We already have 2 outstanding young keepers at the club. In Alex Cairns and Eric Grimes. so mate talking total b*******

To the above post about SWP neville and le fondre ^^^
ASIF we can afford three premiership wages. let's get realistic here.
Agree0
Disagree0
Yeah i'm sure he want's to follow in Kennys footsteps, spend most his free time out on the piss in Halifax and become a mediocre keeper.
Agree0
Disagree0
Kenny wannabe? That's aiming too high. TOO DAMNED HIGH. He'd have to be all kinds of poor at commading his area and seven shades of dung in the air. These are lofty goals for any youngster.
There goes Di Canio, not promoting the soul-afirming benefits of perennial underachievement. He'll last five minutes in the Prem!

Sick and tired of this beckford rubbish all the time, new manager, new broom, move on.

Take Puncheon and Mcanuff all day long. Two quick and good wingers, Puncheon has been out of favourat saints too.
Love Beckford, however I think we can get better. Billy Sharp is good but are his better days behind him?
Agree2

I did used to like Matty Fryatt but he hasn't been same since his long injury spell, would it be a gamble to sign him?

No manager is a massive fan of Beckford. In my opinion, no fan of football is a fan of Beckford.
Yes, there are always rumours. hopefully all made up by deluded folk who obviously know nothing about football.
Agree1

These players would fit the bill nicely and get us up I'm sure
Agree0
Disagree1
Pllleeeeaaaaassssseeee give this up.
We need to build for the future not get a striker who scores in lower divisions, then can't hack it in prem!
Agree1
Disagree0
How about Johnny Gilies that's as realistic as Beckford
Agree0
Disagree0
Mate who is a watford fan was telling me that McAnuff is a terrible player to have. On his day he is the best player on the field, but when he can't be asked. You may as well just play with 10 men
Agree0
Disagree0
Why are a lot of people wanting beckford back it does my head in I would have le fondre any day over him
Agree1

How does anyone know any of this stuff, its not even rumours as mcDermott no given budget yet becua GFH haven secured next batch of investment from equity sale. come on guys. get real. once the investment is secured then fair enough, but as we sit here there is zero cash!!!
Agree0
Disagree0
There will be a budget, set by GFH a while ago. It won't be a particularly lavish budget but higher than nowt and less than a lot. Any increase will be dependant on future investment but, trust me, BMD has been given a preliminary budget to work within.
Happily, I think there'll be a number of decent players out-of-contract, come summer. Happier, still. a few of those players will be some of our dead wood. Not enough but, enough to free up some vital parts of the wage structure.
Agree0
Disagree0
Why oh why do the fans want Beckford and Harte back move on please, as before youth and experience is the future not has beens who left for fame and fortune
Agree0
Disagree0
If dortmund manage to scavange the lower german leagues and end up where they are I highly doubt that our youth players r that bad compared to the german youth players. You just need to pick the right people (something we've often been good at)
Agree0

Can't quite understand why people think Beckford 'only scores in the lower leagues and can't hack it in the Premier League'?! Was he not Everton's top scorer in his only season with 11 goals (I think) and now seems to be scoring for fun at Huddersfield?
I firmly think we should get him back where he belongs, we all know he'd give it his all week in, week out and I bet he'd bag 20 league goals for us. - JamesC

Beckford scored only 7 goals in the Premier. For Everton in 34 Appearances, he managed 8 goals in total. 1 Goal coming against Scunthorpe in the FA Cup.

Not Anuff Mac.
No Punch up front.
HeART is fading.
Need a long list.
In general we need a Mid-field one.
Agree0

Harte not good enough even in his prime.
Agree1

In all fairness to the post saying beckford only scored 8 in 30 odd appearances, a lot of those were as a sub rather than playing the full match. We all know he's a confidence player and when he's playing regularly he can score. Since he left us, Everton, Leicester and Huddersfield don't seem to have given him a run of games which is what he appears to need.
Not saying I want him however we know he loves Leeds, has the pace we're desperate for and can score - we need a striker along these lines

Why are people still wanting Harte back? We should rename ourselves to Leeds United Left-back retirement centre! Drury. Warnock. Now Harte!
Agree0

I reckon beckford might come back but harte is rubbish, I mean he was slow 8 yrs ago so now he will run like a tractor.
but beckford is actualy willing to take a pay cut puncheon might come to elland road and mabye goerge long but not mcanuff surely

Warnocks a good player, Harte was top notch in his heyday, but no no no, not now, same with beckford and any other ex player, we want a fresh start
Agree0

I would drive Ian Harte and Jobi McAnuff to both of you
Agree0
Disagree0
Um. Beckford give his all week-in week-out?
Beckford can't give his 'all' much past five minutes.
You people really don't recall us willing him to be dropped to the bench whilst we plunged rapidly from the top of the league whilst he divided the dressing room and the fans.
Beckford is trouble and wasn't nearly good enough to be forgiven for not playing a team game. End of.

I live just outside Nottingham and I bought Billy's car earlier in the season. Spoke briefly about being a Leeds fan and said tongue in cheek he should sign for us. Quite surprisingly he said he would love to sign for Leeds as his plan is to settle back in Sheffield area as soon as possible as he now has young son and family in Sheffield. Real top fella and good player would love to see him at Leeds however he did say as much as he would fancy a move north it's unlikely until summer as he reached the max of 3 clubs for the season so who knows what might happen when the window opens

just had a look and the out of contract players that we might afford possibly
GK turnbull steve harper
DF ronnie stam, eric lichaj, matt kilgallon, ian harte frazer richardson alex pearce antolin alcaraz
MDF Phil neville, steven reid, dean whitehead, thomas hitlzberger chris baird chris brunt gary o neil ryan shotton
ST Franco di santo noel hunt simon church
now varying degrees of player here with both age and skill worthy of debate but if they can do the job why not
my personal signings from this list would be
pearce, lichaj, baird neville, church
brunt would be good but we won't get him.
move on the likes of somma kisnorbo, they would leave with my thanks for good service brown can go mls or china for all I care, drury= waste of space unfortunately. rid of one from tonge/norris/green either highest wage or biggest transfer fee or both!

frazer richardson would be a good signing meaning we could play byram on the right mid.
harte maybe as a sub as he could get 30 mins for the set pieces.
Agree0
Disagree0
Why do our fans always say stuff like let's move somma or kisnorbo off the books. Both are out of contract in a little over a month, both are injury prone including one currently having surgery and the other out on loans. It's clearly quite obvious that they won't be offers new contracts so there's no point saying "move them off the books". It's just like last summer and people saying we needed to sell Bromby and Nunez when they were both seriously injured. Luckily Nunez wanted his contract cancelled when he recuperated and sure Bromby did good work with the youth team

Get rid of Drury, Pearce, Austin, Green, Varney and Somma.
Would take Harper, Kilgallon, Lichaj, Baptiste, Whitehead, Shotton, Robson-Kanu, McCleary, Le Fondre and Sharp.

Green and Austin definately worth keeping and not sure why the criticism of Drury as he did okay when he played

would love di santo, but we have absolute no chance of getting him
Agree0

Drury barely played ageing not going to get any better
Agree0
Disagree0
Pearce is just woeful, I don't know why anyone rates him, Austin just shoots from 40 yards everytime he gets it, Green maybe has some quality but not enough beyond a mid-table side, Varney and Somma have what like 8 goals between them this season. Somma has been injured but would he have scored 15+ had he been fit, I doubt it very highly.
Agree0
Disagree0
A fit Somma 2 seasons ago would have seen us up, by now. Dying-minute-goal-machine.
Not sure he'll be able to continue being a professional footballer after the latest setback. Wish him all the best but, League 2 and a long way back to knocking on the door of the Bafana Bafana manager could be just that bit too far away for the fella.
