What does everyone think about the Chad Hurley (you tube and 49rs) tweet showing a 'de paul university ' sign and then tweeting ' it's a sign? Could be nothing, but a bit weird if it is.

danumwhite

1.) 31 Jan 2021 13:44:01
Well let’s hope that “weird” comes true, eh!?

2.) 31 Jan 2021 16:05:49
Was there a gap?
De Paul or DePaul?
Fairly sure there is such a university.
Havent seen the tweet though.

3.) 01 Feb 2021 02:57:39
It was captioned something like 'well that's a sign' or 'is this a sign? ' Canada. Unless he has invested pretty big though (which nothing seems to suggest) , I don't see what he would know/ have to do with a potential €40m transfer pursuit.

4.) 01 Feb 2021 10:55:59
I wonder if the guy is a joker.
Hopefully something in it but can't see it before summer.

I see the QSI takeover has reared it's head again. Apparently a £120M takeover is in the offing sooner rather than later, (from a source) .
Don't know if it Heinz or HP?

danumwhite

1.) 31 Mar 2020 16:58:26
hopefully Heinz.

2.) 01 Apr 2020 09:00:39
Daddies for me. (Or is that a different subject!? ) 🤔😲😬.

3.) 01 Apr 2020 12:54:06
Bring out the branston.

4.) 01 Apr 2020 15:13:57
cant see anywhere near £120M though unless that is if we are promoted. £80M maybe.

06 Nov 2019 08:27:01
The QSI takeover link seems to be popping it's head up again. The thing is whenever it happens no-one seems to deny it.
Come on QSI, 'SHOW ME THE MONEY! '
🤑💲🤑💲🤑.

Pontus gone then!
Maybe we'll never know the real reason, but just been reading that Monk dropped him for the good of the team. I'd forgotten about that.
Hopefully we have someone better lined up. New kit out tomorrow, so you never know? 🙏.

danumwhite

1.) 09 Jul 2019 06:10:00
He’s one man and no man is bigger than lufc.

2.) 09 Jul 2019 07:37:22
Pontus has come out and said it's to balance the books for ffp, as to it this is true or not, who knows. Not like he is going to admit that it's down to his attitude and why we not held out for a better price of we need the money. How can a team like Brentford pay him upwards of £30k baffles me.

3.) 09 Jul 2019 15:23:33
Is Pontus spinning it?

He is not lying about the "FFP need" if Leeds need his transfer fee in order to pay for the new centre back they had identified prior to his sale.

It feels like Jansson's behaviour at the tail end of the season may have been the straw that broke the camel's back. The powers that be may have already looked and identified a more team orientated centre back

Looking at the management's track record they tend to sell before they buy (Viera before Bamford; Clarke before Costa) .

So I put to you, the jury, Pontus had to leave as soon as possible even if we lost a couple of million over a projected fee. We need his money in order to secure his successor. Otherwise someone else may get in before us.

As a business model I can understand it works well for businesses with limited capital, making best use of the cash flow model.

4.) 09 Jul 2019 20:27:55
Good post Axe.

18 Jun 2019 13:58:43
More talk on Clarke to Tottenham today. Looks like it could be happening. TBH I'd be happy with £20m for him. Don't get me wrong, I don't want him to go, but I don't see him being a player that is vital to getting us promoted.

danumwhite

1.) 18 Jun 2019 14:44:07
I tend to agree unless he features more than he did last season. He made an impact before Christmas when he was coming on but then after his mysterious illness (some kind of disagreement with the club perhaps after the Jan window? ) early Feb he barely played. Do we really have 3/ 4 years to develop him or do we need players who can make a difference right now?

2.) 18 Jun 2019 17:12:31
20MIL? Two 10mill wingers in his place. Go for it.

3.) 18 Jun 2019 18:34:55
£10m needed every year just to balance the books

£5 in reserve for fees, wages, taxes

£5m to spend on players.

4.) 18 Jun 2019 18:57:38
Sorry but I don't wanna see Clarke go. Seen too many of our youngsters go in the past and now we have a manager that believes in youth. Bad move for me! Saying that we might loan him back maybe?

5.) 18 Jun 2019 20:37:55
£20m for a young player with flashes of talent but not proven consistently is good business. Indeed, in games when he came back late in the season looked ineffective at times.

If it happens tho, Radz needs to notably adapt his 'loans and free agents only' mantra. That won't fly following (if this goes through) the club's second biggest transfer fee after Rio. Don't expect or want to break the bank, however especially don't want to see 1 yr loans bust this hopeful investment on a 1 yr promotion folly if we don't make it.

CB possibly Ben White (buy now not loan) Costa (buy) a second winger maybe Harrison given how much Bielsa seems to rate him (buy) and a central attacking playmaker with a killer pass to replace what we lost from Saiz leaving.

Sell, loan or in must desperate mutually terminate those doing nothing for the club (Ideguichi - looks nearly done - Saiz, Sacko, Cibicki, O'Kane, Anita, De Bock) . Jury out on if Casilla is leaving or not.

Use that to give new contracts to those deserving of them Roofe springs to mind (and purchase a new keeper if we do indeed sell Casilla) = fair.

6.) 18 Jun 2019 22:17:18
Mysterious illness? Stop talking nonsense.

7.) 19 Jun 2019 08:55:25
What was it then Cork?

8.) 19 Jun 2019 09:24:02
Ealing, spot on.

9.) 19 Jun 2019 22:00:17
Sorry I thought you were saying he was pretending to be ill! My mistake and I apologize.

I take great delight when a team I hate gets beaten. The trouble is on this site there are too many that seem to take delight when we lose. I don't get this entitled stuff, and I'm afraid to say it does seem to come from Leeds fans more than other teams. WE ARE LEEDS (and we're an average premier league team) and unless someone with a bottomless pit of cash buys us that is all we'll be! So don't expect any glory years to come back any time soon. The sooner you accept this the sooner you'll start to chill out and be happy with our lot.
I've had it with negative posters, this site used to be funny.
OVER AND VERY MUCH OUT!

danumwhite

1.) 20 Feb 2022 16:56:12
We are not an average EPL team though Danum we are a club teetering on relegation

Tara.

2.) 20 Feb 2022 16:59:31
The sooner you take on board difderent points if view to your own can ACTUALLY HAVE MERIT . yet the condescending way you still try to swerve it is what make me a tad annoyed .

I am as much a leeds fan as you danum, but somehow. you seem to think your somehow more knowledgeable and better than me at bei g that same leeds fan .

You can't ALWAys BE RIGHT, life teaches us that.

3.) 20 Feb 2022 17:06:59
Spot on as always Danum, once again the usual suspects are quicker than Dan James, to criticise, Mad Mick used to say fans are things that are capable of blowing hot and cold where as supporters are there irrespective of your current fortunes.

One poster who the week before questioning whether it was time to drop Raphinia are now critical of leaving him on the bench.

When I was growing up Stewart Munnery owned a proper leather mitre football and used to insist on picking himself on the strongest team, even then if it went wrong he would stop the game and take his ball home.

Keep believing Dannum the Leeds fans singing MOT and Bielsa’s name in injury time tells you you’re not in the minority pal.

4.) 20 Feb 2022 17:47:42
Toys out of the. pram time 🤣🤣

When all else fails, "i am sick of this" i gone, rather than stick it. out like. an adult .

Ah well.

5.) 20 Feb 2022 17:47:55
Class: many people comment with their opinions, be they supporters, bloggers or whoever immediately after EVERY game Win, Lose or Draw. That is pretty much standard, the norm

Hopefully there will be three teams still worse than Leeds come end of season but even the rose tinted crew will deep down know that this has been a mess of a season : Bielsa Radz and co are responsible for that.

6.) 20 Feb 2022 17:50:29
great post. We are all leeds, we would all love to be doing well but we are in a bad time. Some will be positive some will be negative both are acceptable

what I fine sad is the abuse on this site. I have been a long time lurker and I have noticed the site become a little toxic at times. My pal is put me onto this site was hounded off it, belittled, insulted, told he was not a real fan and even called an Arsenal fan by a few posters who now post exactly what he said a while back.

we all should be allowed to express our opinions good or bad but also be respectful as this is a great site and it is a shame to lose some great posters like mad mick and my pal who was often negative but always passionate and sadly now looks like he may be proven to be very accurate and insightful.

7.) 20 Feb 2022 18:00:56
Whats your pals poster name?

8.) 20 Feb 2022 18:28:53
At the end of all this hot air that goes nowhere we will still be in the Premiership at the end of this season with or without Bielsa for the new season. The doomsayers will still not be happy even with a new manager and us Rosé tinted will still keep on believing.
Have a beer and enjoy life.

9.) 20 Feb 2022 18:48:14
Alright Bermo.

10.) 20 Feb 2022 18:52:32
Here we go YET AGAIN . OP predictiing the future and telling me how + what i will be doing + feeling .

Its actually as sure as night follows day the mechanics of this site .

OP knows more about leeds than me, because his point of view is seemingly more relevN3t than mine because him + Cork agree on thier points, .

Guess what lads!, get back to me when we finish inside the top 10 this season because the pair of you reckoned that was a shoe in this season after last seasons performances .

11.) 20 Feb 2022 19:00:44
Let's hope you get a prediction actually correct OP for once.

12.) 20 Feb 2022 19:03:52
I can not remember under what name he posted but his real name is Michael and to me he calls himself the oracle, which is annoying and sadly becoming very true.

He is opinionated but very passionate leeds fan. What I find a shame is the posted who were on his back now echo exactly what he said a while back.

I think we will be fine and Bub's will turn this around but I also understand the other view that we are in trouble and will go down.

I will forever love Bub's and be grateful, I think sacking him is paramount to madness but can understand those who want him sacked. I just believe both sides of the argument need to be treated with respect

as I said my pal wanted Bub's sacked ages ago and was slaughtered by the very same people who now want him gone

this is a great site and passion is great, after all we are all Leeds aren't we?

13.) 20 Feb 2022 19:04:58
well said OP. I might even jump back in the hot tub with a pint or five.

14.) 20 Feb 2022 19:39:35
Lots of opinions on here and as they are opinions there can't be any rights or wrongs really. I don't like seeing Leeds fans getting at each other, we are all Leeds after all, but it does show how much this club means to all of us. I'm a Bielsa fan, love him, but we can't continue to concede 2 a game, he needs to change things and I trust he will. At the end of the day we are a huge, famous once mighty club, but right now we are a team which doesn't have the resources to match most of our competitors. Hopefully this changes one day, but Rome wasn't built in a day and some day our team will be able to match our club. MOT.

15.) 20 Feb 2022 20:20:25
Yorkie that was the legend that was, is and always will be Bermondseywhite. Top fella and a big miss fot this site. Writes a decent story as well.

16.) 20 Feb 2022 21:11:34
don't let him know that Alftupper he will be unbearable. He is good fella on set but gets carried away with Leeds, I sat with him in the pub during a game and it was not pretty!

20 Feb 2022 15:03:02
Here we go. Not even half time and the I know better than Bielsa armchair managers are on. I get it having a moan when we get beat by teams around us but not when we're losing to teams with the players the likes of Man Utd/ Liverpool/ Chelsea/ Man City/ Arsenal/ Tottenham have. We cannot compete with these sort of teams even with our first eleven, unless we get a bit of luck!

danumwhite

1.) 20 Feb 2022 15:16:47
Well said pal.

2.) 20 Feb 2022 15:23:19
No hwre you go Danum DEFLECTION

Bubs got. it wrong 1st half, then surprise surprise CHANNGES and now we are level

So don't dare twist this, it was a huge mistake not playing raph.

3.) 20 Feb 2022 15:55:24
Did you not read my post Chris?

4.) 20 Feb 2022 16:03:26
It’s a forum site for all of us to express our opinions isn’t it?

5.) 20 Feb 2022 16:11:22
No danum this is classic rose tinted mob.

You made your point in relation to the workings of this forum .

Rose tinted mob always know best .

Us "doomsayers " can never make a valid point in yere eyes .

My point was very valid tet you will never admit it

Bubs farked it up by leaving raph on bench .

Dressit up all you like, its a FACT.

20 Feb 2022 13:59:52
We don't have a prayer today. Fortunately the next three games aren't the ones we need to win to stay up!

danumwhite

1.) 20 Feb 2022 14:43:30
Don't think we've played bad at all so far. Balance of play has shifted a bit, and that was a poor goal to concede, but we're still fighting for the game.

{Ed014's Note - still well in it, they’ve produced very little and only scored from a corner

2.) 20 Feb 2022 14:53:30
Conceding goal from corner against a team who previously hadn't scored from a corner says it all. #Bielsaout.

3.) 20 Feb 2022 14:56:38
Dillinger can you tell me what game your watching please?
We have not created 1 iota and if that half went on for 195 minute we wouldn't have scored .

How in your face does it have to be? Before you call it?

I am ready for. all the ususal deluded replies we are leeds etc etc etc !

4.) 20 Feb 2022 15:25:55
I am so so happy i made my point vwry very clear, i said 1st half and i wS correct

Raph on 2nd half and my god things have changed .

14 Feb 2022 13:52:44
Just been looking at our premier league stats for this season, and unbelievably Bamford is top for assists, 3 from 7 appearances. I honestly believe if Bamford and Kal had not been injured we'd have at least 7 or 8 points more. I think what I'm saying is it's nothing to do with tactics, substitutions or who we didn't buy in January, but simply bad luck being without two of our most influential players for a big part of the season.

danumwhite

1.) 14 Feb 2022 15:57:40
An ambitious progressive professionally run club and board would not be hamstrung ( no pun intended) by the loss of 2 of their quality players through injuries.

They would have contingency plans with a quality proven player to replace each of these players.

Having two quality proven players for EACH position is vital ; at the very least for the Spine of the team especially TWO goalscoring CFs and TWO quality goalkeepers.

2.) 14 Feb 2022 17:11:23
To have a replacement for the spine of our team like for like would be well over 100Mil. I think it would be safe to say that kind of money is not available.

3.) 14 Feb 2022 17:30:14
Understand about £100M but to only have one proven goal scorer is an issue IMO. We have been fortunate that Foreshaw regained fitness otherwise we would have been in serious trouble!

4.) 14 Feb 2022 18:08:20
OP unless it was all smoke and mirrors some money is there as LUFC reported by reliable sources to have bid £20 million on a currently unavailable player in Aaranson

Or you know they could have thought 'outside the box ' last summer and signed a striker on loan if funds were genuinely that tight, although of course they still managed to find £30 million behind the sofa to purchase MB's obsession DJ on deadline day summer window.

5.) 14 Feb 2022 18:22:12
Baz. Where is the money for the two quality proven players in each position coming from. Only teams that win things have these sorts of squads because players don’t mind sitting on the bench if they’re winning medals and getting paid £150k+ a week. We are no where near that level and maybe never will be again. It’s our second season back. We need to walk before we can run. We are not entitled to anything, just because “WE ARE LEEDS! ”.

6.) 14 Feb 2022 18:59:46
Danum see above
good scouting good players needn't cost a fortune ; and at least the loan market last summer for one or two key positions.

7.) 14 Feb 2022 19:28:46
Danum surely you find it incredible that a PL team whose main striker who has played just 6 games all season is STILL top of an assist chart?

If you don't then I won't even bother .

8.) 14 Feb 2022 20:46:01
Exactly Chris. So if he was playing we’d have won more games?

9.) 14 Feb 2022 20:58:27
No danum my point is we have no one else to step up and that's exactly why we have 5 wins all season. Ridiculous scenario for a PL team to find themselves in

And now I hearing Dallas is gone now for a good spell .

10.) 14 Feb 2022 22:53:01
Why would we have anyone to step up? This is what I’m saying we’re not a big enough club to have another player sat on the bench waiting for ‘the main man’ to get injured. This is why Bielsa likes players to be adaptable, therefore small squad. That’s what got us promoted, that’s what got us to ninth last season. He ain’t going to change.

11.) 14 Feb 2022 23:14:05
But if Bamford hadn’t been injured and we’d spent £30m on a player to warm the bench you’d be complaining that it hadn’t been spent on position X where there are injuries/ people not performing. They don’t have an infinite pot of money (as is very clear) , and have to spend as they see best, and chose not to cover Bamford and focus elsewhere. This may have ended up an error, but on the balance of odds at the time was a risk they thought was correct.

Personally I didn’t think we needed a back up as Rodrigo had shown good signs up front at the end of the season, and would be sufficient for any unavailability, and other areas were more important (granted they didn’t invest there either…) . However I find the whole hindsight approach to blaming historical decisions very annoying.

12.) 15 Feb 2022 01:10:45
In a nutshell, it’s what I’ve said before about thinking outside the box for some reasoning and not just using some knee jerk blame game criticisms. Brock you are right about Rodrigo and be honest with yourselves, can anyone honestly see that we are already in the position to afford let’s say an Olli Watkins to warm the bench for Bamford.
Especially when certain people consider themselves as realists.

13.) 15 Feb 2022 07:26:24
As I said in my 1st reply to danum
" I wouldn't bother "
Now a poster saying Rodrigo is " showing signs" well that's the cherry on top

A bit akin to Comical Ali really in sentiment 🤣.

14.) 15 Feb 2022 07:37:52
And by the way OP " knee jerk " it's February and we have accumulated 5 wins all season and we we have just left behind a scandalous transfer window .

So can you explain knee jerk in that context it's no secret this season has been painful so how you maintain hindsight has provided some clarity on this issue is just silly.

15.) 15 Feb 2022 09:38:56
It’s scandalous in your opinion but in mine, buying in January is desperation and your only going to get rejects like Everton unless you have owners like Newcastle, and where is Trippier now? there most influential player now in the treatment room for six weeks. There were several teams who didn’t buy in January because they know it’s not a good time to buy. Arsenal and West Ham are two I can think of straight off.
Maybe Newcastle should have bought a replacement for Trippier had they had hindsight!

16.) 15 Feb 2022 10:40:54
How the narrative changes in 1 reply OP, you speak of knee jerk, yet you knee jerked a reply with the full knowledge of Kierans broken foot.

Funny though he seemed to be ok in the 2 games prior to injury . West ham reportedly wanted some of our staff so draw your own conclusions to that point.

Does 5 wins all season not suggest desperate measures need applying to you? Obviously not . But hey you always seem to know best anyway so no point in us banging replies back + forth OP.

17.) 15 Feb 2022 12:20:42
Fine by me, since you know best.

18.) 15 Feb 2022 12:22:55
Quality post Danumwhite, I’m with you, OP, Brightwhite, Whiteman1, Class92 and all the others who can actually see past the doom and gloom. It does not matter how many times VO, AR, etc, etc are blamed, it doesn’t matter who’s fault it is or isn’t as to why we are where we are. Injuries, bad buys, no buys, Tyler Roberts, Bielsa it really doesn’t matter how many times it’s repeated it’s not going to change anything, we are where we are for whatever reason and it’s about showing solidarity and getting behind our team.

If you can run the team better, if you have the money to buy better players, if you think you are a better buyer or CEO then get off this site and work your magic at Elland Road. Just remember, The Ridsdale effect, GFH, Ken Bates, Denis Wise, League 1, administration, 15 points deduction, no money, bad bad times! Now look at where we are, the futures bright, we are a well run club, limited money but not steeped in debt anymore, full ground, extension plans, our own training ground and stadium, what more do you want in such a short space of time?

I am happy to say I’m a Leeds fan and I’m dam proud of who has got us this far, we are rubbing noses with the elite of English football, We may be struggling but we are not the worst and unlike other teams we have the potential to get bigger and progress in a way that we can all be proud of and all of which will be done with no debt and money that’s ours. Super Super Leeds 👍👍👍.

19.) 15 Feb 2022 13:42:41
I am, and always will be a fan of our great team but at times I am baffled and disappointed with their actions (or lack of) .
Maybe a tad cynical I know but what if Aaronson was all smoke? Chasing a player who was needed for a CL game now, a player who therefore had a firm NO on him. Maybe it was so the powers that be could say "well we tried" knowing all the while that it was a non starter. Maybe they sighed a huge sigh of relief when the window closed and he was still a RB player.
I accept (for a different reason) that big money may not have been available however we did not need a Buy (at this time) a quality 6mth loan is where we should have been going for hopefully Paddy will be back this season (worse case start of next) . It is this lack of movement that exasperates me.
To add more hurt to my pain is the use of Roberts and the non use of Joffy to solve the problem. that's when I wonder about Bielsa?

20.) 15 Feb 2022 19:27:16
Danum Woody and OP 👍
Short memories and fickle some people.

21.) 16 Feb 2022 07:36:16
Exactly Corky, succinctly put! 👍.

13 Feb 2022 14:54:11
Some posters saying it's terrible that we've just lost 2 games against relegation rivals. We haven't as Newcastle and Everton were never, and won't be relegated. As long as we beat Watford, Norwich and Brentford we'll be ok. As they won't finish above us if we beat them. After saying ages ago the bottom three would Watford, Burnley and Norwich. I now think it will be Brentford rather than Burnley.

danumwhite

1.) 13 Feb 2022 16:16:34
As long as we can stay ahead of Norwich we will be ok I think Norwich will lose 7 or 8 of the games and as long as we can beat them that should do.

2.) 13 Feb 2022 18:08:06
Reckon Watford might stay up.

3.) 13 Feb 2022 18:41:15
So if Watford stay up wee Corky which 3 clubs are going down, obviously not Leeds as you predicted they would finish on 44 points.

4.) 13 Feb 2022 19:22:05
Cork as long as we do I don’t care, Watford fans can worry about that🤪.

5.) 13 Feb 2022 21:16:02
Burnley Norwich and Brentford. Still stick by my 44 pts prediction although it maybe 43.

This is why Bielsa likes players to be adaptable, therefore small squad. That’s what got us promoted, that’s what got us to ninth last season. He ain’t going to change.

Exactly Chris. So if he was playing we’d have won more games?
