Epic performance that was!
Bamford and Dallas totally exceptional. Bamford said he loved that in interview afterwards. 👍👍
Klich and Harrison go missing for me at times tho.
Big worry about Coops and Shacks but we will see how good this squad soon.
Great feeling to hold on to a lead at last, but credit Johnstone in the brom goal for some first class saves.
Top of the tree again. Well done to all

Losing Coops and Shack for 4-6 weeks is a blow, for sure. Berra to start at the back, and Tyler to take over from Shack, with the option of moving Dallas in his place, with Luke coming on back right.

Just had a message from a mate this morning. He has had a Leeds scout/ employee into his workplace and they got talking.
He confirmed LUFC have been talking to Gary Cahills agent recently.
He also said he expected either Phillips or Roofe to go as we need the money!
Sounds drastic. WTF 🤪.

Not saying you haven't met a scout

Not saying you didn't get chatting

But how does a scout know the finances of Leeds United Football Club?

I just don't understand all the seemingly "known information" regarding a multi million pound business.
Why does a guy who can create a multi million pound business, and fortune, suddenly need to tell everyone his financial status. LUFC are not a plc so he doesn't need to tell anyone but HMRC squat

If Roofe goes, so be it. His conversion rate wasn't brilliant last year. Billy Sharp scored more, from less chances. Bamford's isn't much better but it's no worse so I can't say we will be any different there.

If Phillips goes, so be it. He was made by Biesla, from a very average Championship attacking midfielder. I can't believe that he can't find another one. From the videos I have seen I can see White in that position

Pontus went, fair enough. He is nearly 30 so he should be looking to play at the highest standard he can before it's too late. Not sure why he went to Brentford tho

O'Connor and Halme have been sold, fair enough. If they were going to get first team with us then they deserve to find it elsewhere

the same can be said for Wilks. Do I really want him coming back and hindering the progress of Kun and Edmondson? NO
Could he really compete with Henandez, Harrison, Clarke, Costa and Roberts for a wing spot? NO

So far we have only sold one player that was a guaranteed starter last year.

Back to the hot tub for me.

2.) 10 Jul 2019 14:29:52
Hi Axe.
I am not saying this guy knows all the financials of a multi million pound business and I am sure he doesn’t but I am sure people around Elland rd will know roughly whether the club they work for has money to spend or not.
Anyway all I am doing is trying to help by sharing a little snippet of info mainly about Cahill to all of you on this site. Enjoy your day and the hot tub! MOT.

3.) 10 Jul 2019 15:03:30
Phil

Cheers for the snippets.

I re-read my post, it wasnt supposed to sound accusatory as I wrote it so sorry if that's how you read it. I just get perplexed with all the finance talk. I understand that an employee might get a vibe of a business not doing as well as it has. Perks like free coffee and fruit go missing etc etc. I just find others on here label owners as thieves because they are prudent.
You have definitely not said that your post is a more reasonable look at the situation

Regarding Cahill, I could see him do a brilliant job for any lower premiership side, let alone a Championship one. He is definitely a leader, quite easily captain material.

4.) 10 Jul 2019 17:42:07
Cheers Axe. 😎👍👍

Have you seen on Twitteroo Jack Clarkes dad has lambasted Danny Mills view that Jacks move to Spurs will be a backward step?
He states no one knows what is really going on inside Elland rd. Another LUFC fan has a bit if a go too at Clarkes dad only for a colleague of Clarkes dad to also state . if you only knew what was going on inside Leeds Utd!?!?!
Crikey - Does anybody know what they are on about? 😧

1.) 29 Jun 2019 22:56:27
PP Bet you JC Dad correct. Smacks of a forced sale whether JC likes it or not. Can you imagine if he turned down the move? For me, his sale is partly balancing books like Vieira in 2018, partly FFP compliance, but mainly to ease financial consequences of Radz tv rights disaster.

2.) 30 Jun 2019 07:03:54
Lads been shoved out the door . Time will tell whether it’s for a greater good or not .

3.) 30 Jun 2019 07:18:39
Got to agree, sure JC was persuaded by someone from within the Leeds set up that It would be best for him to go through with this deal. Did Find it strange Ian Harte as his agent hasn't had much to say on it but then again as an agent I guess he is unable to speak out, conflict of interest etc. Financially it maybe a great move for JC but his career could end up similar to Sam Byrams.

4.) 30 Jun 2019 09:06:15
My son had a spell at Man Utd academy, prior to joining Stoke

And do you know not once did any member of the Glazer family come up to me and let me know about the financial stability of their club

Even at Stoke, the selfish buggers are only interested in exploiting the talent of young adults and not letting parents know anything about the Profit&Loss or the Balance Sheet

And you know how interested football parents are with the viability of the underlying business

Sorry, a bit flippant, but can't really see how a footballer's dad could know the financial viability of a business. Not sure why the Executive board of such a business would need to run it past one of their employee's dad either

From the little I have seen regarding Leeds United's finances I can deduce our chairman is frugal but also astute.
Our turnover is high for the division we are in. We tend to sell players on for big money so we must be improving them on their journey. We hardly pay big fees when we bring players in so we are realistic in our position in the pecking order at this time.
I would love him to open the cheque book wider, but I don't want to support a boom and bust team. I want a longer term improvement plan. If we don't have the money then for God sake don't borrow it, that's not the Yorkshire mentality.

5.) 30 Jun 2019 09:17:32
Spot on George, JC would not have been looking for a PL club after four first team games. He has been touted around and Spurs have took the gamble. Think a couple more might go yet, replaced with loans.

6.) 30 Jun 2019 10:35:21
Axe, i think it's more likely that as JC's stock is quite high and in reality he is still only likely get limited game time again at Leeds that Radz, Orta, and Bielsa are willing to sacrifice him for a bag of gold now. who knows? Maybe the willingness to do this now is what is what has upset JC's dad. From a person on the outside looking in, the willingness of our club to sell a young talent for what we believe is relatively lower than his true value only helps to add fuel to the fire that our club is struggling finacially, whether this is true or not is anyone's guess. We saw last year another talent to in the shape of Viera go.

7.) 30 Jun 2019 11:05:17
Axe Your post incredibly naive in my opinion. It's not so much about a Dad knowing the financial viability of a club his son plays for, moreover it's about a discussion I'm sure the Clarke contingent had with Radz and co, namely, can we stay? Can we turn down Spurs' lucrative wage offer and concentrate on becoming a football legend here at ER? What if the answer which came back was we'd rather you didn't or a less subtle no? I'm not saying I disagree with the Clarke sale. If I were Radz, I might do the same thing, makes good business sense and we're about to use the proceeds most wisely it seems. The point is young JC seems to have been pressurized to leave and any spin of a greedy bright lights seeking teenager I see through it as fiction. Michael Woods Tom Taiwo Theo Richardson didn't prosper but JC seemingly forced to take this path. As for Mills saying what on earth is JC doing, bit of mischief making and he probably ought to know better. Just my opinion but what do I know?

8.) 30 Jun 2019 11:18:46
Can’t believe anyone thinks this is anything other than Harte either trying to get more money for his client (and himself) or Spurs making a genuine approach as they see a long term future with him at the club.
Conspiracy theories like the club are pushing him out for money, and his dad knowing the fanatical status of the club are pish.
If he didn’t want to go, he wouldn’t go and would not agree terms. Harte probably looked at his salary, compared to Harrison and thought he could get more for Clarke (doing his job! )
For the record, I don’t believe it’s a good move for the lad, he will progress much faster at Leeds and be worth far more in a year or two than being at Spurs, and in a year or two he would command a starting spot in the PL, that won’t happen for him now, it’s happened for so many (Sam Byron, Lewis Cooke etc etc etc)

9.) 30 Jun 2019 11:36:33
Midfield General It's hardly a conspiracy theory. We want to sell, Spurs want to buy. Clarke can in theory turn down the move but what if he knows that will make his current employers unhappy? Don't think the Dad is a lone nut but your theory suggests you think he is.

10.) 30 Jun 2019 11:49:25
Think JC's advisers were trying to play one off against the other to get as much out of any deal as possible. Don't know if Clarke actually wanted to go, so they had to start a blame game to sell the move to JC, running Leeds down to sell the idea of the move to a reluctant JC might be one way of looking at it. Who knows? One thing that must be remembered is no one is bigger than the Club.

11.) 30 Jun 2019 11:52:02
Axe, your post is spot on, and brilliant, in my opinion!

12.) 30 Jun 2019 12:10:44
Axe s statement is very enlightening with the pressent running o ER but I cannot fathom out selling JC for 8 mill only to give citeh 1 mill loan and 1 mill Jack Harrison wages. Plus 2 mill Costa loan plus wages that's over half Clarke's money. A year later nothing.

13.) 30 Jun 2019 16:11:05
George

Apologise for being "incredibly" naive. The counsellor had assured me that I have been doing well and was almost free of my naivety and working hard on my suitability too
I shall report back on Wednesday, when I have my next appointment, that my naivety has plummeted again. This time to "incredible".
Many thanks for letting me know, it's only a really good friend that is confident in telling you your faults because they love you and want you to get better

. however, I still stand by the statement that I have no idea why a chairman of a multimillion pound business would be telling a parents dad whether the finances are healthy or not
I take your point the maybe, just maybe, Jack Clarke's dad may have some how gotten to speak to Radz about his son's transfer. But why on earth would a chairman discuss the financial standing of his company with an employee's dad?

Let's not bicker, come join me in my new "Jacuzzi of Naivety". I have some lovely pink gin I want to try, and the sun is most definitely above the yard arm Georgie, my old font of knowledge.

14.) 30 Jun 2019 16:22:53
Not a question of being forced out. What was said was said was JC had to go to get some money in. JC would not have asked to leave but between the club and his agent a way out has emerged and like any young lad he will take the financial security. No blame lies anywhere it is how football works. Radz was happy to sell Harte was happy for him to sign and i am happy and wish him all the best. When we are in PL in 2020 and he is heading back to Spurs it will hit home for the lad.

15.) 30 Jun 2019 16:35:12
Axe You're on!

16.) 30 Jun 2019 17:54:23
George, welcome in, always room for a fellow Leeds fan

and cheers.

17.) 30 Jun 2019 17:54:55
Great posts Axe. Bermo posted on here that one of the spurs scouts mentioned JC back last autumn and other clubs have been aware for sometime . JC is being offered 20 k a week after 4 championship starts and a 5 year contract with the runners up in the champions league! What’s not to like? Add into that a club with other good English players and a good reputation for developing them and a manager who underpins all of that. It’s in just about everyone’s interests, Spurs, the agents involved, the family, JC and Leeds if we get enough money.

On top of all of that I have the feeling that Bielsa did not see him as a key part of the team for 40 plus matches this year . At First team level this is all part of a plan to optimise the very best performance and position for the team in this one year. The money from Clarke and potentially him back on loan does that.

18.) 30 Jun 2019 18:06:41
Bieslabud, when we are a PL side in 2020 do you think Spurs will loan us Clarke for a 2nd year?

Then he would be learning about the Premiership, as I doubt he would be ready for a top 4 outfit.

31 Jan 2019 23:23:10
Phil Hay posted the James deal is off. I think Swansea may have been waiting to get Bony and Fer off their books to keep him.
Some interesting signings from teams around us notably Mikel to Boro and King to Derby.

I must say I thought we needed 2 extra players before Saiz and Baker left but hey ho we don't know what's going on inside all these clubs.
All we can do now is believe in what we have got to take us back where we belong. In MB we trust. He has taken us top for 2/ 3 of the season only 1/ 3 to go.
Come on Leeds. We can do it. Wins against Norwich and Boro and nobody will be even thinking about this transfer window.
Come on Leeds. MOT.

PhilinPortugal

1.) 31 Jan 2019 23:35:47
Brilliantly summed up Phil, spilt milk. Personally feel very sorry for young James, but pretty sure he will still enjoy a fantastic career and let’s hope it’s with us in the premiership.

2.) 01 Feb 2019 01:17:16
Methinks Swansea were playing games. I don't believe they were negotiating in good faith. They may have mucked us about but their reputation in the transfer market has taken a beating. This will come back to bite them in the bum. Goodness knows what this mess will have done to James' head.

3.) 01 Feb 2019 05:09:12
I don't think the reputation of Swansea will change after today as no one else really cares other than us and swansea. They obviously had a target to get in from transfers and once that was met they could hang on to their best assets hence Fer and James staying. I hope James does what Taylor did with us. stops playing, faking injury etc. There is nothing worse than making a player play when he doesn't want to play for you. Hopefully James steps into that category. They might rue the day. Never the less we will go Marching on. WE ARE LEEDS.

4.) 01 Feb 2019 05:37:25
Spot on Kiwi Leeds. I didn’t understand their reasoning in letting him go to a rival during the season. Maybe at the end of season depending on who finishes where. I think they just wanted to distract us from concentrating on promotion.

Fingers crossed that our squad holds out and we go up. Big gamble not strengthening the squad, but if we do go up, then Bielsa is truly a genius.

26 Dec 2018 21:21:28
Amazing victory today but I think some of the guys looked tired after the villa victory. Their will to keep going was phenomenal. But the Question is will we strengthen in January and by how many?
Does anyone know what the situation is with Edmonsen and Dalby at the mo regarding having a striker on the bench?

PhilinPortugal

1.) 26 Dec 2018 22:37:28
If Bielsa thinks they’d be best on the bench, they’d be there
He clearly thinks they’re better with u23s right now.

2.) 27 Dec 2018 13:36:17
They are going to be tired after this period, for me I’d put the whole of the u23’s out for the cup game if they pull off a win great, if not don’t give a toss get out of that cup this season the quicker the better!

3.) 27 Dec 2018 16:42:16
Totally with you on that Ket, but I reckon the FA would punish us for doing that. We need a cup run like a hole in the head right now!

4.) 28 Dec 2018 03:16:33
Yep agreed Ket. I would rest as many 1st teamers as poss to for the fa cup game. Still don't know what's the situation with Dalby and Edmonsen tho. Are they fit?

Eddie 1st half?

3.) 26 Oct 2019 16:15:45
You’re right Tory. He might as well have just been sat on the touch line for all he brought to the first half. Vast improvement in the second half tho. 🤔🤪😂.

26 Oct 2019 12:11:48
Beckford just said on Sly Sports prefers two strikers up top.
A lot of posters here say that MB does need to tweak it and folk state Harrison and Costa are more of a problem than Bamford.
I 100% agree with that.
They av both been really poor
3-5-2 is the tweak we need. Go on MB and try somet out of your comfort zone!
Cmon Leeds.

Beradi off AGAIN! when are our leaders going to learn that man is a liability. But it all comes down to our small squad, moving players around today.
At least Eddie will get a game soon - at c half!
