Looking forward to the potential call up for Meslier since Peri has been announced injured during training.
I know most will say Darlow will deputize and probably will, but it is notable that Darlow’s history in the Premiership has been pretty tragic.
If anything i would choose Meslier for the game against Fulham partly based on his distribution rather than his shot stopping which is equally on a very good level.
We have shown difficulty in playing out from the back and that has been due to Peri’s lack of technique which will hopefully improve as the season progresses?
Still feel Meslier is a very good keeper that has been unfairly brutalized by the media which affected his confidence. He still has a way back in my opinion.

Is it Comic Relief Day already?
Not sure are you being sarcastic or dissimulating?
10 Sep 2025 20:54:40
There is some logic to starting meslier on Saturday although personally I don't think he will. Mez will have a lot to prove and potentially could play a blinder . He needs to put himself back in the shop window and a good performance may just do that.
I know its, all ifs, buts's and maybe's. Or just wishful thinking.

No surprises you’d be the first to mock my post Cork, but I imagine there will be a few others that might follow also. I don’t give a monkeys arse what anyone else thinks anyway on this particular topic and I’ve got plenty of ammo to back up my reasoning. It’s a very unpopular stance to take on our number one situation, but I’ll continue to stick to my guns so long as Meslier is still at our club.
10 Sep 2025 21:50:20
OP I apologize if you think I mocked you as that wasn’t my intention.
I’ll make one point n leave it at that.
You say Darlow was pretty tragic in the EPL but apart from one decent season was Mezz any better?
The season we got relegated he was extremely poor.
The next two he wasn’t much better.
He is still at our club?
I wonder why?
10 Sep 2025 21:56:48
I tend to agree with OP regarding Meslier, he has had time to think and work hard in training which he has been doing, he also has not asked to leave, so it’s as if he wants another chance and maybe a break has helped him.
As OP stated he’s had a lot of negative feedback and while some was deserved, a lot of it wasn’t.
Anyway we will see and after Darlows calamity game at the Wendies maybe it’s time for a Meslier comeback ??.

How can we spend so much money on a GK - when we're so tight on PSR that we can't buy attackers, as requested by the manager, then replace said goal keeper with the guy we wanted to replace?!
Who the feck is running Leeds united? Kristy the clown, Stevie wonder and ray Charles?!
10 Sep 2025 23:17:44
I honestly don’t believe Farke actually wanted another keeper, it was due to the relentless and in my opinion, over the top reaction of the media to some errors made by Meslier, that every man and his dog then followed suit. Farke and the club had no option to seek another keeper due to the very clear unrest that had been feverishly stoked up.
Farke commented several times that he was still confident in Meslier even with the errors that occurred.
I feel the money that was spent on Peri could have been used with more effectiveness on a more needed attacker.
But that's just my opinion.
11 Sep 2025 00:04:44
Play him in the under 21 for two games. See what his current form is. I have a feeling it will be hopeless. Never let him start a first team game again. The bloke is laughable between the sticks. Well it would be funny if it didn’t cost soooo many points.
11 Sep 2025 07:14:31
Meslier split from his long term girlfriend last week, not sure what his frame of mind would be.
11 Sep 2025 07:33:24
Sad LAD I had heard he’d dropped her.
11 Sep 2025 07:59:49
Funny class. Poor bloke. Never nice splitting up. Some just slip through your fingers though.
11 Sep 2025 08:03:46
I really don’t know what the discussions are at Elland rd concerning Meslier, unless there are plans to offload him in January it only appears to me that the club may have future plans for him because it looks like he doesn’t want to move.
Even if his stock has gone so low the club would still probably recoup the 7Mil spent on him when we bought him from L’orient at the very minimum.
It doesn’t make any sense to let him wind down his contract to go for free and not even use him!
We’ll see what evolves, I can only wish him good luck and all the best as he has been a loyal hard working and likable player at our club.
Don’t think splitting from his girlfriend should make any difference either, lots of professional football players have emotional issues, that's life and we have to get on with it.
11 Sep 2025 08:26:37
He didn’t move cause he didn’t like the offers. Not cause he didn’t want to move and wanted to stay. Take the blinkers off opti.
11 Sep 2025 08:59:24
Same with Piroe, Aus. Yet we dump Bamford when we need a striker.
11 Sep 2025 09:06:57
Aus, that’s just hearsay mate, there’s as much truth in that as that I am Daniel Farke’s sister.
My version is that he wants to prove everyone wrong and most of all be a successful Leeds United goalkeeper.
I still think that so called error he made against Sunderland was a freaky bounce due to huge amount of spin or a clump of turf that made that ball change direction so much.
It was because of that particular incident and the game itself that everyone wanted to cancel out Meslier.
Everyone was on his back, when a goalkeeper is blamed for an error it rarely goes away unlike an outfield player. I think he was unfairly hounded for something that was a freak incident.
Impatience and cancel culture has never been more fervent than it is today in football, for the worst I believe.
11 Sep 2025 10:04:01
Oh. Your version must be right. What am I and all the reports from Leeds chairman thinking. Silly us.
You might be right about the freak bounce v Sunderland but no excuse to fall apart and commit a hundred errors.
11 Sep 2025 10:14:07
It’s still your version Aus even with your cheeky unnecessary sarcasm, as much as it’s only my opinion also.
You know as much truthful facts as I do.
Speculation is the word of the day.
11 Sep 2025 10:28:49
If Peri is injured, then you replace him with the next best, and that ain't Darlow or Cairns, is it? It's Mes. Like it? Lump it? Whichever.
It is what it is.
Either way, we'll do Fulham.
11 Sep 2025 11:50:28
Mez on his day off a class been a great servant and loyal to us when we went down and never downed tools
If he starts I think it’s possible he keeps his place.
11 Sep 2025 12:16:27
I was actually thinking the same Bermo! ??.
11 Sep 2025 12:59:46
Agree with OP, Bright and Berm. Mes kept 21 clean sheets out of 39 matches in 24/ 25 which is certainly not shoddy. Unfortunately keepers mistakes are in a spotlight and cost goals. Mes came under a microscope. The attention was bound to cause pressure. I would definitely put him above Darlow and play him against Fulham.
11 Sep 2025 14:38:00
Oh so funny vid opti bern. If you believe that. Well. I just don’t understand it. Sorry. Maybe optician. Psychologist. Dunno. I find it hard to understand how some stick up for players when pretty much the whole world Dosent and sees their glaringly obvious faults and frailties. Not that it matters. Hopefully he never sets foot or mistaken catch on Leeds soil again. Never mention him again.
11 Sep 2025 14:39:23
We will not beat Fulham . What are you on?
11 Sep 2025 14:59:28
A tad harsh Aus mate lol. Of course your opinion has validity, but people do seem to gloss over any of Mes' achievements in pursuit of their degradation. As the Woodster pointed out, there are valid reasons for backing Mes, I believe he has the talent. Only time will tell dude and of course you could well be right, but then again.
11 Sep 2025 15:43:24
Aus because the other two have been banned you decided to fill the void?
I’m is for me that’s a gap that can be left infilled then we just might have a nice banter forum for once.
11 Sep 2025 15:55:49
Steady on Berm that’s borderline cancel culture, and less you forget Aus is a multi winning POTY recipient, and whilst I’m sure Aus doesn’t need anyone to stand his corner, .
And I fully agree not only with his opinion with regards young Illan, playing again, but most importantly his right to hold a contrary opinion without being lobbed in with, well you know who.
Labelling Aus on a par with previous now exiled members was low and uncalled for but that’s your opinion and that’s what a banter site is in a nutshell, different opinions, long may it continue, spare us all from mediocrity.
11 Sep 2025 16:39:54
Well I’ve said my bit on it and judging by these like things it’s of no surprise that it’s extremely unpopular but I’ve never considered myself a sheep and I prefer to draw my own picture of events.
I seriously hope Meslier gets another opportunity at our club and I honestly couldn’t care less if the majority thinks it nonsense. Far stranger things have happened in football so we’ll see what happens.
11 Sep 2025 20:11:50
Fair class and while I agree with you aus has been banned over comments towards me according to him and is the first to jump on me.
I think live and let live but he with glass bbqs shouldn’t throw stones.
12 Sep 2025 06:31:21
Class, although I don’t think it was necessary of Berm to compare Aus with two previous posters, Aus’s wording is also not necessary, just because there is a minority of us who have a different opinion concerning the goalkeeping status at our club doesn’t mean because the vast majority don’t agree it means that they are right, even if they are a previous poster of the year.
Some of the wording and it’s not just from Aus could be toned down, I am far from being a clown or a lunatic yet some of the responses appear to suggest this from certain posters who think because they hold the vast opinion on a certain subject, to have an opposing opinion would seem to be pure madness!
Even the posters who share the minority of an opinion are entitled to express that opinion without being made to look stupid.
This is an internet banter site, but I am not your mate so please do not make judgmental statements about my character.
12 Sep 2025 09:57:48
"Baz" came 4th once, with 7 votes, as he once recalled with real pride, to justify his perspectives and status on the forum, and George quoted himself as being "well respected by many" on the site not long before his true character shone through. That was irrelevant too. ???.
