A Moyes type team is always a tough one to break down, especially with a Tarkowski in it and Everton will not concede many goals this season, even against the elite clubs.
So considering this I thought we did very well, was it a penalty? most definitely as you can see very clearly Tarkowski leaning into the ball with his arm, so in effect using his arm to deflect the ball.
Of course no Everton fan or anti VAR fan is going to agree with that but I really don’t care.
I would just say to them, try a Championship ref without VAR for one season and then tell me you don’t want VAR!
Standouts for me were Tanaka and Stach, Perri also looks very confident with commanding his box.
I’m not sure we’ll be looking for another striker but I may be wrong, for me though the left flank is the most important position to cover before the window closes.
Jack Harrison is just not good enough in quality for the Premiership.
Great start and I feel more confident with our defense and midfield now, we also press with good energy and I’m still quietly confident we will survive this season even if the margin is very small.
Onwards and Upwards.

I think it was also a game that gives confidence that our recruitment is correct. Stach looked excellent, Gudmundsson was solid defensively, got forward well and will contribute, Perri did what little was required of him, Nmecha made good runs and had the confidence to take penalty with his third touch on debut.
Add to that last seasons signings of Tanaka and Bogle both looking very good and more than capable of stepping up, our recruitment is very strong.

The new signings are great as individuals but have increased the quality of the players around them.
Gnonto, Tanaka, Robson, struijk, Harrison, arronson, all of them have ratcheted up in levels of quality.
Fair play to Harrison I thought he did well.

Tanaka £3m quid!

Agree with all above, reasons to be cheerful with Bijols return also, hoping Long staff won't be a bit player for ys
But elephant in room
What to do with James / Piroe / Baracus all fair poor against a fair poor team
We need them replaced as starters, back up yes but not 1st 11 in environment we now find ourselves in.

What did Harrison do well? I like the bloke but must have missed that bit. It was like 4.30 am.

He was steady Aus. Full of running, up and down, and linked up play well. Nowt spectacular at all, but good enough.

I actually thought Piroe was very good especially in the first half. Held the ball up and linked up the play superbly.

He actually did cross the ball that Stach took the shot from.
To the point; he didn't do anything poorly and won possession back a couple of times and as others said, linked up well to be fair to him. I think it was clear he did ok; the booing stopped after about 5 minutes, when they saw how is was doing / trying.

I totally agree re JP, Corkey!

Was wondering had I seen different game on Piroe performance
Checked a few player ratings sites, my faith is restored on game I seen?.
