Having watched that performance on Saturday and many more poor ones thus far this season, here’s my take on my observations.
We were brilliant last season and teams have clearly figured us out now
,
We don’t have a clear plan B

Our recruitment ( besides Rapha and Meslier) has been poor since promotion and injuries have compounded this.

Also we’re are pretty much still a championship squad, with a few aging players who Bielsa’s training style has possibly caught up on ie the injuries and players loss of form or Dallas and Bill and klich

c.v. and empty stadiums helped us greatly last season while we rode the crest of the promotion wave.

The emergence of Rapha has changed our dynamic as every player now just looks to Rapha to win us the game.

We he loss of Alioski has hindered Harrison having lost his overlapping runs leaving space for Jack, Firpo just runs into the space Jack needs rather than over lapping to create space.

Let’s not forget league one Liam.

In short we need to recruit better and increase the squad size and quality.

I do believe this will happen as I also believe this is Marcelos last season and the board will want to be building a bigger squad for his replacement, it was implied after the summer window that the club wanted more signings but bielsa didn’t,

I do love Marcelo and we owe him so damn much for what he’s achieved and done for us, however I do feel he has taken us as far as he can and he has been given too much power/ say on certain things ie recruitment.

We need to go reasonably big in January, LB, ATM, ST,

Let’s not forget that next summer we probably also lose Rapha and Kalvin so January is massive for us going forward.

Excellent surmising Me, that is where we are at currently
January is going to be Victors most important window ever, we desperately need creativity +goals.

And let’s not forget only Rapha hit the ground running. So none of the new signings will make immediate impact. Unless they are world class. And this means we going to pay stupid money and/ or wages.

But if we don’t get at least couple players in it would be absolute madness. We can’t compete with only youngsters on the bench. I would prefer if we had someone more experienced ready to go.

If it was Bielsa’s decision not to have more players last summer, why would he in January?
Surely he forecasted if we did have a pile of injuries all at the same time he was always going to utilize the youngsters, which incidentally he has been known to do throughout his managerial career. So a lot of people who have been complaining that he doesn’t use the youth players well, now he does!

Also, what great world class players are we going to raid in January? A twenty goal a season striker from league 1 perhaps. Proven quality players have very big price tags attached to them.
This club is only just starting its evolution in the Premiership, it’s going to take time to build a squad that’s going to compete at the top level.

I think we are very fortunate to have Bielsa at the helm building his brand of football into this club that will be built upon in the years to come. To be wishing him away so soon is madness.
Kal owes Bielsa for making him the player he is, sure enough he may leave when Bielsa decides to go but I’d put away your thoughts of both of them leaving next summer. My guess is that there’s at least another season from Bielsa.
