his way out, Bub likes players that train hard.

8.) 30 Apr 2019 00:22:05
There's still a chance that Fat Frank Lampard's Derby County could overtake Villa y' know, they've still got 2 games left, then again Boro could still nick 6th from FFLDC, my head hurts 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯.

23 Apr 2019 11:53:54
Lets put all this into perspective lads. The reason we are all gutted and some are looking to blame this player or that one or lack of investment or Bubs stubborness is because we have had the best season in decades. We have been battling for automatic promotion for all season long and still are. If some one had said last summer we would have done that i would have give him one of my wry looks. The fact is we have done it and that's why it so disappointing to see automatic slipping away but if we had been in Villas position and come through at the death to clinch a play off place we would be over the moon. Nothing in life is easy especially if you are a Leeds fan.
Yes we needed a few more who could ease the burden on the lads who have given their all every game this season. Bielsaball is a hard demanding style and its a long season so let's be proud the lads got us to where we are. Agree that play offs are a bit of a lottery but why should we not win it. Think it will be us and Brom in final if it goes that way and we can beat them. Its never over till its over and i for one applaud Bubs and the team for an exciting and nerve wracking season. MOT.

4.) 23 Apr 2019 12:40:47
Well said Bige. Lotteries are there to be won and there is no reason that it cannot be us.

5.) 23 Apr 2019 17:07:46
BIGE

Yet again you are the voice of reason

I have LOVED this season. Even now, I am pinching myself when I look at the table. I just can't believe we are so high up with the players we have. not knocking the players at all, but when you consider the spending of other teams in this division I think we are doing amazingly well.

The football is brilliant to watch, I will be happy watching that every year no matter what division we are in

I find it ironic that when we had McCormack and Wood firing in loads of goals we were hanging in on many games and now we have the games virtually won we just don't have that finishers!

still, as I have said before, none of our recent prolific strikers have done well in their first season with us so I expect Bamford to be a revelation next season.

09 Apr 2019 22:29:01
Thats one out of the way 5 left, just when i was giving up on Bam-Bam. MOT, onwards and upwards.

BIGE

1.) 10 Apr 2019 02:53:51
You can have your doubts about Bam Bam but NEVER second guess Bub If Bub says Bam is the one then Bam is the one.

08 Apr 2019 10:14:44
Down to the last six games guys and its all to play for. You would expect teams in this position to win their home games, although i think Villa will test us and Forest will test them. Preston is a must win game and then hope Birmingham take something out of their game. We then have Brentford and Ipswich away both winnable and in my eyes easier than SUs trips to Hull and Stoke. Stoke defend well and Hull are dangerous on their day. Its in the lap of the gods guys but luckily we have one managing us. MOT.

BIGE

1.) 08 Apr 2019 12:36:44
Not if he keeps playing Bamford and Dallas.

2.) 08 Apr 2019 18:44:55
Hessian let’s all hope mate that’s all we can do.

3.) 08 Apr 2019 19:42:15
Yes that's it. Just keep hoping. Nothing much has changed in that respect over the past 14 years. This is probably the best of our chances. Bielsa has done a great job but nobody is perfect.

4.) 08 Apr 2019 21:48:45
Exactly Hess no one is perfect and for his first season in English football not speaking the language think he has been brilliant. Thanks to him we are in the running with six games to go. Shall we all just give up Hess, of course we are going to keep hoping. MOT.

5.) 08 Apr 2019 22:15:57
Hopefully we'll lose the last games and finish 7th, might satisfy a few. We ARE 3rd yanno, 1 point behind second.

6.) 08 Apr 2019 22:58:03
Maybe if some south stand tools throw more rubbish on the pitch, we can be deducted points, and relegated? Worth a try, surely.

7.) 09 Apr 2019 09:29:02
if that could be couple with millwall promotion my life would be complete.

MP agree with your point when it comes to team selection but in this instance i think he is right. I was always told you play to the whistle. If a team is attacking and a player goes down in the center circle why should they stop. that's the refs call. Players are not out there to make the refs decisions for him. Bub has made it clear that we will play to the rules so there are no grey areas. Ref was happy to give us the goal against Villa and in my opinion the way Villa players reacted attacking Klich the FA should have taken action, r the ref even should have booked about 4 players for grabbing him, is that not recognised as assault? So i think Bubs is right to put the onus on the ref and now the Derby players might get back on their feet a bit quicker.

Not saying you are wrong Spanish because the season is far from over yet but think it was a bit naive not to add more outfield players in Jan given our history of injuries this season and possible suspension. As you say might not have made a difference but then again they might have.

Agree with most of that. I was disappointed we did not add more in the Jan window as it was obvious then we needed cover in certain areas. James was a must and should have been done in a day not haggled over. Not sure you can blame Radz for drop in form that's down to Bub and players, but the guy who sent Pearce and Coyle out on loan without a call back clause needs to see a shrink. Its not over yet though and we need to get behind the lads and hope they can show their best form.

I understand where you are coming from Currie as there is no bright side at the moment. Not sure what Bubs could have done with the left side. He was using Clarke more but then he got sick so short in that position and we have sent Pearce and Denton out on loan so no real cover at left back either. Agree young ones like Shacks Gotts and even Edmondson should have had more game time.
However you can not deny Bubs has done a great job to get this group of players to the play offs as it is his style of play and motivating skills that have got us where we are. Yes some of his decisions are baffling and some have proved to be wrong but this is his first season in English football and i think a successful one for him given what he has had to work with.
The play offs are coming up and anything can happen, it may rejuvenate the players and they go on and smash them. Then again it might show that two or three extra players in Jan could have made all the difference.
