Good morrow siblings, well, I know its frustrating, but keep the faith. We don't know the extent of the carnage Radz and Co left behind, or the fullness of the constraints therein. If its good enough for the 49ers to invest in, if its good enough for Farke to commit to us, then that will do for me. If we are going on a world tour let's not be the kids in the back seat shouting "are we there yet" when we have only just driven the car to Dover. There are green shoots of recovery, there is hope. On an up bruvvers an sisters, keep downing the pints and upping the Whites.

What green shoots?
Game 1 of what matters. Dropped points against crap.
You always spurt optimism and enjoyment without any basis.
Season started. Bad result. Fact.

A well worded post vidlufc.

I like most sat there dismayed at half time on Sunday but strangely thought we would pull it back. To be fair it was criminal we didn't get the 3 points that our play deserved, b4 anybody jumps on me i know the defensive frailties from last season were still there but saw a togetherness from the 15 or so players that were involved that definitely wasn't there last season.

I have gone on record recently that we will have enough to gain promotion either auto or through the play offs and i still believe that.

MOT People.

However have a feeling Mr Marathe and co thought getting out of Championship would be ( far ) easier than it is actually going to be.

Dear Aus, without optimism there is no point. Many good performances on Sunday, why pinpoint the bad. To come back from that deficit shows a great mentality and spirit. Money is being invested but the right players need to be bought and that takes time. Give yourself a break and look at the positives or your self suffering will destroy you. Bottoms up old chap ❤.

Bazadamus I think you are right but their perception changed once he discovered the loan clauses which apparently wasn't contemporaneous. I'd hate to see how club would have been left had stooges been deliberately aiming to hurt us. Better off not spending anything on ?, Rutter and Bambi extension. We'd probably have extra £85M floating around.

Vid . plenty of misplaced " optimism" from loads of posters in past 2 seasons.

Bottom line the optimism counted for little, was tad misplaced. Leeds United are a Championship club once more

Aus post above is factual and entirely reasonable.

Maybe so Baz, maybe so, but as we have each pointed out on many occasions, we prefer to live our life with hope, than forever picking out all of the problems, negatives, worse case scenarios and having a hopeless outlook. It’s just the way some people, me included, approach things.

Well Baz, that's fair comment, but it's one game. The first of many. How can we judge a season on one performance. Do you wanna be a "well that's our season done then" or do you wanna be a "let's go again and build". Honestly, I know this is an instant gratification society today but really? Give it a go me old fruit ?.

Can you imagine playing every game this season and deserving to win, but we we lose or draw? No neither can I. In other words does anyone on here think we’ll finish below Cardiff? No of course no one does, because we’re a better team than they are, and over a very long season the better teams rise to the top. On a one off I’d rather draw when we’re the better team (by a mile) than win when we deserve to lose, as that is not sustainable over a full season.

One game in and it’s back to the norm! I’d rather have an optimistic view on life, even if misplaced sometimes, as life would be pretty miserable otherwise!
We’ve started our season better than Citeh, I guess the Man City fans are calling for Pep’s sacking after losing to Arsenal.

Brighty, Vid, Danum and MG all decent well considered replies

Brighty and MG just to put things into Brights favourite current buzz word " context"

I can assure you that under the great Don, Sgt Wilko Jimmy Armfield, DOL I most definitely was not ' forever picking out problems"

Leeds United are regularly winning everything is dandy super positive from my perspective

The facts are there has been far less to be happy about past 2 seasons and so when I and certain other posters express justified discontent it's completely fair and rational.

Vid yep indeed just one game.

and yes indeed. let's go again and build under Mr Marathe and Mr Farke

. I have stated several times previously that I have faith/ confidence in both of them particularly the latter.

Fair point Danum ?.

We somebody with big fog horn mouths sit behind each goal and do talking for our keeper and back men them goal we continued to concead will be avoided you can see there no communication between keeper and players in front of him a Brian Blessed would do.

15.) 08 Aug 2023
08 Aug 2023 20:33:26
I think Brian’s a bit old for that, and he only remembers old keepers from the past. He’d just spend all game shouting “GORDON’S ALIVE! ”.

Issue might be none of thhe back line speak " Franglais" so zero communicating with Gash

Solution: Unleash the Darlow ?.

Question Baz. What was your view on Sgt Wilco’s first game, in his first full season, against the Geordies, when we got whacked 4-2 (albeit without checking…. the Cinzano takes its toll on memory function) ……score probably wrong, but after all of his signings? I recall quite a few saying he was a whopper?

Sunday was a pretty good performance bearing in mind the summer changes, injuries and new faces. Lots of opportunities created, some cracking attacking play, negatives predicted and recognised by the manager and some addressed at half time! I saw lots of positives! Injuries and any poor individual performances only help the Bosses desire to recruit! Given where we’ve come from at the end of last season, patience but don’t overestimated how quickly Farke will be able to sort it out if he gets done key players staying or arriving or both! And there is still time for that! As Farke said second half performance and the draw, massively important!
