Salerno according to italy newspapers is ready to fly to england to accept role of sporting director at leeds united
announcement should be monday
also reports say that salerno has been looking at raffeale di gennaro of inter milan as new goalkeeper to bring to club

Quietly excited about next season Nicola Salerno has rejected Palermo hopefully this is a good sign for leeds as this guy is a bargain hunter
Hearing Andre Blackman is being looked
Even though Cellno did most of the talking when Hockaday was asked questions was impressed with his answers he talks a good game "Next season no team while work harder" and "my aim is to play attractive attacking football" these impressed me, makes a change from the hoofball played previously
Fingers and toes crossed for salerno to come :) :)
1.) Salerno appointment will get the ball rolling with new players coming in expect Italian and Brazilian imports to hopefully grace elland road

dunno why everyone is getting on hockadays back after 3 league games how many players have we signed do you think footballers settle into new surroundings quickly different countries have different cultures have of them have only basic english its a very difficult job to get them right and you're going to say that's what he is paid for that is correct but you have to give him a chance to succeed if in october were in the same situation fine then there is a choice that has to be made or if he has no backing in dressing room there is a choice to be made I can see us going on a run after christmas when players have had a chance to settle finishing optimistically play off place or about 12th realistically this is a season of rebuilding support whoever is at the club regardless of your opinion
1.) Getting on his back after three pretty poor games and 56 years of him being very bad at his job. what part of his track record don;t people get. Mourino, Pearson, Warnock, McDermot, Pulis all had/have a reason to be given a chance with hocks awful past and track record he has to deliever quickly his rep and c.v. doesn't buy him the luxurary of time in my book. he has to prove himself regardless of anything going on at club. He shouldn't of got the job on paper and in the eyes of many so sadly he has to prove us doubters wrong, nature of the job if not up to it he shouldn't of took it. results base buiness and as a manager/coach he has never got good results anywhere
2.) Yes it is results based business but if a club signs so many new players do you think like magic they all gel togethor and know how each other play instantly no they do not if come the start of october hock is still hit and miss il hold my hands up I don't know whether he will be a success or not at this club but what I am willing to do is support the man while he is here If football owners picked managers based on CVs football would never evolve that's the difference between your warnocks and your rodgers who only had a coaching background like hock failed at reading but was given a chance by swansea look at him now if you base everything on someones CV that CV started by an owner believing he could do the job even though he had no expierience leeds fans have no patience after the last two sets of owners screwing money out of club putting us near administration you're expecting a miracle to happen and to have within a short period of time major changes happen? answer they have happened you need to show a bit of patience and believe in the direction the club is trying to move towards as soon as cellino thinks hock cannot do the job he will be gone as his history at calgiari suggests until then give the man a chance

I think everyone will agree that lees had a poor season but I think its a mistake letting him go would have been decent backup for us most of our defensive issues last season were simply down poor discipline and massive space between back four and midfield if rumours of him going on a free are true find it strange as with a proper coach he would have been fine can only see high wages as the issue how and ever got to move on cellino and salerno i'm sure have something planned feeling optimistic we can have a decent season don't think we will get playoffs or anything but think 8-14 be good as so many italian league players adapting and think the season after this will be our time to shine
1.) I seem to remember Warnock having a go at him in public after a poor display, he has never recovered, poor management from Warnock though Lees needs to man up. Good luck to him.
2.) I agree stickey poor mangement on warnocks part lees is a bit of a strange one he has all the tools to be a top centre half except the mental side of things when a mistake was made by him last year you could see his confidence dropping until eventually it was non existant think a good sports psycologist could turn lees into a top top player bit disappointed he has been allowed to leave but good luck to him just hope we get a decent replacement

3.) Whats pathetic? We've been able to build for this season back in march when we were out of last seasons play off chase. We've only just got a coach in, a cheap one. We've got owners in jail, transfer embargo, no signings, sponsors fining us 950k and still on the shirt.
Watford have just re signed Vydra and even Rotherham are signing players

We couldn't pay the players we had, we didn't pay the tax bill and we were taking loans off anyone and everyone at whatever interest rate they wanted.

Dont know why people are getting annoyed about dolan appointment because he is not a name the reason why the likes of him and hockaday etc being linked is the job is preciously a head coach nothing more cellino is looking to bring nicola salerno to leeds who he is hoping will be sporting director and will be in charge off all the coming and goings at leeds this man salerno is also wanted by palermo also as he is widely considered one of italys top scouts due to his habits of finding quality players on the cheap and flipping them on for vast profits its the sale of these players that kept calgiari running and fairly impressivly aswell Cellino is selling calgiari as he was fed up of finding talent and selling it on due to high costs associated with club running and very low attendances Cellino is a smart man he knows its in his best intrests to get leeds back in premier league as leeds is a one club city which when succesful in past had very high attendances and even in doomed ridsdale era there was talk of expansion of stadium to make it fifa compliant for international games once leeds are back in premier league not next year maybe not the year after but eventually we will see a stop to fans in leeds area switching to the or city or in most cases a club like liverpool who are hated by most fans just as much as leeds are as an irish leeds fan I don't get to see as many games as i'd like to at elland road its just too expensive but I feel most leeds fans in general are quick to slate players managers owners before they have a chance to put there plans in place In Cellino we truly have an intelligent business man who shown before he is capable of running a football club, in dolan someone who is widely respected throughout the irish youth setup and also readings where he brought reading to fa youth cup last four on 4 occasions since taking over give the man a chance he may surprise you
