McDermott trying to fend off others by denying interest in gradel. He does want gradel and he want seal done soon

RDLUFC7

1.) He hasn't denied interest in Gradel, in fact he said the other day that he had people watching him.

2.) I take the comments from the manager about the deal needing to be right for the club and unlikely to be cheap to mean; nice but can we afford Gradel and strengthen in other areas?
Personally, I think Leeds fans generally overrate Gradel's skill and pace. Rose-tinted Peacock specs are a widespread epidemic.

No dodgy rumour but I think we need another striker and I think there are 3 good realistic options

LeFondre: Good player him and McDermott get on and he is a hard worker and can score goals

Sharpe: proven goal scorer at this level

Gradel: ok not an out and out striker but would be a good signing I think and can play wing also

One or 2 of these and maybe a CM and I think we will get playoffs

He is worth quite a lot but the main thing is he is a lifelong fan so he wants the club to do well for reasons other than money

I'm not sure I believe this but I have heard a few things about a loan move for zaha

{Ed003's Note - Cardiff are the latest to show an interset apparently}

Brown has done fine this season and isn't exactly taking up too much wages. It is also good to have the experience

Now this was 6 months ago and against poor opposition but if carney could play like he did against Stevenage in a friendly then he certainly is a good backup striker to have and he did prove sphe can hit the net with a hat trick there so you never know and I would give him a chance (unless we sign a better striker of course)
