Quite disappointed with the signing of Sacko. Last season our defence was rock solid but our offensive players (with the exception of Wood) were average to say the least. Hernandez has quality but needs proper game management, Roofe will continue to improve but for me the rest needed to go and I am afraid Sacko is one of them. His goals and assists were a poor return and he did nothing to justify signing him on a permanent deal.

If we wanted someone who could run fast down the wing but have no end product we should have kept Aidy White. By finishing 7 th we showed great character but it highlighted that we need quality to match our defence and Wood, for me this signing is not one of intent it is one that says we were happy with mediocrity.

Wonderful post from everthepessimist, the lad can only improve and his excellent mentality made him impossible to dislike for me. Almost two years ago now we signed botaka, (whom 0 out of 3 managers he had rated) bless the lad but who would you rather have at RW? I know who i'd have any day. **comment dependant on whether or not he learns how to square it**

2.) 03 Jun 2017 17:41:50
Yeah agree with your comments, I believe we need a couple of experienced midfielders . This would help youngsters .

3.) 05 Jun 2017 12:33:57
Would have preferred Anthony limbombe who we didn't sign, he's got pace, skill and goals.

As a child of the 70's I loved the FA Cup but now it is becoming to mean as much to me as an international break. Today was either GM making a point to the owners or more scarily GM saying I can afford injuries as there are no more players coming in.

I have hope for Coyle and Denton and in fairness whilst the 3 debutants did not pull up any trees they did OK in a poor all round team performance.
Grimes is awful but he will not get near the first team thankfully. Doukara played as thought he didn't want to be there , while Dallas should not have been subject to that.

The worry is the lack of quality and class shown by Antonson, Cooper and Phillips.
Let's hope nothing happens to Wood, Bridcutt or Kyle & Pontus.
The only positive thing to come out of this weekend is Derby and the dog botherers still being involved in the competition.

The FA Cup is an after thought due to overseas interest. No one wants to win it any more because it's worth nothing compared to the Champions League, which annoys me. But on a weekend when Liverpool went out as well as the top 2 in the championship all to lower league sides, it's given us the chance to slink out the tournament without too much notice. It bothers me but not as much as we've a tad more to play for this time around. Cooper should never see a Leeds shirt again, I said that the day after he signed for us. Debuts are what they are, some are good, some are bad some are indifferent. Coyle weren't all that good today but was awesome vs Derby. I agree about Grimes, terrible player who has no business at our level. I'd cut short his loan and forget he was ever here. Malik Wilkes can't be judged due to circumstances out of his hands, fair play to the kid for even showing up. It's not panic zones yet by a long chalk, 3 new signings before Tuesdays deadline and a win against Blackburn and Huddersfield and we'll be all asking "Sutton who? "

Have a look at the guys stats in the Europa league. Topped a group that included Olympiakos and Young Boys. Then beat Athletic Bilbao before losing 2-0 over two legs to Anderlecht who then pushed in the next round. A 60% win ratio, obviously very organised and whilst the Cypriot league is not full of quality, to me he seems to have the basics of someone with promise. Whether that is a good enough grounding for the Championship time will tell. But then is the new guy at Sunderland coming from the Scottish Prem any better qualified or the Russian at Hull? Villa will walk it, followed by Derby, Wendies, Fulham and hopefully ourselves. All to play for and who knows AR just might have unearthed a gem. MOT

Pretty good - here's hoping!

2.) 15 Jun 2017 21:08:51
Villa will walk it? methinks not, Derby might be there or thereabouts, Fulham maybe, if they set off winning and not drawing so many, and the Wendies I can see falling away . which leaves us ! ! not to mention S'land, Norwich etc etc

Like a few people I am not disappointed with GM's departure. He/we had a good season but in fairness it was our back 5 who all had stand out seasons, in too many games they saved us not GM's tactics. You can count on one hand the amount of games we totally dominated, too often we were missing for the first half and too often the whole game. I personally would like to see us try for a manager with a pedigree someone who is actually managing a club rather than someone who is out of work. Top of my list would be Tony Pullis or Mark Hughes loads of experience, contacts and managers who demand a work ethic. It might sound pie in the sky but if Radz wants to build a club then give someone that responsibility to mould the club and get the foundations in place that see us get back into the premier league and stay there. Dyche would be a good choice as well. After Hockaday, Evans and Warnock, Monk was a refreshing change and let's hope our new owners actions match his words and he is building something special at ER and that he starts by making a forward thinking appointment.

Pardew for me

2.) 26 May 2017 23:10:44
Pardew is a liability. Chairman mike Ashley had too pay off his gambling debts whilst at Newcastle and was rumoured to be friendly with a players missus. Not exactly trust worthy imo. Each to there own. Lol.

3.) 26 May 2017 23:32:39
Dyche makes sense, knows the division and how to get out of it but why would anyone want Pullis or Leslie? Neither has done anything of note. Same for Pardew to be fair. We either need a big name, another young up and comer or someone with a track record of getting promotions.

4.) 26 May 2017 23:48:00
Let's face it. dyche hardly going to leave Burnley. Up n coming pep the man.

5.) 27 May 2017 00:29:47
A lot of Burnley fans seem to want the club to ditch Dyche and bring Monk in it seems (on social media anyway) . Would rather swap Burnley for Dyche than Bourgh for Karanka.

6.) 27 May 2017 15:31:18
Don't like Dyche . Not wanting to sound gingerist. Don't mind ginger hair, but ginger facial hair is a step too far.

Great result today and once again our class performers turned up The back 5, Bridcutt and Wood. It was a good team performance against a team of good individuals. I can't help but wonder how many goal Wood would have if the service to him was better.

I am afraid Sacko is not up to the job, head never up, a total lack of awareness and I would say poor decision making but I am not sure he actually makes any. It has been terrific watching the boys this season and GM, PC and JB deserve all the plaudits and accolades they get. The Wendies just going to prove that money doesn't always talk, but having said that if the new owner backs GM I think we might well see full houses at ER become the norm.

1.) 25 Feb 2017 22:45:36
I get the impression that Sacko is a tad thick. Never seems to learn from the same mistakes. Pace is his asset but he doesn't know how to use it properly, final ball is very poor. Despite that he had the beating of the left back who was subbed at half time

2.) 26 Feb 2017 01:49:24
Not a fan of sacko. Thought ok performance. Wendies not up to much. Plus points wood. Ayling. Green. Beradi was brill
Thought pontus form has dipped. Good win though. Never really looked in trouble.

3.) 26 Feb 2017 11:32:05
Mixed thoughts about sacko. Can be fantastic for running and scaring defenders to ☠️ with his pace. But his end product needs improvement. Me and a few others on here have said that he has massive potential to become a huge ⭐️. His pace can't be taught but lifting his head up just before crossing the ⚽️Can be. I would have expected that by now 🐒 or one of his coaching staff would've pointed this out to him.

4.) 26 Feb 2017 15:08:55
beridi was brill? now aus i know you watched it on telly like me so this must be bate for me to bite. and i shall slightly, he was ok but you have mentioned woods touch which i think is quite good what about the four times beridi miss controlled an easy ball three of which lead to a goalscoring chance by wendies?

5.) 26 Feb 2017 15:15:15

Speedy. How much 💰are they offering? Just got a new 📞in the new year and trying to be a bit more down with the kids. Or maybe just trying to hang onto my yoof and going through a midlife crisis. Lots of 💙, 🚽cas 😜

7.) 26 Feb 2017 23:20:38
Bw. Fact is they didn't score and if beradi hadnt passed that perfect ball, nor would we have!

8.) 27 Feb 2017 01:12:59
Agree Aus, I'm a Berardi fan, to the point where I think that with the way Monk had been to re introduce players after injury and suspension, Taylor might just be sidelined for Birmingham?

11 Feb 2017 21:17:18
Not a great day to be honest and hard to explain. A couple of things that were disappointing were the lack of a response from the defeat last Sunday and the lack of a plan B. We started off well knocking the ball around with confidence and the new lad Sag looks as though he will be a decent addition over the coming weeks. But it was a typical Warnock away performance two banks of four, waste time at goal kicks and throw ins, niggle frustrate etc etc. But then we ran out of ideas. If Wood is not involved then our options are very limited and he had a poor game today. Hernandez tried but the gap between our midfield and attack was to big. There was no variation at corners for example ( try a short one ) . The ref was poor but so were we. It is difficult to criticise as we have had an excellent season so far but in all honesty I would rather us miss out this season and smash it next year. Exit for Grimes, Sacko, Cooper, Antonson and Green. Sign up Bartley and get more fire power and central defensive cover.

1.) 12 Feb 2017 11:56:16
wasn't sacko our best player yesterday and the only one who got at the opposition and stretched play?

2.) 12 Feb 2017 14:11:50
No Berm, Berardi the best of a bad bunch. Sacko pace when he gets free but as with most of his season absolutely no end product. Crosses never beating the first defender or to close to the keeper. Never gets his head up to look at the possibility of someone running on to the ball. Doesn't do enough for me and signing Sag and Barrow suggests that GM feels he is not fulfilling his potential.

3.) 12 Feb 2017 18:26:59
i agree, i like sacko and rate him but clearly monk don't due to people he brought in and of course monk must know. a lot of posts on fb all said sacko was our best player but that is only what they said and i don't know many of them and most post on fb are very moronic so i take them with pinch of salt. I don't rate berardi at all really so must of been a bad day if he was best of a bad bunch

4.) 12 Feb 2017 23:05:02
Have to agree that beradi was best for me although roofe tried his hardest to change things and gee us up as did sako.

As lots before have said previously, yesterday was not good but I do think that progress is being made. Viera looked very good yesterday especially next to Bridcutt. We looked a lot better with Bridcutt back in midfield someone who is always wanting the ball. I would like to make a couple of points comparing this team with the Evans regime of the same time last year.

We now have leaders on the pitch in Bartley, Pontus, Bridcutt, Ayling and Wood. Also after the final whistle Monk quietly disappeared down the tunnel letting the team take the plaudits, compare that to Evans the self promoting best manager in the world. Monk knows we do not have the quality in certain areas but I for one believe given the funding he will bring that quality to our club MOT and Merry Xmas everyone.

Sorry Notts and Degsy can't agree. He does not do enough for me and does not have certain qualities that our style of play needs. Too often he was beaten to the ball by their centre backs and he gets caught offside far to much. He is our most expensive signing our highest earner and I want him to be a handful to play against but I did not feel he was yesterday. Beechio of a few years ago would be a great fit in this system and style of play.

Sorry BM but Swansea are only a Prem side because they sacked Monk.
Kray if Tony Pulis plays dull and unproductive football what have we been watching for the past 5 years?
Ask Palace fans about him, never been relegated as a manager, organised and experienced.
Monk had two weeks on the training ground after the Forest game and produced that performance! What did they work on then? They are his players and his tactics and system ( what ever that is)
Not good enough.
