The thing I’m asking myself is.
We offered the £33m +£6m around 10 days ago, reportedly Wolves never responded to that offer!
So what has been going on in that 10day or more spell since that?
Surely to god there is a second player to be looked at?
On the summer experience I highly doubt that there is or was a backup plan.
Panic frantically behind the scenes then go after a championship striker that won’t be an upgrade on anyone we already have?
I sincerely hope that behind the scenes they are pulling up trees for a quality addition or 3 to match the ambition of the fan base.
Palace have shown their muscles and blown us out the last at, ( JSL was never worth more than £25m IMO) but it shows the clout we lack from not being established in the prem, how we dropped a ball bag last time in the January window.
It seems no lessons were learned.

I thought the general consensus was that the summer transfer window was a 7.5 or 8 out of 10 (particularly outfield excluding goalie) so I don’t understand this “no plan b” “ not learned our lesson” rhetoric - who know how many of the excellent players we signed were plan A players, or whether they were plan b, c or d.
Quite a few of the latter I would guess.

Well, if you don't mind me saying Dave, that's sounds a bit knee jerk with disappointment at missing out on a target. It has happened a few times, but you got to look at the whole scenario. What we bought was the best we could within our means and it ain't worked out too bad! Big money doesn't guarantee big success, look at DCL out performing many big money strikers. We simply have to be prudent and to be fair the board said they will not spend money for the sake of it, has to be the right addition at the right price.
We are on target to achieve what we set out to do at the start of the season and the squad as it is are very capable, the only real worry is injuries etc. 15 games to go and Palace just spent nearly all the Eze dosh on someone who is a massive gamble, will he come straight in and bang the goals in? I doubt it very much. IMO trust the process and the people who make decisions, they ain't done so bad considering!

Dave, it doesn't matter who's blown Leeds out of the water to get JSL.
Is the lad worth £50m, not to me he isn't and therefore Palace can have him.

Boys, I’ve never said he’s worth £50m in my opinion no player is worth £50m.
Yes it’s knee jerk as I’m fed up of us sleep walking our way again.
We missed out on targets in the summer that we romanced and flirted with for ages, and yet here we are doing it again.

Tbh, my biggest worry in all of this, is who's responsible for leaking the info, both now, and in the last window?!

Why are we sleep walking?
We are a newly promoted club with the only expectation of being relegated.
With that position we do not have the attraction that stable Premiership clubs have, plus our finances mainly due to PSR will not allow us to spend more money than other Premiership clubs.
Newly promoted clubs to the premiership are the Lepers of this league, they will always be the last in the line to sign any player of repute.
We have to survive then gradually earn that right.
Being Leeds United is not an entitlement, get used to it.
