Is that for real.
Chelsea willing to pay $30 mill for Fulham 17 yr old who hasn't played in prem yet.
That's just ridiculous.

Sounds like the kind of thing that they would do.

I still cannot rationalise Gnonto for £4m. It makes no sense. He looks wonderful but really? Why would Zurich let him go for £3.8m. Youngest ever goal scorer for Italy, super fast, quality touch, very strong but has the ayling flop off to a tea.

Matta Why the nonsense when he was running his contract down and was months away from a Bosman?

As George said mate, contract was running out and they at least wanted a little bit of cash for him rather than leaving on a free.

Another dodgy find by Orta, or was it just luck?

Who we probably wouldn't of signed if the other 2 hadnt rejected us, the immaculate conception which is VO surely would of gone 4 him first seen as he is such an elite DOF.

In theory. If he keeps developing accordingly. By the time he is 21. What’s a proven Italian international striker worth $40 to $50.
I’m glad we didn’t get cdk. Gapko would have been ok.
But there is more profit and potential in this boy.
And if it dosent work. No big loss.

No one is saying he’s the best Dof out there, just he’s not as bad as most would like to see him.
I think he deserves some credit for bringing in Sinisterra who’s going to be more than a sensation at Elland rd and Gnonto who wasn’t probably first choice because he’s still so young and doesn’t have the experience like CDK and Gakpo.
I honestly don’t get the huge amount of negativity towards the man.

I agree he's had some real clangers along the way but Sinisterra and Gnota looks finds so do Adams and Aaronson (maybe influenced by JM) but still landed and sourced when MB here.
Meslier, Raphina, Harrison to name a few.
He has passion for the club too and not jumping ship for the Chelsea money.

Cambridge.

Uncle Victor unsurprisingly hasn't been offered tbe Chelsea DoF job

but donr be naive enough to believe he wouldn't " jump ship" given the chance, I would not blame him either.

Afaik Gnonto was always moving, was just expedited because of other transfers not happening. Think we'd agreed terms but was a matter of if he moved in Jan for a small fee or waiting until a free next summer.

Under Christiansen Victor signed 21 players 17 of whom were dross

Under Bielsa 23 signed 13 were/ are dross, now how's that for being good at your job?,

Statistically 50% of all transfers are classed as failures.
Orta operating around that level I think so about on par with what’s expected.
Unless it’s a Harland, there’s an element of potential failure in all deals.
Don’t take this as a pro Orta post or an anti Orta post!
