Aus, to an extent I think he is right. Looking back on previous seasons there is a correlation. But, like you when I read it, I took it literally and got the hump. With a few seconds thought I can see that Leeds had the "great defence" that he was speaking of. We were 2nd best in the whole championship.
Our improvement was that we didn't bore the pants off our own supporters like Burnley did. I can't imagine the Sky Sports television producers are avidly waiting on Burnley's fixture list for the coming season.

Spot on axe.
No good having best defence if you can’t score.
Play 8 at the back like against us and you rely on 3 upfront and luck. Like against us.
Play entertaining football with tried and tested formations.
Bingo. Numero uno cocker matteee.

Best defence in Championship is irrelevant in the Prem.
What happens when you concede, which in the Prem you will - frequently!
Your only chance is to be able to score goals, which thankfully we can and Burnley can't.

It's no use going into a EPL game, knowing in all likelihood, only one point is available.
We're going to concede a lot more goals and our survival stems from scoring a few in my opinion. I hope we "have a go" and don't suppress our natural game. We have to be pragmatic and accept we will have far less of the ball than we are used to. This season, the defences of the EPL have been quite poor; only one team conceded less than a goal a game.
If you look at the EPL table the last time we were back in the EPL, defences were far stronger; we only conceded 48.
