So what are people's thoughts on the signings so far. They may not be household names or have premier league experience, but they feel like solid singings with real potential. Some quite shrewd business from the 49ers too, they seem to know how to find good players at reasonable prices.
With Firpo now gone, plus the departure of the loanees (Solomon/ Rothwell) , I think we definitely need:
- Left-back
- Goalie
- Holding midfielder
- Attacking midfielder
- Striker
As I've said before, if the club can identify more players with the same calibre as Tanaka, I'm all for the current approach. It feels like we are aiming for hungry players who want to succeed in English football (in the prem with Leeds) rather than than journey-men looking for the next big contract.
I think the two central defenders we've signed will make a huge contribution. Imagine them mixed with Rodon/ Pascal, and alongside Bogle and a new decent left-back. Despite our amazing season just gone, I always felt we still struggled in defensive situations at time. It's good to see the club are addressing this as a priority.

I'm with you on the need for a goalie and attacking midfielder but I would prioritise an out and out striker. We need an up and at 'em unit who knows where the back of the net is and can convert a good percentage of the chances we create. Piroe unproven at prem level and Patrick will be back in his favourite treatment room five minutes into the new season!
I personally feel that we've got enough talent and cover in holding mids and I would like to see Schmidt given a run out at left back - kids got talent, use him!

Agree with Danny on the five remaining priority positions to fill/ upgrade.
Also reckon Cleggy is spot on with the main priority is an out and out goal scorer.
From what I saw of Schmidtt last season, I think there is potential but he would have to be eased in a t Prem level, so a left (wing? ) back would be my number two priority, followed very closely with a new 'keeper. Much as I appreciate what Meslier has done for us, his errors are going to haunt him while he remains at the club. I could still envisage him becoming France's No.1 one day, but he has to move on and establish himself elsewhere for the good of his career.
Has anyone spotted any likely candidates at the CWC to lead our line?
McAtee or Harvey Elliot as a 10 would be stunning business but I don't think either of them are a reality.

I think for the huge step up it is to the prem we need
GK Perri
2x lb ( gudmunsson/ reguillon ) the latter on a free
1 x Rb as comp for Bogle
CDM ( Stach, Onyedike)
ATM. ( Haidarra, Sara, Hamer)
Winger (paixao, Doan, Pino)
Striker ( muniz, Beto, Demorovic, )
These are sample players or my likes rather than general targets.
We’ve got to get moving on the key ones.
