Hello, lads! Was reading for few years, but decided to write smth myself as this post is about one of my favourite players and probably the most talented youngster in Russian football - Khvicha Kvaratskhelia Sorry if it’s too long to read…

He came to Locomotive Moscow (the team I’m a fan of since I was a kid) on a trial loan. Our management failed to sign him on a permanent contract, so he went to Rubin Kazan. Our manager (Semin) was so pissed that we lost such a gem, that he resigned cause he can’t work with such a morons. Khvicha was like a son to him (Khvicha was half a season in the squad) . And Semin is a bigger legend for Loko than Revie for Leeds. That led to serious problems with fans as we rated Khvicha very highly.

His current manager known in England as Slut Sky (Slutsky) rates him highly as well and it was him who told Khvicha that he should go to a better league as his potential is too high for Russian PL. According to our papers Slutsky is personally in talks with Leeds, as he thinks our team (Leeds I mean) suits him better and Bielsa can make Khvicha a top player. So Rubin wants him to move to Leeds, I guess it’s now down to fee.

On Khvicha himself. He is highly technical, can beat few players easily, and our league is very defensive. He does it for fun. Can play left right and Center, just don’t care. All the highlights are more than true. On the other hand he is very selfish, sometimes it seams that he can’t see any teammates, but he is young and we all know Bielsa can fix anything. The other drawback he is not falling back. That might be a problem, but again, we got Bielsa.

My biggest concern is his adaptation. He is extremely shy. Still lives with his parents. He still can’t speak Russian, although he was laying in Russia for 3 years.

So I guess he will be a great purchase but may be not for now but for the future. Nearest future. He will need season or so I think. And we will get proper exciting players, with proper training he can be on the same level as Raphinha, but for now is a bit raw. His work rate is phenomenal every manager say.

Hope it was helpful. Cheers from Russia! MOT!

So it seams we are not getting any players again this window. Very disappointing as there are some affordable good players on the market.
I understand that MB will probably go in the summer. To be honest our style of football is not that unique and breathtaking anymore. We played great against WH, but the game against Newcastle was hard to watch. I don't really think I want Bielsa to stay for another year, I want him to go on a high note, as a hero who brought us back after 16 disastrous years.
Yes, I understand that half of our squad is injured and we have only teenagers on the bench. But it's another question we can all address to MB and the board. What was their plan for this season? Struggle to stay in the league? If you want to progress, to stay in top 10, to have a chance to attract talented young players, your plan should be visible. Now I can't understand what is the plan.
Maybe Radz and Co know that the days of MB are numbered. Maybe that is why it's harder to get certain players in this transfer window as they can't guarantee certain player that he going to be playing.
It's obvious that they are using Red Bull strategy, signing a lot of youngsters and older players only under 25 years of age.
But if they know that MB going to leave (if they don't know Bielsa staying or leaving, they are utterly incompetent) , they should already decide who going to be the next manager (rumours are all around) , appoint positions to strengthen, get rid of the dead wood (I have great respect for Coops, Klich, even for Tyler but we should grow as a team) , discuss the players with a new manager, try to get them in winter so they can blend in and adapt, so that they can hit the ground running next season.
If Bielsa staying. Well they should do something as next season not going to differ from this one. If we stay in the league (god help us) we going to struggle again.
Our top players should see that there is a project. Not only on paper.
Well. Right now it's depressing. I can't see us getting in top 15 this season and next season if they going to do the business like they do.

Excellent post White Russian: completely concur on all points.

2.) 31 Jan 2022 11:36:24
Not an excellent post at all, just a very blinkered view of our current situation. You say you understand that we’ve had and by the way are still having an unusual amount of injuries but it seems that you don’t really want to accept that it could be the reason for our difficult season.
To lose more than half your first team squad intermittently through the season so far is naturally going to disrupt the playing flow of the team, no matter how big or small your squad is.
Also what do you mean by a plan? surely there is only one plan and that is win as many matches as you can!
Finally did Bielsa tell you personally that he’s leaving in the summer? because you do seem to be quite certain about it.
There are no actual facts in your post at all, just merely your opinions and that’s fine, because that’s all it is, your opinion.

3.) 31 Jan 2022 12:24:03
Bang on OP. Injuries have crippled us, and it’s is purely down to bad luck!

4.) 31 Jan 2022 13:13:11
OP utter nonsense
we had a full strength team out all through preseason and first 5 or 6 games and LUFC performances were garbage ; nowhere near your Top 6 laughable prediction

Injuries since certainly haven't helped, nor has Bielsa, his team selections, under performing favourites and bizarre substitutions

It also is most pertinent that LUFC team have most certainly missed its most determined ' fighters' in Alioski, Pablo even Berra who were foolishly let go.

5.) 31 Jan 2022 13:58:16
Baz you are very miss guided on your opinions of our club,
Good luck with your life.

6.) 31 Jan 2022 14:13:49
That is your opinion top 6 OP, the league position of LUFC of bottom 5 all season it is you that is tad delusional
Bon chance.

We now have quite tough games ahead. We should get as much points as possible because in December we going to face all the title contenders. So we should get as far as possible from the relegation bunch. Otherwise it's going to be psychologically hard for the players.
So, I don't think that Bielsa should start any of the youngsters unless it's due to injuries. Especially in defence. Any mistake that will lead to points drop can effect their confidence. Actually I can see Drameh or Cresswell substituting Ayling and Coops only in case of injury. Bielsa would rather move Phillips and Dallas into back 4.
Although Gelhard and Summerville might come for last 15-20 min to get a sniff.

White Ruski.

Right now I would play Drameh ( or Baby Shack) over Ayling or Dallas at RB.

We also really need to start scoring more goals in order to try and win matches;

therefore for starters we need game changers coming on from the bench give me Geldhardt over Roberts any day of the week.

2.) 20 Sep 2021 15:07:56
Much as I love Bielsa his stubbornness at playing people in alternative positions rather than bring in a young specialist is starting to drive me bonkers! I would love to see Drameh, Cresswell, Gelhard and Summerville get debuts against Fulham.

3.) 20 Sep 2021 16:28:10
spot on Cambridge; would not surprise me that Bielsa stubborness on this is most frustrating for many Leeds supporters
really hope those 4 young men play against Fulham and are properly involved in first team thereafter.

4.) 20 Sep 2021 20:42:59
Bizarrely that same stubbornness got us promoted to the the Premiership and in finishing in 9th place first season up.
I highly suspect there will be a number of U23’s playing tomorrow due to our very heavy injury list.
Also worth noting that Fulham will be missing some key players due injuries.

5.) 20 Sep 2021 21:20:58
Im sure Bielsa will play the Younglings when they are ready. Have we forgotten about what happened at Crawley already?

Andrea Pirlo on the comparison to Yorkshire Pirlo: "It's true. In England, there's never been this kind of player. There have been great midfielders over the years with different skills. There's the boy at Leeds, who's a bit of a regista.
But we're a bit different. He doesn't have the same characteristics I had. You've always had box-to-box midfielders, like Frank Lampard. ".

If Grealish is a 100 mil player and didn’t play as much Euro, KP who was one of the most important players to this side can’t be a 60 mil player.
Maybe the release clause is switched on if we go down or something… Clearly it’s better to have higher buy out clause (80 is more like it) and a gentleman agreement that if a good offer comes we going to let you go for say 70 or even lower if you would be really keen on the move.

And he is just 21. Wales international. Played in the Champions league. Scum to be fair have great players at his position. And he got quite a lot of minutes in this squad.
Ole is a piece of s**t manager. Imagine he would be in charge of our team… we would get relegated last year.
Bielsa can make any average player look more than decent. And if he has a grain of talent (and he does) he can transform into a great player.
I’ve heard that some scum supporters are really gutted that he is going as they see his high potential.

Oh, he is utterly useless. CSKA strikers are not performing still he can’t get into the squad. Don’t think even Bielsa can teach this guy anything.

Well, I don’t mind Asensio if he agrees to a pay cut. He used to be quality player.
Will increase status of the club as well. Such deals shows other players that we are building a serious project.

I would add: ease up the training. We need to have all hands on deck. As we had no incomings this window, and the squad is so thin.

I would prefer few loans. We have to strength too many positions and I don’t think we have funds to buy quality players as they would cost stupid money. Every team can see that we are in desperate situation. Like Newcastle. They going to be robbed. They need players and obviously have a lot of money to spend. So any player going to cost twice more.
So loans with option to buy would be ideal. I would even be ok with some average or ageing players to have some quality on the bench when everyone will be back.
And for our young lads, they going to have their chance, cause I don’t think all those injuries will end this season. We were waiting all our main players to be back whole season and yet the situation is getting only worse.

And let’s not forget only Rapha hit the ground running. So none of the new signings will make immediate impact. Unless they are world class. And this means we going to pay stupid money and/ or wages.

But if we don’t get at least couple players in it would be absolute madness. We can’t compete with only youngsters on the bench. I would prefer if we had someone more experienced ready to go.

If Bielsa really wants to leave at the end of the season, I think it would be wise to decide on a new manager in advance. So we don’t end up like Spurs. They might even try to get some players for a new manager in Jan to give them time to adapt and blend in…

I don’t want Bielsa to leave right now, but also I’d like to see some dead wood out. No disrespect, but I’m a bit tired of Coops mistakes and Tyler even near the bench.

I’m a bit worried.
First: the players, who were the key to our successful run last season are not showing anything this year. The only highlight are the form of Rapha, KP and Meslier. Others are bang average. Bamford is not that clinical anymore, Dallas is a shadow of himself. Harrison as well. Maybe I judge them based on the 2nd part of the last season, but still.
Second: injuries can as well be the result of training or lack of rest due to Euros (in case of KP) or smth wrong with the medical stuff…
Third: new signings are not bringing anything at the moment. Well we are all aware that there is some time to adapt to Bielsaball. But right now we don’t have that time.
Forth: Bielsaball itself is not new to the EPL. Leeds won some hearts of neutral football lovers and became 2nd favourite team for a lot of supporters. But also every manager of EPL team knows what going to happen. And it seams that it’s not that hard to think of counter tactics. Well Bielsa changed few things, but is it enough?

So I’m a tad worried.

On the flip side:
I have great faith in our youngsters, especially Gelhard! I still think that Firpo can come good (maybe a bit delusional…) and DJ even more (much better than Costa at very least) .
And the most absurd thought: can we sent Roberts on loan and bring back Bogusz. Might be to many brew inside) ) )
Other teams will be struggling through the season as well. So I’m not panicking yet. But if we won’t win tomorrow I might start.
