Am I the only one who thinks Rossini would have been a better option that mark Hudson of Cardiff city he's like 32 and Rossini is only 25. He came out the other day and admitted his reget about not signing for us and MC says he didn't do enough in his 3 days training with the squad.whos going to do much in 3 days with a new squad of players + he's Swiss and most of our squad is english so language could have been the problem.id give him another chance instead of Hudson.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Rumour has it his attitude was deplorable and did NOT train as hard as the others!!

Agree0 Disagree0

His attitude stunk apparently not the fact he didn't do much in 3 days! besides the others done well in 3 days that's why they are now on board. it's about time players wanted to. play for this club not take the bucks and not give a monkeys! according to yeps report with mc tonight vivian/bread i 2 more players offered more money to join others but mc done deals on lower wages and incentives if we go up
read it guys! mc and selino are pulling out the stops for us reckon 5/6 more players at least to join us
oh happy days me thinks

We need a bit of experience and leaders in the squad, which Hudson would bring. Remember he captained Cardiff to the title, which would be a plus to have around the squad.

Sorry folks but in 40 years of following Leeds I have never felt as depressed about a new season. As a Leeds and England fan I find it appalling that all teams are happy being owned by foreigners content to sign mediocre or worse talent from overseas. Let's be honest every name linked with the club has failed to make it in their own country and has to be googled to find out who they are. Surely there are British lads playing up and down the country, perhaps in reserve teams who would leap at the chance to resurrect a sleeping giant, if only we had the leadership, and there lies an even bigger problem!

Could not more strongly disagree. MC clearly a savior. Did the necessary cost cutting. We are no longer owned by Haigh et al. Need I say more? Please judge signings and the Hock after 20 games not before. I also have news for you. Finding young British talent is not what it used to be 20 years ago mainly due to influx of foreigners but only way to alter that is when you are at the top. We are not. It takes serious money to obtain such talent. MC shouldn't have to pay 10 million for such players. Too risky at this stage. I believe the incoming players from serie a and b are better than you think.

Agree0 Disagree0

2-3yr plan mate stick it out unless you wanted Bates to stay!!!
Spurs went out and spent over £100,000,000 in 2 months last season look where it got them!!!

MC has a plan, give him time, let him build then criticise if it don't get any better, what else did we have REALLY apart from admin?

Agree0 Disagree0

The english lads would cost 4/5 times as much though, that's why all, clubs look abroad for players, I for one am feeling happy about this season, sick of signing 30+ englishman on big wages

I, on the other hand am looking forward to the new season with hope in my heart and anticipation to the max! Regardless of signings or coaching staff that have not yet had an opportunity to prove themselves - I live in the hope that we shall do well and be exciting to watch. Our owners - I have faith, for the first time in years we have someone who loves the game - as I love the game! If he loves my team as I love my team then I shall continue to invest my time as he continues to invest his (and his cash!). So cheer up and look for the good and not the bad! I shall be miserable as and when we lose - as I always am! MOT

Really this is the worst you've felt about a new season considering our history I'm absolutely GOBSMACKED (pardon the capitals).

Agree0 Disagree0

Just because we have not heard of a player doesn't mean he's second rate. I for one think Cellino and Salerno know the Italian market and Viviani is one of the hottest young prospects in Italy. An equivalent English player would cost five times the £2 million we are supposed to be paying (Ross McBadgekisser). On that note, when did we last bid £2 million?. not for a long time.
MC is a breath of fresh air in my opinion. He ain't scared to splash the cash but won't throw money away on garbage, the complete opposite of the previous two administrations.

I'm surprised by OP. Along with many others I'm excited with all the changes at ER, and looking forward to the new season. Let's face it, it has to be better than the last. At last we have an owner with ambition, rather just filling his back pocket at the clubs expense. I personally couldn't give a t=ss what their nationality is, as long as they give their all to Leeds.

Agree0 Disagree0

This is the best pre season we have had for years. Trust in Don Cellino. Even the part timers should be happy.

did some undercover scouting for leeds as was at the millwall dartford game. Dartford are confrence prem or whatever it is called and their team includes ex leeds keeper Jason Brown.

Millwall had a few new boys for Hock to look out for. One was briggs of fulham, a left back who was by far their best player and looks real quality. In middle young fred againwingy looked good and jimmy abdu also decent. Up front they were toothless Marques beyound useless, and gueye of everton great when not under pressure and good left foot shot but no real skill or direction and when under pressure useless, Gregory is someone they rate upfornt and appretnly tastey although saw little of him as he got no support. They won one nil in boring game through defectled Jermain easter shot. Brown had no saves to make and Darftord caused problems. So there it is hock all the intfo, no need for payment, just make sure you win. I will be there in the millwall end on the day (as I can never get away tickets) but need us to win as all my family and mates are millwall and I suffer when we get beat there every year. they were so poor last night we must beat them if we turn up. Its shaping up to be an interesting season ahead
Lots happening now and more players to follow
The proof will be in the pudding and I believe in seeing how the first 4-6 weeks go before really judging!
So. As was mentioned below, let's get behind the team. See how good they are. How much effort they put in.
No abuse aimed at players please. My gf was sickened by a 10yr old hurtling racist comments at players years ago!
Give players and team and coach and owner tome to prove them selves. Then give them time to put it right. Then bloody moan!

{Ed013's Note - Well said}

I agree with the sentiment of your post, with one small amendment (you too Ed013), the proof is not in the pudding. The proof of the pudding is in the EATING!

Ausman
You deserve a beer my friend well said ;)

Well said Ausman, totally agree (agree with Southern Softie too;)

{Ed003's Note - Depends what the pudding is really ? If it's bread and butter that's just rubbish now if we are talking trifle that's a different matter :-) }

I like bread and butter more than trifle!

I bet Ausman puts rum in his bread n butter pudding ;)

just been watching videos of viviani and he looks like a top player what's everyone else think? MOT

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yeah, I've been watching the same videos. Obviously they're only going to show his best bits, and not his howlers, however, this guy looks a bit special. He's got a keen eye for goal, that's for sure.

Just need his signature, which is unlikely imo

Horrified by comments here and elsewhere about turning a blind eye to a man's character and letting repeat offenders wear the white shirt. Not just criminal behaviour, but downright offensive behaviour too. Some people are recidivist by nature. They will continue to let people down. Everyone deserves a second chance of course - even a third, maybe a fourth - but thousands of people follow Leeds because they want heroes. Our new coach risks shooting himself in the foot and introducing a bad apple into what is widely regarded as a good settalads.
Thankfully, I don't think he'll have much say on selection and a man who's only scored a couple of dozen goals in his whole chequered career will not meet MC's "look 'em in the eyes" test. But even the thought of a trail makes me wonder.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well said Dr.T. , there must be more decent (and talented) players than him available surely!

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed. Thankfully he's only training with us, and we haven't offered him a £25k per week contract. Have we? Oh christ, no!

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree totally but at 23 still young and might of learnt his lesson, some young men with all the money and talent take time to clam down and grow up. Seems a decent player and might be good at this level. and with limted resources could be very shrewd. few good games and all can be forgiven think we all let billy off for punching keegan in charity shield. nIf baracelona get pay 75 mill for suarze ranger for free might not be too bad, that said one foot wrong and out the door.

Of course, others to come in but trying to picture the team for Millwall with confirmed players so far it's looking like:

Silvestri
Byram Pearce Lees Warnock
Bianchi Austin Murphy Tonge
Doukara Smith

Whats your thoughts? Would like to see a stronger centre half than Lees (Hudson?), and for me our problem position is a left sided midfielder. I went for Tonge but could play Poleon, Morison for Tonge (or Viviani?). Be interesting to update this team as and when we sign a player.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Dawson is left footed so I'd let him have a go on left. Probably better at the top of a diamond feeding the strikers but could work in a standard 442.

Anyone catch the piece on tv of Jamie Ohara.
Avaliable on a free, willing to take a wage cut for first team football, looked fit , still only 27, desparate to proove himself, worth a punt anyone?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yeah I saw that and was like you thinkg the same thing. He was tipped for he top a few years ago. Sadly seemed to get in with the celebrity crowd. If he can get his head sorted out and concentrated he could be a bargain.

MC has said he wants to play 433 next season.

I anticipate a midfield of viviani, bianchi & Murphy.

Doukara will be one of the wide attackers with possibly Smith up the middle and hopefully we will sign another wide player for the other side.

Happy Birthday David Haigh!

Interesting article in the YEP last night containing that letter from LUSC to Haigh. Holding a man in detention that long without charge is not right. Anyway, many happy returns David.

Has the club or anyone linked to the club (Adam Pope, Phil Hay etc.) actually confirmed Ranger is on trial or is it just agent/ssn made up nonsense?
