Strong rumour from a work mate in Melbourne Oz apparently the guy that owns the tv sports channel 9, is seriously looking to invest in Leeds Utd, maybe even buying us outright, from what was said this has been doing the rounds down under for a few months...you heard anything ed {Ed015's Note - not heard anything}

The guy who owns channel 9 over here is australia is a very wealthy man also which should be good for leeds and will put alot of money into the club

James Packer? certainly isn't any rumors down here about him Buying into Leeds United.

I'm from australia & haven't heard this one, although doesn't mean its not true. There was talk of frank lowie buying leeds last year, but this didn't happen.

This rumour surfaced last season and uncle Ken even commented. The guy in question is real and very wealthy and has carried out a financial due dilligence check (or whatever they officially call it). However checking and buying are 2 very different things.

ED, there are so many rumours about different players coming into Elland Road on the site. What transfers do you think are most likely? {Ed015's Note - my advice it to keep looking that the free agents, as for transfers that actually cost money... no idea crnt see Bates spending}

I agree, but honestly I was a great fan of AS but LUFC need to build a team for the PL.

Precisely, Smith hasn't said anything. If he had intentions on returning, him and his team would cushion the blow by doing minor interviews/comments etc. So they could see Leeds fans reactions and test the waters. So far only Leeds have hinted at it and thats simply to draw in interest from fans-Money (memberships/ST) or a smokescreen. I dont believe this for a minute. And to be honest Im sick to the back teeth of Alan Smith rumours Lets be practical and start discussing true targets for next season not some PR stunt.

Exactly, look to the future not the past We've gotten out of this sh*tehole without him, and we'll get to the promised land once again without him. If he thinks he can come 'home' like some hero now he's ready for the scrap heap hes got another thing coming. Gradel to go to the highest bidder as he only has 1 year on his contract. Then another keeper in and two midfielders to come in. Bowyer, no chance, as we cant afford him. So we will have to look at the loan market again and Bates can pocket all of the cash again for his pension and pay off the debt Remember we still have debt

Gradel will sign a new contract, he loves it at Leeds

Get your facts right we dont have debt If you were a Leeds fan you would know we are one of the few clubs turning a profit. Albeit a very small one

RUMOURS COMING IN THAT 33YR OLD ROY CARROLL BEING LINED UP AS REPLACEMENT FOR KASPER AS HE IS CURRENTLY UNATTACHED AND LOOKING FOR A NEW CLUB {Ed015's Note - could be worse, it could be Paul Rachubka....... o wait, already made that mistake :L }

Roy Carroll was on Talksport this morning and he said he is looking to get back into English football in the Prem or Championship. He said so far he has had nothing and is a bit disappointed. I don't think Leeds will be lining him up.

Totally agree as I heard his talksport interview this morning also. More importantly though lets hope not as he's bloody rubbish

Leeds to sign 2 by Thursday and they might b surprises but well worth the wait. Max is going 2b offered a new improved 3 year deal which will make him highest earner. Bates knows if he sells him the reaction could ruin the season so he has put up the money

Derbyshire is a class C striker, and we already have one in Paynter, don't we? I really don't think we'll be signing any strikers. Four senior players is more than enough, especially if we continue to play one upfront.

Wishful thinking......the simple matter is the sponsorship deal fell through, therefore shirts are delayed due to us having to obtain a new sponsor As for late signings, players are only just returning from holidays, weve already lost two signings that we wanted to make to other clubs, we wanted to offload players that wanted to leave in order to see which areas needed adressing and what funds from those sales would be brought in, and as per usual we were waiting for the list of free transfers. Their is NOTHING more to it, No Smith, No conspiracy just Leeds being typical Leeds

I'm all for getting behind the manager who in my opinion has done a very good job so far, however when you sell Kasper saying that that's an area we need to improve because of the 70 odd league goals we conceded does he not know who our back four was last year?? In my opinion we had the worst back four in all 4 top flight english leagues last season and if not for Kasper we would have struggled for even a top half finish. I'm sorry to say it but i'm starting to lose faith hopefully SG proves me wrong with a major goalkeeper coming in. MOT {Ed015's Note - I have heard from a number of places that kaspers ego got in the way at ER and caused problems on and off the pitch! }

When I heard what SG was saying that goalkeepers position was an area to improve, I was bemused. I thought MS did more then the back 4 put together did. If SG is really serious, then I have my doubts about him. The back 4 is the area where we needed improment, not MS. and one in the middle and a forward.
I dont think Bates will spend a penny on new Players-- ONLY ON THE FREE or sell-by dates players.

I must admit I never rated Kaspers attitude, simply because of his father he thought he was better than what he was. And No Ive not only thought this way since he was told he could go, Ive thought it all along. Simply because a players doing well doesnt mean you can excuse his behaviour if it was effecting the dressing room I do think SG seriously needs to address the back 4, KS should not be an escape on the the other four, they too were woeful

Well 24-year-old GK is hardly a finished product... And even more than that, our defense lacked any kind of stability. It's the no.1 thing in forming a good defense, stability. Shuffling the back four from game to game didn't do us any favours.

Leeds to sign Alex Smithies or Tomasz Kuszack to resolve goalkeeper problems.
We'll sign atleast one out of Woodgate, Bowyer or Smith.
And a part exchange deal will see Montgomery come to Elland Road with Billy Paynter going the other way.

-And tbh If we can get 4mil for Snodgrass i'd happily let him go aslong as we have a certain replacement lined up, for example, I wouldnt mind seeing Sanchez again next season. Lloyd Sam should also be given another chance after how he started last season

Not one word has being mentioned about a striker with the strikers we have, but if we get rid of BP we will have to bring in another striker as well a Keeper, Midfielders, Defenders. So giv BP a break he had a serious injury last season, SG stated he is part of his plans......M.O.T

If a fair price came for Gradel and Snodgrass I would let them go. By fair price I mean above 5mil. However, I would only let them go providing we have some equally talented signings or better siginings in mind.

The thing is we never put money back into the team for a replacement so for that reason alone Snoddy needs to remain at the club.
Forget the old times they need to be long forgotten about Not a chance we'd get any of them and two of them arent even worth it

Im a Window Cleaner in Leeds, i hate the "just seen" stories and i never believe them, so make of this what you will, just seen Stephen Ireland ( or a very good lookalike) walking down whitehall road with someone coming down from either a carpark or a hotel/apartments on the canal. Everyone walking down that road normally has a suit on, thats why he stood out as i was at traffic lights. Coninceidentally the direction he was walking lead to either the city centre or the crowne plaza. As i say, might have no connection with LUFC at all, and it could have been a very good lookalike. but I would swear blind it was him. I cant see Leeds catching a player like that but after seeing Kasper go im hoping Grayson 7 or 8 more quality players like this coming in. Am i getting my hopes up? Probably.

well reading all the rumours and speculation we must now have being linked with every Keeper in the land, why ppl carnt just wait and see. the surprise will out do the guessing lol.

Whats funniest is no one ever puts a rumour up before someone like Kasper goes, only when theyve left as its enevitable we'll need a replacement keeper lol So much for their men in the know ;) lol
