There's a lot of positives to take from the game; the will to fight, the ability to retake control and the cohesion of the subs.

With all that said, with all that happened in the 94 minutes, nothing sums up the spirit of Leeds than a collapsed Tanaka being picked up and hugged by guilovogi.
There was something special, something very leedsy about that moment; exhaustion, overwhelming emotion and the team spirit to stand up, celebrate, fight and march on together.

In a cheesy way, those moments are why the game is beautiful.

Absolutely MOT; great post. The epitome of being a Leeds fan and why we love this game and this team. It was agonising watch; as you say very “Leedsy. ”.

There seems to be a theme emerging after every game of incidents like this. The togetherness of the squad, harnessed by the gaffer without doubt. Those moments are really top drawer special to see. It’s these moments that make it astoundingly unbelievable that people say ridiculous things intimating that the squad is split, the boss has lost the dressing room; utter sh1t stirring garbage.

PS. I do wonder whether Guilovogui would be worth keeping on in a coaching capacity? Always beneficial to have a character such as his in a coaching set up.

The LUFC team performance was such a big improvement from previous recent matches and this reflected in aptly euphoric post match celebrations by ALL of the Leeds Utd squad.

BUT perhaps an even bigger development was Blades losing for a second consecutive game.

All season Blades fans have been crowing that " Illian Meslier is their best signing! "

Well since Le Mes has been very justly dropped, Sheffield Utd have NOT won even a single point LMAO.

09 Apr 2025 08:59:13
Instead of beating the Mes drum on and on, why not address the biggest issue we have faced this season, and the god awful officiating we have suffered with, and could have suffered from to a much, much more severe degree?

{Ed001's Note - those two offside decisions were shockingly bad.}

Baz. that's the Baz I love to read. Positive and with those quirky bits of info that make me smile.

You mask it well but you can, at times, be a positive driving force to this site. You're relentless with your postings. You sick to your guns no matter how many posters are against you. You help to keep our site more active than most.
I hardly ever see eye to eye with you perspective, but I will fight tooth and nail for your right to say it, as there is very little personal abuse from you. A gent. A moronic gent. But a gent none the less.

(Been abroad hence the lack of messages for a while. The Hot tub died just after it's warranty ran out)

Indeed Ed, same as the other two shockers from the same Lino in two other games recently! Thankfully they didn’t cost us points!

{Ed001's Note - was it the same lino both times? I thought they both made one incredibly bad decision each. I don't understand how a professional could get those wrong when they were clear and not even close.}

09 Apr 2025 11:01:52
Lol cheers Axey for the backing
so High Time to purchase a new replacement upgrade hot tub then pal.

The problem is nothing is ever done about it, when you consider the size what is at stake, there must be some sort of punitive measures to deal with officials who repeatedly get it wrong. Or introduce VAR to the EFL.

Baz you’re just boring fella, i'm not taking the bait, jog on.

{Ed001's Note - VAR doesn't fix it though, Liverpool had a goal ruled out for offside this season which was shown later to be well onside. It doesn't matter what country you are in, fans moan about VAR being useless. I was at a game here on Monday night, looked like a clear penalty live, the game is televised on local TV so everyone whips out their phones to see the replays. The replays showed it was as clear and obvious a penalty as you will ever see, but nothing. Nada. The ref just carried on and VAR did not call him over to look at it. The officials needed security to get them off the pitch after the game.}

Bright,

I don't think the questions that fans raised over the evident lack of form and the disappearance of the team togetherness - hard to argue it was there while Rodon and Meslier were screaming at one another, is unfounded.

A drop of form, a loss of the changing room and a rally by the team can all be true and could well be.

I believe, maybe optimistically, that we had a rut, we have come through it, and the next six games will see us go on another tear.

We had two goals disallowed yesterday which saw a very nervy final 15 minutes. However, had we gone two and three nil up, would we be nervy? Or would we have gone on a mad goal-scoring run of form like we did before the rut? I think, had we gone 3-0 up, the game could have finished 4-0 or 5-0.

TL;DR - we can fall and get back up again.

09 Apr 2025 14:01:37
I spend a lot of time in France and Germany and the fans there don’t talk about VAR and referring decisions as much as we do in this country.
It doesn’t mean they don’t have poor officiating over there but they do make comments about how poor our officials are here.
The EFL officials are the worst i’ve seen anywhere on my travels and by a very long margin.

My question is, are our officials good enough and if not what can be done about it. It seems to me that no one is checking and we just accept it!

Bang on the money MOTagain re Rodon and many other players previous reactions on pitch

OP agreed re the comparisons to other overseas leagues officiating and VAR.

09 Apr 2025 17:28:08
Pitch reactions are a million miles away from team spirit, and “losing the dressing room” accusations. The latter is a very strong phrase, basically accusing the players of not respecting, trusting, or even following the coach. It’s been levied at Farke several times, and could not be further from reality.

09 Apr 2025 18:18:36
On the contrary Bright

pitch reactions and attitude can reveal a lot about players respect for a coach and each other

1) Leeds players from Feb to May 2023 throwing in towel not playing fpr coach or each other

2) Harvey and McQueen 1978 Man City Cup throwing punches . MCQueen transferred out of Leeds shortly after

3) Big Jack and Gary Sprake

4) Batty and Le Saux

5) Bowyer and Dyer

Etc etc etc.

09 Apr 2025 18:42:37
For me, Bright, it's just the phrase without as much strength behind it.

A coach can lose the faith of the players, who can be nervous about direction, catalysed by the GK situation which makes for a real crap day at the office.
That doesn't mean it's the be all and end all. We all have bad days, but a few truths, nice words and rallying cries can get people up and winning again.

Think of the end of the Boro match where Farke and ramazani are arm in arm doing the hand thing. They've never done that before, so why do it now if not to show people that there's no rift between them, even if there was or not.

Think of all of that in the context of us collapsing as a club and team last season.

The fans sung their hearts out. They believe so much in Leeds that the atmosphere permeated through all, resulting in a three nil win (knackers to the linesmen) .

Preston will get massacred on the pitch, figuratively.

09 Apr 2025 21:09:22
Indeed Baz. But you’ve kind of backed my point up, as those events were reflective of truly screwed up dressing rooms with big divides, which ours definitely does NOT have. When a squad is United, as ours clearly is, the reactions to disappointments on the pitch are not so extreme, and are to be expected in any sport, but that United front shows thro anyway as it did last night. Collective disappointment and collective relief etc etc….
Any divides, or unrest which exist would show themselves in more extreme manners spilling out onto the pitch, as per your examples.
