If Daniel Farke keeps this team up a statue of him should be built.

Agree4 Disagree0

Couldn't agree more.
Very underwhelmed with the lack of backing he has had.
Hopefully the togetherness the team fostered last year helps them overcome the odds.

Absolutely abysmal that tonight lads, the lack of commitment to DF from the 49ers is poor to say the least.
Posters on here have said it’s because we are new to the Premiership and our relegation odds are high so that could put them off, fair point indeed, but when I see Bournemouth (who’s stadium holds a pittance to what Elland Road holds, and the fact that it’s not a big club like Leeds) , then sign Jimenez from AC Milan when we were after him months ago, it breaks me, I mean WTF is going on?
We seem very weak in the transfer market, we don’t seem to be dominant enough, we don’t seem to be able to sell the Leeds United project, never mind the dream!
Why are we being bullied out of deals and then why do we totally miss the boat when it comes to getting a deal over the line?
Chelsea’s Delap got injured so they got back their other striker from Sunderland who was on loan there, Chelsea paid the Mackems compensation but it still left Sunderland short, but within 48hours they had a £21.7M replacement signing over the line plus 2 others, for me they deserve to stay up, whereas for me, we don’t.
Are the 49ers deliberately trying to force Daniel out of the door? It looks like it to me, why, well for me DF is not high profile enough for their ego!
We just never get the owners we deserve do we, we always get those with an agenda don’t we? Bloody sick of it I am as many of you on here will be.
All we want is somebody to own us and feel the way we supporters do about our club.
Today has been a disappointing day, if DF pulls this round then he does deserve a bloody statue outside the gates, but I don’t think he will be with us much longer.
Always Leeds, MOT and ALAW ??.

Sunderland have no where near the PSR restrictions as us (nor Bournemouth) . Remember we are an ex EPL team that lost a fortune in our relegation year, unable to offload (sell) many of the expensive recruits that we took on that season. (Remember all those loans) . We basically had to sell our Crown Jewels last season to not contravene PSR rules for the championship that are even more onerous.

Nobody has come in for our “deadwood’ (not my description or opinion) , but no one wanted all those players people have been clamouring to offload (Mes, Piroe, Harrison, Aaronson, Bamford’s etc) . Again, selling these players was always unlikely (or imo desirable) .

We don’t have the money, the appeal or the prospects to attract the marquee signings. (Yet)

People accuse us of “rose tinters, ” of not dealing with reality; seems to me, plenty around here of the negative persuasion are the ones who can’t get reality.

Spot on Woody.

02 Sep 2025 00:04:30
Ok ani.
Let’s not forget we sold 3 players for over 100 million season before last.
I’ll take on board your knowledge of ours and Sunderland’s financial situation though.
What happened to the owners saying that the cash was there for a big money signing? Maybe they meant Perri

We Have been hoodwinked.

We bid apparently over 30 million for Paixo.
Where was the PSR problem then?

02 Sep 2025 00:23:36
Cheers LUFC mate, and Ani, spot on post mate ??.

02 Sep 2025 01:13:54
But yet Ani only 2 seasons ago all those "" deadwood "" were being defended by many,

Strange that, no 1 wants our dross, why's that do you reckon?

Because 2 year ago they weren't dross seemingly, it was moaning for pittance sake to label them as "" dross ""

Strange that the narrative can shift so easily!

Chris, I have never ever called a Leeds player dross or deadwood…but plenty have here.

The narrative here changes every couple of hours.

Plenty here saying get rid of Bamford’s and the like and then outrage when they do. Plenty of other examples.

Even today plenty saying Wilson would be hopeless and he’s not wanted etc. The moment he’s not coming, outrage!

Corkey…I didn’t forget we sold 3 players…read my post again.

It was estimated that we had around £120M to spend in this window and we have essentially spent that in full and probably would have, had business concluded as hoped today.

As others and I have said, I’m pretty sure the club expected to sell players in this window as well to fund offers of £30M…. we have hardly sold anyone of merit. Who knows why that is…probably the wages their on.

I think we had closer to 100mil to spend. We were already at just over 90 net spend.
Which is why we were trying loan deals and then offering around 8 mil for Wilson supposedly. It seems theOwners couldn't or Wouldn't spend more, which ruled out permanent deals for pretty much everyone.
Sunderland were obviously in a better financial position with the PSR regulations and offloading Bellingham.
We were definitely expecting some sort of fee for Meslier and possibly some others?
A big issue for me is signing players with injury issues.
It's imperative DCL and Nmecha stay fit AND perform to some extent. Also that DJ rediscovers his champo form, Okafor turns out to be Luis Figo.
And Perri to win the Golden gloves (Already on 2 clean sheets haha) and we might have a chance. M. O. T
