Undoubtedly a good player with a lot of potential, but the bottom line was that he didn't fit our style of play, and that still applies imo. A buy back clause would've been handy to reevaluate or cash in! But that's woulda, coulda, shoulda again.

Bright, he was sold because he had an argument with Farke, who then benched him as a result. Ramazani is in the same boat.
The look on farke's face when Rama sunk two in five minutes says it all.
Makes no wonder rumours are swirling that Rama is going to Rangers.
I wouldn't be surprised if Schmidt is in the same position; massive talent and one of our best players, forced to sit on the bench. Even worse that Byram was chosen over him. (Thanks for the OG, Sam)

Fully agree about Schmidt I have spoke about him dozens of times on here, what a waste of a talent, we have him use him don't buy someone else because of an argument for god's sake.

Think the days of bringing players through “as one of own” belongs back in a different era altogether.
Young players are still investments for top teams but very few if any make the transition from academy to first team, even less the higher you go.
Young players are like share investments for the clubs and under PSR regulations you get far greater returns when selling home grown players (Archie) .
Irrespective, of this, Charlie Cresswell (at that time) was a long way behind, Joe, Pasqule, Max and Ethan so the transfer was good for the club and for Charlie.
What if Charlie’s transfer funds enabled us to loan Manor?
As for Farkey, I’ve been highly critical of his stubbornness (in my eyes) management of Illan, but even if it is true, that he falls out with players and that he holds grudges, what difference does it make, when you romp the division and you’re promoted as champions?
If actions speak louder than words, contrary to my own criticisms, history confirms that Farke was proven to be correct with these players, did we need to win by more.

Good post Class. But whet worries me is he will dump Rams for 8 mill or thereabouts when I believe he could be a difference maker next season. The lad is super talented but can DF see past his own personal issues?
