this is the original poster my sorcrce is my cousin is best friends with brad dixon so gets to know loads.

2.) Wont Dan Atkinson be in with a shout before Brad Dixon?

3.) Why would a best friend of the cousin of a first year scholar be in the know about who was first choice as manager?

tbh I do not think the criticism is fair on cellino. Yes I understand he has made false promises but too his defence there has been a lot of things crop up he did not foresee and had to deal with. when he took over he did not realise the work that needed to be done and he has massively changed the financial side of things at the club. Yes he makes mistakes but he does it when he gets passionate and he is passionate for the club so I think cut him a bit of slack.
personally I do not know what people want from an owner. because not every club can be owned by a rich arab just throwing money at the club to make it successful. For me the last 6 months or so he hasn't made massive mistakes and there seems to be a tiny bit more stability within the club. And majority of people slated him for sacking manager after manger. but then he backs steve evans and people want him sacked. Stop being hypocritical.
In my opinion however is that it very much is a defining summer for cellino to see if it does really invest in the squad after seeing this season. if he doesn't then he needs to leave. But these protests I believe are a little harsh on him.

Absolute disbelief of your post sam. The issue is not just about spending millions, it is hoe he has conducted himself during his tenure. Broken promises, poor treatment of Stephen Warnock, McDermot and Redfearn, second ban by FL looming, forced sale of Byram, pie tax, under funding of playing squad whilst selling our best talent. The list is not exhaustive but yes, the finances have improved albeit half the operating cost reduction was through player sales which cannot be replicated year on year. Apart from that he has done ok.

2.) 06 Mar 2016 01:25:14
Don't forget suspending Thommo and acting like an orangutan during an important PR.

3.) 06 Mar 2016 10:32:16
I agree that M C has not treated certain people correctly . using the media etc on occasions to voice his opinions .
Although this has been less in recent times .
I do believe when M C brought Leeds he had intentions of at least buying ER, only to find massive problems in the way the club was being run, and also having to deal with the other shareholders .
Gfh called ex-chairman to Dubai and locked him up without any trial, are they fit and proper?
M C failed to pay tax on a number of private purchases (yachts etc) , this in my book does not make him unfit to own a football club .
I would hate to think of the number of wealthy people who do the same and bank in more favourable locations .
How many companies who have been found not paying full uk tax are still present in advertising in football?
I'm not pro or against M C at the moment and I would like to give him one more season to show us fans that a light is coming at the end of what seems to be a very long tunnel.

4.) 06 Mar 2016 11:52:52
Agree with Sam disagree with Notts. Cellino for all his faults as bailed us out. Our problem is Gfh they are bleeding us dry lending money to be paid back at high interest rates taking money out of club and charging for directorships. Gfh Out.

5.) 06 Mar 2016 12:18:28
One question to ask is, is he better that Bates/ GFH?

The simple answer is yes, by quite a long way. This is spite of his at times erratic and impulsive behaviour, and I agree that LUFC could well do without this partt of Cellino's conduct and all in brings to the club.

I get a sense that we will possibly appreciate cellino more after he has gone, I think that we are on the way towards becoming a viable option for investment now, I say this part in hope as much as anything.

George, spot n about the hypocrisy of the FL and FA, but buddy up to pretty much anyone with money and power, regardless of how it has been gained, yet come down on cellino like a ton of bricks over his relatively minor tax
dodging.

Next season will be a watershed for MC in terms of player investment.

I differ judgement until then.

6.) 06 Mar 2016 19:29:11
agree with pro MC comments and some of the negitive ones. yes mc shouts mouth off too much pie tax was so stupid. however few massive problems with some of the negitive comment which shows people just want to moan for sake of it and judge for the sake of it.

notts you say we have court case looming why? also you say he has under fundended playing team why. to stop another winding up order. these two comments contradtic each other do they not?

also selling of best talent. no plain wrong mccormack sale was great price. bryam didn't want to be at leeds and last two seasons show that, he won't sign so he has to go. the rest of our best talent have not been sold under MC (cook, talyor, mowatt, ect) you are mistaking MC with bates so please back up your comment here but you can not can you?

all broken promises he has made have been down to bates and GFH.

Now to people like notts, I understand he ain't prefect he does lots of things that have wound me up and I disagree with but he is best thing for leeds at the moment.

To all the mC haters try less moaning and negtivity unless you have a solution or better person to take over (their are none) also please stop with silly comments (he has sold all best talent) as it makes your vaild points hold far less weight.

MOT and to all the fans at the funeral shame on you all IMO. get real, get a grip and be realstic in a modern football world.

7.) 06 Mar 2016 20:09:31
Bermo, this realisticness you refer to in the modern football world you also refer to. Would that be the same world where over a dozen executives from FIFA face criminal charges over a billion dollar bribery and corruption case? The same world where Messi is valued at 240m pounds? Where certain PL players earn over a 100k a week? The same modern world that does produce football clubs with successful business models? And the same football world where most of the well-known English clubs are owned by Arab sheiks, oil tycoons and former arms dealers?

Bermo, we ain't in 1985 anymore where Big Ron Atkinson was the bees knees, ticket prices for a top game was £11.50 and Sky TV was only a glint in Murdoch's eyes.

No, we are not entitled to PL but we are entitled to vie for it every year. We are Leeds. It's not as if we are without pedigree. I realize it's all the fault of Publicity Pete but we've been using that as an excuse for too long now. We have a fairly rich owner. Time to sort it.

8.) 06 Mar 2016 21:57:44
george I literally have no idea what the first two sections of your post are going on about?

what I am refering to is the business world, there are many successful scuturctures out there worth a fortune, earning a fortune with assests (players, sponsership, ground, fan base (worldwide) , status in the relevant industry i. e. being successful in prem)

we have no assests, no real squad, in piles of debt, were nearly a car park, and for ages had our playing assests sold for pea nuts. in a country where only 20 teams can be top rung and 24 teams can compete for 3 spaces every year to become top rung we have no right viving for these three spaces.

yes we have a decent fan base (not world wide we ain't barca) also our decent fan base is not fully behind club at the moment (we are not selling out and buying lots of shirts are we? ) all we have is history and that does not count for anything in a business world (look at woolworths which is nearly what leeds were) .

why should we be viving for these places ahead of teams with better sqauds who have not been run by ken bates and been pillored for years? why should we be competing with richer clubs with better teams who have had longer to build towards this (in business terms leeds are new and unstable at this level)

i don't think mc is that rich and with FFP that is irrelevant to an extent anyway. and does this all fall on MC's door? of course not.

the first few sections of your post make me right, there are players on 100k we can't get near that, there are rich sheks we don't have one, there are successful business models and we have not been one of them for 20 odd years almost. MC is turning us round but making woolworths compete with Apple takes time escpially when they limit the 'apple' like clubs to just 20 clubs a year.

leeds on paper should be league 1 at best that is sad but accurate by all rights leeds should be an historic club that wound up. we survived to be in top 40 clubs in country is nothing short of miricle in business terms on paper.

9.) 06 Mar 2016 22:20:14
Court cases are for Cellino not paying tax, sod all to do with the club avoiding a winding up order. Nothing contradictory about that. My issue has always been with the manner that Cellino conducts himself. As a representative of Leeds United his actions tarnish the image of the club. I support the club not the regime, I am a paying fan and therefore have a right to voice my displeasure but never at games. No more calling out BW, I don't have to justify my opinion to you.

10.) 06 Mar 2016 22:34:23
Bermo, why you ask? Why? I'll tell you why. Because those owners sink in big funds because they have it and they care. Like I said before my jury on MC returns in the summer. We need a big injection of cash.

11.) 07 Mar 2016 09:31:18
notts you don't have to justify your opinion but in the name of debate it does make your voice have more weight behind it. you are free to voice your displeasure but if you put it in an open forum people have a right to disagree and to question your logic. I always try and see both sides and try and use logic in my posts as I think it is the best way to have a debate and not a primary school argument (my dad is bigger than your dad and you smell so shut up kind of row) . I was not calling out I was questioning exact comments people made which didn't seem to stand up to see if they could make them stand up as people have done to me, which I always try and do. back to my point someone stated our best players have been sold under MC (suggesting a ken bates synarino) this is plain wrong, no opinion about that facts are this has not happened. so when people put things like this is might well be questioned and make other vaild points seem far less vaild. and if you don't want to make a vaild comment no point posting in my opinion.

his court case is seperate from leeds so as a represensative it is not good but does it affect the club?

as for the big injection of cash George I don't think mc has it and don't think leeds can support that in the name of FFP most of our reveune is going towards sleeping partners, ex owners, bank loans and debts I don't think too much can go into the club, which is nothing to do with MC.

remember we are all passionate about leeds, some are negitive (rightly so) some are fed up with the negitiviy (rightly so) so when people put things into open forum people who are passionate might dissagree and might ask for comments to be justified. I don't think there is anything wrong with this. freedom of speech and right to voice our voice and all that but by that very statement people have a right to voice against the voice. otherwise we just have nazi germany don't we?

12.) 07 Mar 2016 10:31:47
Sugar coat it all you like BW, you questioned my opinion and then stated that I would not back it up. That to me is calling some out and totally against the spirit of an open debate.

13.) 07 Mar 2016 11:02:29
i am not sugar coating anything notts, you stated MC has sold our best players. I clearly think this is 100% wrong and can not be correct, so asked you where this view point has come from and can you explain this comment to me (which you did not do) . This is very much in the spirt of open debate as that is what a debate is people say things and then others agree or question (hence debate) . I was not rude, I was not personal nor was I biasied in my opinion in the sence I have nothing personal against you. I do not agree with that comment and fail to see how you come to that view point so asked the honest and decent question as well as backed it up by saying RM was a great fee and SB didn't play well for a while and didn't want to stay so I don't think MC had any choice.

i have disagred with a few points on this forum over the past few weeks and others have disagreed with mine. this is fine as long as people can be educated in why they have views (or indeed go against them) .

over the least few weeks a few people have got very personal towards me and in some cases quite rude which is different (i ignored it as I am big man and great so it is easy to love myself and ignore others when you look as good as me and can dance like I dance) so I never try to cause offence or be personal but if you make a comment I think it unjust or incorrect I will ask how you come to that point in a nice and open way.

also notts it was not an opinion you stated but a fact (our best players have been sold under MC) so think it is fair to ask how and why you think this. and I am still waiting on an answer?

14.) 07 Mar 2016 13:40:00
You can keep waiting BW, you have answered your own question.

I am also a partly a chesterfield fan, been very depressing because the last two seasons I have been on holiday for both games! I went to about 7 chesterfield games last season and liam cooper is very very good, for his age he is good, he is not scared when the ball is at his feet and has great composure, even though he is small he wins a lot of headers. If we sign him he will be a great signing. Last thing, chesterfield are a lot worse to watch than leeds! They bloody pass the ball across the back 4 about 500 times before going forward!

ed may I ask why there is no agree or disagree button on the leeds banter page? {Ed003's Note - They were removed from because people would just disagree for the sake of it even on sensitive issues across all the sites which then ended up with posters whinging.They basically were causing grief mate.}

sam.lufc

1.) Sorry Ed just an idea but is it possible at all to write a programme whereby only registered users can click on the either disagree or agree buttons and also when hovering over the buttons it shows who clicked which button allowing people to see who clicked what therefore on sensitive issues people will be able to take note of the troublemakers and not be bothered if people are trolling

Just a thought? {Ed001's Note - possible but a lot of trouble to go through for something of so little real importance. What we are looking to do is just have the buttons as an option for those putting up a post. So you have to check a box to have them on your post, that way they will only be on your post if you choose to have them. That should cut down on the trolls who click disagree on posts from people giving sympathy regarding a tragedy etc.}

2.) Fair enough

i went to the game yesterday and whenever leeds played the ball on the floor we got a chance on goal but whenever we hoofed it up the field hudderfield won the ball and came back at us! I suppose that is n. warnocks style of football. also s. warnock and tounge had it after playing 6 games in a row as s. warnock just collapsed on the floor for a min and toung was s**t all round.
