Phil Hay on Tw*tter claiming he's been told by Cellino that Silvestri & Bianchi have signed, Salerno is now employed by Leeds & we're in talks to sign Rossini. Looks like the Italian revolution is beginning (and yes I know Rossini is Swiss)

I think the point of the Tw*tter comment is that the woman didn't realise that she was talking to Matt Smith, nothing to do with a transfer!
Wage bill and other costs are being reduced to fall in line with FFP rule, not because we have no money.
The size of the wage bill is not a valid way of judging the strength of the squad (our current wage bill is larger than that of Cagliari without having the same strength, QPR wage bill is higher than that of Dortmund despite having anywhere near the same quality in their squad).
I don't expect big money to be spent, or 'big names' coming in but I do expect the money that is spent to be spent well. 3 or 4 sensible signings with the addition of utilising the youth players would give us a far stronger squad than last season. MOT
Maybe 'essential maintenance' just means that they're making improvements, maybe academy staff are on extended holidays because the season has ended! I understand that past owners actions have made fans deeply suspicious, but there is no need to jump to conclusions.
Hockaday has worked with Gibbs so may be on his recommendation?
Financially it means very little as MC had already stated money from Cagliari sale would not be used to fund Leeds. However it has to be a distraction to him at a time when Leeds need his full attention
