On a more positive note, if we can keep hold of most, or all, of our players we have a half decent Championship side that will probably do well going forward into 2026. Not straight away of course.

We will storm the champ Hess with these players and a decent striker. But been there done that right ?.

Hess here's where it gets so funny then

Majority of those players then will genuinely believe they're too good for Champo ?,

It's mind boggling how it will happen but it certainly will,

Qué Sera Sera now from me, it actually ruins your week, and yet nothing changes regardless of it all .

No doubt we will get some usual " we all in this together " muck now this week from some players or worse again from Farke.

The players we signed over the summer have probably got similar cluases in their contracts that Orta and Co. agreed with 20% wage reduction and can leave on loan if we get relegated. Think we'll start seeing more and more of this sort of contract in the prem, it's a way of attracting half decent players to a lower half prem team.

Here here Chris. It does ruin our week.
And yeah. The irony of storming the championship because not prem quality.
And there are people to blame right.
You lot pay good dollar for this rubbish show.
The people in the know. Don’t know.

The 3 relegated teams this season probably thought they'd storm the Championship this season, but as of now Ipswich are 8th, Southampton 15th and Sheffield Utd 22nd - not many storms there. If we go down again we'll lose any half decent players we do have (eg Harry Gray) , the Elland Rd expansion plans will be postponed maybe indefinately, and we could be back down there for a few seasons or more.

Even tho we lost, the performance yesterday was an improvement on the 2 previous games so fingers (and everything else) crossed.

For more years than I care to remember we've all been crying out for a half decent striker. One time when the window closed and we'd failed again to sign one we were promised "sorry but we won't make the same mistake again" and then they did. Whilst I'm doubtful about the value of the xG metric, I note that in all but 3 of our games this season (Arsenal, Brighton and Forest) we've registered higher xG than the opposition (eg yesterday 1.52 versus 1.21 for Villa) but still only won 3 of them.

The blindingly obvious problem is that when we create scoring opportunities we can't convert them into goals. Until we find someone capable of putting the ball in the onion bag consistently we'll continue to struggle.
