All this talk of 'positive, 'negative' or 'defeatists' posters. I could go along with it if the fans were part of the playing, coaching or backroom staff they would have be keeping confidence up and motivating the team. On this site I don't expect anyone has that connection. So what we should is say as we see it objectively. I posted some time ago that the current situation was developing. The chickens are coming home to roost as we struggle against so called lesser teams who defend as though their lives depend on it. Without have a predatory striker or creative NO. 10 + other short comings we need to score two goals early on against these teams to get them to push forward as well as boosting our own confidence. If we don't our performance dips quite quickly and we struggle. Add to that there is the pressure of expectations and I am not convinced that some players are haunted by the fact that if we go up they have to leave the club. We have players that share goal scoring and assists but we often need a bucket full of chances before we score enough. Aeronson, Piroe, Janes, Solomon and Largi do score goals but if the game is tight they do miss a hell of chances and opportunities. Couple that with a goal keeper who makes expensive mistakes and a defence which can go to sleep at times and panic you have a problem we the winning post is within touching distance. We have a history of bottling it. Two season under Bielsa were the exceptions nut we a very good team which included Bamford (Playing out of his skin) , Hernandez, Phillips and the likes of Alioski and Ayling and Dallas. We lack a bit of that when compared to the present team.

I think we’ve done very well this season considering we haven’t had a more ruthless number 10, however Aaronson has exceeded expectations but he is no premiership player.
Also our goal haul has been very impressive this season, the way we play is not just to rely only on a striker but also our wingers and wing backs etc chip in with goals.
Playing against teams who play a low block and defend like their lives depend on it is nothing new, teams have been doing that against us all season.
There’s nothing more than pressure that sits with the players now but that’s not just us, Burnley and Sheffield will have to cope with it as well.
Unless there was a number 10 premiership level player who was available and wanted to come to Leeds in January, which there probably wasn’t then bemoaning the Jan transfer window in my opinion is futile.

A little bit harsh Hess? but all in all true. I think we all bemoan the January inactivity, in at least 2 areas that were screaming for change but for some reason (Board/ Mgr) it was deemed unnecessary. As with all gambles, if it had paid off they would be geniuses. As it is we, with second sight, can shout "I told you so"
I think, for some inexplicable reason, we are having end of season jitters. Its now where the backroom boys earn their corn. Even then you have to say that highly skilled (and highly paid) professionals should know what is needed and should not need an outside body to gee them up.

The players are still only human. Being paid a lot of money as a professional footballer doesn’t take away nerves when the going gets difficult.

Winner champion mentality players overcome any nerves OP. no excuses fella!

Omg Baz. how can you talk about winning mentalities as if you know something about them? You should read your posts back for the last couple of seasons. You have no idea what a winning mentality is all about, let alone how to spot one, even if it slapped you in the face with a wet fish.
Stick to what you know, inane banter.

Hockaday Alf! What a winner that man was eh! lol ?
If we make it up, I would like a good solid manager, proven in the Premiership like Iriola, Eddie Howe, or Marco Silva, someone like that. If we don’t go up, it’s got to be Cooper, or similar style of manager, but for now I’m one million per cent behind DF. ??.

Welcome back Axey. Just one thing; it’s not even effing banter from him, it’s just dour bollox and doing my peanut in now! Biggest WUM I have ever encountered!
And Baz, if your vast experience of that winning mentality in so many varied avenues of life, has created this toxic mess that keeps getting spewed from your keyboard, it clearly wasn’t a pleasant, rewarding, motivational or constructive experience for you!
