Stoke defender Danny Pugh has rejoined former club Leeds on loan, after pleading with the Potters to let him go.
The 28-year-old played 50 games for Leeds from 2004 to 2006 before moving on to Preston and then, in 2008, Stoke.
He asked for a move after being left out of the Potters' 25-man Premier League squad.

Ed, any new rumors? apart from the Pugh deal its all gone a bit quiet. {Ed001's Note - to be perfectly honest, no, I have not heard anything other than that one. Well other than the usual Smith stories.}
If there is a 93 day rule then dont expect Pugh signing to be announced until middle of next week - that would take us through to end December 2011.
Newcastle have made it clear their thin squad means Smith is going nowhere not even on loan although if someone offered money for him in Jan and injuries eased up & players came in at nufc he'd be out...

So where PUGH then ?? was meant to be here this morning Gj
He watched the game last night and said "flick that, to much like hard work".
21 Sep 2011 19:41:47
Is it just me or has Mr tight wad had a hair transplant saw him on lutv last night he looks like someone from the 1970s with that hair style that's were our moneys gone.

Michael Kightly (winger) available for loan -
Let Keogh go back to Wolves (Jan) and bring Kightly in.
Sell Snodgrass and buy 2 centre half's this might just work
If true would be a decent loan. But Keogh has been decent and is worth retaining.
I totally agree go get him, but again we miss out a good centre half at this level clint hill gone to forest.
Agree. I like Keogh he would be good to come on off the bench just doesnt score enuff for me
21 Sep 2011 18:57:25
Larry could do far worse than trying to get that kid Fryers who played last night on loan.
Totally agree the lad looked quality.Got pace as well which is something we need.
21 Sep 2011 17:45:53
way too predictable in last third - too easy to read - no pace - no trickery and NO MOVEMENT last night
Snoddy and Nunez looked out of their depth
Snoddy looked slow and sluggish - somets got to give fast - Snods looks moody and off his game for us ? was he due a move and it fell through me thinks ...YEP !

Team for Brighton,
Lonergan, connelly if fit, lees in middle with o dear and aidy at lb.Clayton brown and varynyn in the middle with McCormack keogh and give snoddy one more chance
U didnt attend the game last night then? Lees is out of his depth. Aidy white is too lightweigh. The startin 11 should be. Lonergan connoly (if fit) bromby (solid defender) odea pugh (if signed in time) mccormack clayton howson vayrynen becchio and keogh.
I did attend last night and while lees may have struggled last night he has played well in every other match hes played. Lot of effort last night but def something was misssing (from all the team)
Connelly in the squad, yet alone the starting team is an utter joke! He is a bag of tripe who should stick to picking up the cones after training. How desperate are you mate?
Lees is out of his depth? Some people are unreal! He was the best thing since sliced bread a week ago, he wasnt that bad last night but we lost and he got beaten a couple of times by a premier league title winning opposition and suddenly he's not good enough to play in the championship!! Utter garbage. Lees White Howson Clayton etc are the future of our club and should be supported 100% no matter what. Slating players wont improve them, see Barn door Billy!!
So we should play Howson every week however crap hes playing, get a grip,if hes not up to scratch get him dropped and play somebody with some enthusiasm, sadly lacking in him at the mo.
It'll be:
lonergan
lees kisnorbo/bromby o'dea pugh
howson clayton
snodgrass mccormack
keogh becchio

anyone know whats happened to the signing larry said we were making this morning/
Exactly what I said but this site doesn't put anything up. Another porkie where's the irons the the bloody fire. So far we have spent 200.000 grand and received 2.75 million plus the stadium money so WTF is going on. {Ed007's Note - How do we know you said it? The only reason posts don't get put up is if they don't meet site guidelines, are repetitive or are complete garbage. Obviously yours fell into one of those categories.}
Same as all the other signings he has gone on about.
To Ed mr smart arse I said this about three hours ago, what j said was simply what the first post said so keep the sarcasm to yourself mate and answer the bloody question know it all. {Ed007's Note - Who is 'j'? I can't see anything posted by them. I would advise you to implement a nicer attitude than you are showing, no wonder your post didn't get put up, you come across as a bit of a k**b. There are plenty of other sites you can use by the way, it will save any us reading your dross.}
Ed where is the signing from this morning? Or is it more rubbish from Larry. Apparently from other posts SToke are keeping Pugh. {Ed001's Note - I believe things are being held up to allow the loanee to play over the Christmas period. I haven't worked out when the 93 day period would end myself, so I can't be sure that is correct, but it is what I have been told and it makes sense.}
As of today (22nd Sept) There are 100 Calendar days left to the 31st December when we play Barnsley, Prior to that we play the Monday Before (Boxing Day) against Derby. If the 93 Day loan is expected to go through to Allow Pugh to play ovre christmas beforetheTransfer Market Window Opens at 12am on the 1st January 2012.
Therefore to allow Pugh to play against Barnsley we would not sign him until next Thursday 29th September, or if he was to play just against Derby he wouldn't sign until Monday. Seeing that after tomorrow we don't have a game until the following Saturday, I wouldn't expect a signing until Next Thursday - If the intention is to have Pugh available up to the next transfer window.

Danny pugh deal now dead, as stoke have progressed in the carling cup they are keeping him in there squad now.
I'm sure you can't use unregistered players in the cup.

Brighton have got 2 days to recover before Leeds come to town..! If Leeds go down without a fight, a change of manager and backroom staff is urgently required...!
I did say without a fight - don't mind losing if we give 100% for the shirt
P.S scratching shed website are selling Bates out T-Shirts
They look rather good in fairness just ordered one for 12-quid
So that's how you're going to raise money to buy him out. t shirts!
Yeah Bates designed them and is making a hefty profit as he doesn't care what we think
Wish people would get off the backs of those that what Bates out and therefore the best for our club...........
I dont have a problem with people that want bates out. we are all Leeds fans and are entitled to voice how we feel but there is one simple fact. Bates is there now and until someone comes in and offers him big money he aint gona move. He dosnt care if you like him or not he will keep on doing what hes doing. He will get us back in the premiership build some wierd ass village then sell us when he is ready for a huge profit. My problem is if chanting bates out at matches hurts the team. I dont know if it does or not so would like some thoughts
I'm the original poster, I don't remonstrate during the game as i fell the guys need 100% support.
the reference to the T-Shirt is that it looks rather smart and well worth wearing for casual wear..!
Then you're a sad t**t who needs to get a life! Bates is staying. End of so get used to it

What’s Larry’s obsession with playing Snoddy and Nunez on the wrong wing, they both have to cut inside, run into traffic and we loose our width. It’s far too easy for the opposition to read and painful to watch because everyone knows what’s coming when they are on the ball!
Thats a good point they are getting a bit predictable cutting in every time they get the ball
But then it would still be just as predictable on the opposite wings, they will try a cross and wont really cut inside very often because it is on there weaker foot and they would use there weaker foot when crossing on the other side there aint much difference.
What a stupid comment that last one was! The difference is they won't be running into more players in the middle of the park every time. If a winger beats his man on the outside it creates space and ultimately an opening. If there's no difference why do the majority of teams have players playing on their strongest side?
Are you stupid? snoddy wouldnt be as good at other wing and he would hardly score..
21 Sep 2011 13:41:02
I wonder if any of the youngsters that played last night are available on loan? Paul Pogba would do for me.
21 Sep 2011 13:30:38
Ipswich to sign SNODGRASS for 1.3 million in jan you heard it here first..
Piss off you person three weeks 8 million to Wigan behave yourself.
Me thinks that it is the crazy Ipswich fan yet again on the LUFC forum looking to stir it up. Shame Pauline Jewell's expensive team has been very unimpressive.
After his sulky display against man u last night they can have him.
I say let him go after his effortless performance last night
I agree this season snoddys not been his usual self i think he wanted a move in summer
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah yeah, the poor performances dropped 6.7 mil off of his 8 mil price tag

Player of Match last night@ Elland Road
YEP chief Leeds United writer Phil Hay struggled to find out a stand out Whites performance sharing his award between Andy Lonergan, Aidy White, Robert Snodgrass, Adam Clayton, Luciano Becchio, Ross McCormack, Mikael Forssell, Ramon Nunez and Mika Vayrynen
What game was that man watching?
Would have given it to Clayton by a
mile, Aidy White did ok, apart from Giggs skinning him for the goal. Ross Mac did not do too bad up front. How on earth he gets Snoddy as contender from i dont know.
I totally agree clayton did well and for me nunez looked far better in the middle of the park, however i feel white is a liability and he seems too gung ho!! and i feel we would be far better playing howson at centre back he would be more use there,it seems he is struggling in midfield.
With Aidy White maybe another reason why he should play as LW not LB

How many would a Man u first 11 have put past us last night any thoughts with out Rose coloured specs on please?
2. stop been a person and support your team. they are championship players who gave there all against superior players and we should back them to the hilt!
You clearly weren't there person who has commented. Im not original poster but I made a 200mile round trip to watch NO ONE give anything! I back leeds 110% but the guy is right and its very disheartening to travel so far and see a very lackluster performance.
Gave there all did you watch or go to the same game only clayton was worthy of any praise what so ever !!
It would have been a cricket score. Its okay to lose but no one looked interested. It had the feel of a reserve game. Even SG looked resigned to losing as soosn as teh first had gone in. Pathetic.
Yes I was there, and yes I was disappointed. But we were playing a premier league team, the best premier league team in fact. 90% of their team got medals last year, and i think their superior ability was what made us look poorer. Not lack of effort, dont understand how people can accuse our boys of that!! I'm leeds and im proud of it!!!
Rose coloured specs then and it would be a cricket score last ten mins with ten men and a make shift defence come on it was embaressing no sane thinking Leeds fan can say we gave our all ,do think Brighton will beat us and they only have one day off !
21 Sep 2011 12:06:35
Snoddy's problem is all attitude. Noone was saying he couldn't cross last year!
I have also heard from someone who knows a couple of the older players that he has gambling debts and wanted to force through a move to Wigan on deadline day to get a higher wage.
21 Sep 2011 11:55:44
i was their in the kop last night singing till the final whistle with the brilliant whites and i must say that was the only thing that was good. so many fans holing head in hands was unreal and it wa more than a couple hundred "morons" shouting at bates it was about a 1/3 of the ground.
BATES OUT

Danny pugh loan deal done - loan till January with a view to permenant
I heard that we are also interested in ex Wigan striker amr zaki, and ex 'boro striker alfonso alves! These are both strikers with plenty of speed and can both score goals
Got plenty of options up front its further back that needs attention the defending last night was sunday morning standard at times.
Lets be honest. berbatov and owen are both world class players on their day. with combined fees over £100 million in their carrers. we have 2 kids at lb and rb who couldnt handle the movement of their players. we were beaten by class.... but as for signing 2 strikers? we dont need them unless we loan out a couple. we lack pace and it shows... maybe a loan winger with plenty pace?
Still quiet on the signing front, according to SKY Grayson said something should be done in morning. Que the excuse later in week I did try and get someone in before weekend but it did not materialise!

anyone else got a feeling Snoddy doesnt give a toss about leeds anymore, didnt look bothered at all
Completely agree we need to replace him and lees both not good enough
Completely agree. He is unfit and dosent track back and he is not fast enough. Get rid.
He doesnt look interested at all, Lees on the other hand is centre half as I discussed with eddie gray last night on Yorkshire radio give the lad a chance we need though three defenders two full backs and a comanding centre half. Blood White and Lees slowly
He has look of a player who doesnt want to be here , trouble is on his preformances so far this season his dream of Premiership football will remain just a dream! He cant beat first man with crosses and never could , was good value at £250k in 3rd Division but not good enough at this level. May be an International but lets not forget he is playing for third rate National Side.
Totally agree same goes for a about 5 others new boy looks like he may be ok and clayton tried i thought when we got in final 3rd we lacked movement ended up plying ball back still what do know .i love travelling 220 miles paying over the odds to watch s**t
Head down wondering around like he just didn't care, arguing with anyone he could on his own team and made lees look w**k by not protecting him down the right. Does not deserve to wear the mighty whites shirt and I was his biggest fan last season
Lees is not a right back, he is a centre back not his fault last night that he did not get any help from Snoddy
Complete joke of a performance, thought it was berbatov in disguise, but s**tter. showed no passion, looks like he wants to be anywhere but playing for Leeds at the mo!
He thinks he is alot better than he actually is. If he wants to play in the premiership he will have to pull his finger out because he looked poor last night.
I've heard rumours that he's going through a bit of a tough time personally. My brother saw him in Leeds on a Tuesday night a few weeks ago, apparently he was absolutely hammered, all over the place and talking all sorts of rubbish. I've heard he likes a drink and a gamble, I hope that they won't let that get the better of him.
Another theory could be that he's been unsettled by the sale of Max Gradel - won't help our best players motivation if they see their fellow high achievers sold.
I agree but who would we replace him with? We've already sold Gradel. Sam
never really had a chance but don't think he is the answer.
I completely agree. its not just last night tho, ive been to every home game this season and he is slow, lazy, doesnt track back, waits for the ball to come to him, expects a pass to land on a penny peice for him, shouts at his own players.
However we all know that with effort he can put in some excellent performances.
I am sick of seeing him on the wing. Hes not fast enough to be a winger. I would like to see Snodgrass in a central free role. I think we would see the best of Robert Snodgrass in a central role. Hes a lost part on the wing. anyone agree?
Totally agree with him playing more central, i've been saying this for years. He has never shown the crossing ability or the pace to be a winger
Can see him going the same way as Andy Robinson, shame really.
Looks to me as though he wants his move to celtic, which is about his level as his lack of pace would make ineffective in the english top tier.
Looks to me like a player who has had his head turned. I dont think the sale of Gradel has helped either. If he carried on like thsi it would have been better to have sold him in the summer. Saying that where would the money have gone? KB back pocket?
