Away kit to be black and yellow BLACK???? Reliable source

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Its the same as last year with the new sponsor

Agree0 Disagree3

No, if you notice the away kit from the season before always becomes the new 3rd kit, and then a new away kit is released

2007-08: Away kit = yellow
2008-09: away kit =dark and light blue stripes, third kit is the yellow one from last season with new sponsor
2009-10: New yellow away kit released, blue striped kit used as third kit
2010-11: New blue away kit released, yellow kit from last season becomes third kit
2011-12: New yellow and black away kit released, blue kit from last season becomes third kit

Agree1 Disagree0

Could be interesting yellow and black

Agree2 Disagree0

Yes, it is going to be yellow and black hoops to look like a wasp, we're hoping to sting the opposition :-)

Won't be impressed by Michael Brown coming to Leeds I'd it's true, he isnt very good apart from being numb and kicking people. It would be like signing a Sunday league player

Believable2 Unbelievable3

Would be a great signing - not that I'd expect any of the happy souls on here to be impressed.

Agree5 Disagree1

He would do a quality job in the centre of midfield, just the player we need

Another week gone and no new names 2 fill the gaps left by those departed so I thought I'd give u my team 4 the 1st few friendlies
Rachkubta
Connelly O'Brien Bruce Parker
Snods Howson Clayton Max
Nunez
Bechio
It may b this team start in Aug too
It's not as bad as some people think but the squad is far 2 weak in case of injuries. Wot do u think ED ?
Keith LUFC

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Not a prayer of that being the team in a month's time - especially not Parker at left back or Clayton in midfield.

Team we could of have this season if SG and Bates woke up and made sure we kept players we already had happy and brought in new players.

Players Linked with Leeds:
George friend
Lonergan
Smith
Woodgate
Stockdale
Montgomery
Jason Brown
Dudek
Cork
Greening
Thoughts Ed who be the bet signings from that lot? {Ed001's Note - I thought Lonergan had already signed elsewhere? Sorry I am a bit out of touch right now as I have been busy with a family problem and not keeping up with transfers. Personally I am not sure I would want any of those, possibly Dudek if he hasn't stagnated too much on Madrid's bench. Cork has also signed for Southampton hasn't he?}

Believable0 Unbelievable3

Well you can scrap the below as they will all go elsewhere so youhave a short list..
Lonergan
Smith(money talks)
Woodgate
Stockdale
Dudek
Cork

Too expensive for mr bates

Right now im watching derry city v shamrock rovers on irish tv. The reading manager is in the crowd, he's watching rovers garry maccabe. He's prob the best player in the league of Ireland. If leeds are that tight on wages why arn't they looking at bringing in some of the best league of Ireland players, those lads are on peanuts.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Because we still couldn't pay better wages than some championship teams.

Agree2 Disagree1

08 Jul 2011 19:27:21
i'll go for 10 cos i don't think he'll be the number 1. don't know who it will be but there is plenty of time left in this window.

Believable0 Unbelievable3

08 Jul 2011 18:30:14
I am seriously starting to worry.

Ken Bates has said himself that we're losing out on players to Premiership Clubs "but that just shows the calibre we're going for"

We NEED to replace the players we've lost. And Bowyer is going to Ipswich and Everton have come in for Lonegran... time is running out

Believable4 Unbelievable2

It doesnt matter about the calibre we're going for if we dont get them due to low wages offers, we'll end up with loans again zzz

Agree3 Disagree0

08 Jul 2011 16:45:56
Jol said, Schwarzer and Stockdale are part of my plans for the coming season. And there is no way Stockdale will go to another club.

Yet another target gone will we ever get anyone its time Ken Bates either puts the money up or sells up and gets out. In Grayson we trust but his hands are tied by Bates and his miser wages.

Believable2 Unbelievable3

Very very boring comments. Same every day.

Agree1 Disagree4

Dont read them then

Agree3 Disagree0

08 Jul 2011 16:43:59
Once again sg will get no quality as bates will give him nothing to spend. Bates is only interested in bates not Leeds. Bottom three after six games and Grayson will be gone and it will be down to bates.
BATES OUT

Believable4 Unbelievable3

Yawn.

Agree2 Disagree3

Load of bollocks and boring.

Agree1 Disagree3

08 Jul 2011 16:01:33
lets end this simply, we have to be patient and believe in grayson, he knows what hes doing and bates wont want the club screwed up as he wont get as much money if it is so people we will sign:
stockdale on loan or smithies
lichaj on season loan
smith on a free
matt killgallon on a low price
max kruse on a free

therefore bates spends around 2.5 million at most and if he sells bessone, grella, paynter, bromby he will get about half a million in total and then he makes only a loss of maximum 2 million and we WILL get promoted

SIMPLES
bailz say watch this space MOT

ps bates sell up asap

I used to go to school with a Sanchez Payne, not sure if anyone heard of him but he was training at Leeds academy. I've seen him play and played with him a few times and he's a quality player. Simon should sign him up.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

He's still at the academy...

Agree1 Disagree0

He's already signed a proffesional contract with Leeds as have the Turner twins, Joe McCann, Zac Thompson, Monty Gimpel and Alex Cairns - OS

{Ed008's Note - Post of the week!

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Thank you, im figuring bates would sell within the region of 50 million, i wont splash like leicester but i will bring in quality. i will also bring lucas radebe back as coach and fill the stadium once more

Agree1 Disagree0

Sorry mate, but haven't you heard There's no profit in football. Great idea though........maybe just a £5 million investment for players. Leeds aren't we.....

He wont win the lottery...he cant win any signings :-)

I bet the tight wad used all the cash from todays conference at elland road to buy his tickets.

Let be realistic and stop moaning - bates WON'T pay big wages so we won't sign big players - the best players we have now are the only ones we WILL have anyone who does sign will just be squad players - rachubka will be our number 1 and a few loans might come in to boost the squad but don't think we will be buying anyone - let's just accept we have done well to get out of Div 1 and settle for life in the championship for now - am a Grayson fan but bates is a business man and runs a club accordingly - Chelsea never had success till he left - it's frustrating but we have to put up with it and just get behind the team we have

Believable9 Unbelievable4

Fully agree....too many dreamers on here

Agree7 Disagree3

Chelsea only had success because they were bought out by a billionaire, bates has got us out of debt and were making a profit

Agree3 Disagree1

So now we are just out to make a profit and not out to win games? What a ridiculous thing to say - read again what I wrote , I was trying to say let's be patient and that people shouldn't expect bates to spend cos he won't - his interests (clearly like yours ) are just profit - maybe you have a house in Monaco too

Agree2 Disagree2

Now now children, both valid points, fact is every fan, SG and hopefully all the players want to win games and promotion, however bates is there to ensure another "living the dream" F up dont happen again, and hopefully while the club is making a profit which is important they are using that to raise the wage cap/transfer funds slowly.

You cant blame bates for his ways, I'd rather build slowly than fall to the bottom of the leagues again like it seems all you jumped up dreamers want

Agree1 Disagree1

We're making a profit or HE is? was that a typo?

I feel like one of the only god damn FANS on this page for god's sake

I don't care WHO we sign, as I support LEEDS

Players left because they didn't want to play LET THEM

Lets support LEEDS and not players, In LEEDS I trust, In GRAYSON I trust and In BATES I DO TRUST.. as we are MOVING FORWARD..

SO FOR CHRISTS SAKE STOP MOANING ABOUT NOT SIGNING FLIPPING LONERGAN

Unfortunately we wont be moving forward without them...hence all the posts

Agree7 Disagree4

'Unfortunately we wont be moving forward without them...hence all the posts'

guess ur winning the lotto tonight as you can obviously see into the future

Agree1 Disagree4

What an utterly ridiculous comment Not caring who we sign does not make you more of a fan than those who do, it just makes someone who hasn't a clue. Of course it matters who we sign, if we sign the wrong players we wont progress, if we make the right signings we will have a good chance of success.

It is important that we all get behind whoever comes in regardless and give them our full support but if we sign players who aren't of the right quality we will not be able to compete.

Agree6 Disagree1

I'm a true Leeds supporter and I do care who we sign, as i want us to actually WIN GAMES.

Agree5 Disagree0

I do support leeds, i just want them to do go whivh we wont with no decent signings

Agree4 Disagree0

So we'll support 11 binmen out on the pitch then? Of course it matter who we bloody sign.

Agree3 Disagree0

That rubbish if your a true leeds fan then you want us to sign the players that will get us to the next level, not settle for mid table mediocrity. FACT

Agree4 Disagree0

08 Jul 2011 13:00:49
Isn't this supposed to be a Leeds United rumours page Ed? The majority of comments are just plonkers critiscising the management and ownership. Grayson has done a fantastic job and Bates is a businessman that knows what he's doing, we're one of few teams that make a profit, we'll be the ones laughing at the teams that are going into administration at the end of it.

Grayson will bring in players that will make the team stronger, but ill be surprised if anyone wanted to come with fans like ours.

Believable4 Unbelievable4

And how do you bring good players in with low wages and only loan players who want good wages?

Agree2 Disagree1

If Bates caps wages and wont put his hand in his pocket to buy players we will never match the super rich owners of Leicester etc and we will never see the premiership again until we get bought out....amazing players will not come for 10k a week...simple

Agree3 Disagree1

We dont need amazing players, we need good squad players

Agree5 Disagree0

Your not much of a fan if u dont want amazing players....lmao

Agree3 Disagree0

Blackpool didnt have amazing championship players and went up. Its all about the team working together in this league thats why we did so well last year as did Norwich. Grayson likes passionate players and that suits this division.

Agree2 Disagree0

And they soon come back down

I get why people are moaning about lack of activity, but those moaning about the people doing so need to realise their are NO 'likely' transfers to discuss at present as alot of likely targets previously have gone to other clubs. its only natural people express their anxieties they do love Leeds at the end of the day. Otherwise this page would be blank lol or we'd be discussing our 'likely' signing of Messi, Ronaldo etc lol

Agree2 Disagree0

If you were a fan you'd know what we went through with administration and the deduction of 15points, thats why bates has capped the wages, not just to be a tight t**t but to keep the club financially healthy

Agree1 Disagree0

He would have capped the wages anyway

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Jul 2011 12:40:58
was at local waitrose in otley and i bumped into ricardo fuller, i didnt dare say anything because im presuming he was with his wife and two kids, i heard he was coming to leeds on loan or something, do u know anything ed? and do u think it would be a good move?

Believable1 Unbelievable1

08 Jul 2011 12:48:31
Looks like Svens interested in Owen Hargreaves (source: Sky sports news) looks like thats another player Leicester will beat us to
And the reason: they are putting their hands in their pockets and spending some money when Leeds cant even secure a a second place keeper from a league 1 team SHAMBLES

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Lonergan will already have a premiership wage as hes had 7 pay rises in 11 years at preston just to keep him there, hes not gonna drop his wage and we cant afford what hes on

Agree3 Disagree0

If Leicester are happy to pay big wages to a player who has only played 4 games in 3 years (3 of which he had left the field injured) then good luck to 'em. Sven is doing exactly what he did at Notts County...assembling a squad of players who are only there for the money.

Agree2 Disagree0

Leicester lost 7million last year, god only knows how much they will lose this year- is there anyone they arn't going to sign? Typical sven spend shed loads a money gambling on promotion. I'd much rather still have a club on a stable footing and we still finished above them last season. You can't buy team spirit.

Agree3 Disagree0

Believe me Sven is on a stable footing at Leicester owing to having billionaire owners...

Agree2 Disagree1

08 Jul 2011 12:06:22
I agree although people keep chirping that the transfer window has only just opened, at the end of the day most of the best deals are done on free transfers which occur prior and within the first week of the transfer window opening. And lets face it Bates is unlikely to be flashing the cash, although there are still a few top quality free transfers left most of the best bargains for our wage level have gone elsewhere. Blaming Grayson is not the best way to go about it, its not his fault that we seem to be missing out on said players when it comes to personal terms. Just hope that they manage to prove us wrong and bring out a few gems.

I wish everyone would stop making all these BS stories about how they've seen so and so in mcdonalds and outside a hotel. It's genuinely boring. Also, the line 'I heard it from SG's son' is also a load of horse. We will get who we get, no one knows yet. It doesnt make you important to LUFC because you make up some naff rumour.

I think people are simply passing the time, their isnt much else to discuss is there?

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Jul 2011 11:33:38
Everybody saying we dont need to splash the cash, we need to stay financially stable, don't talk wet. With the delph fee, the big crowds we get, the massive amount of season tikets we buy, all the merchandise we sell, top players on s**t wages There must b a kitty with sum money in and i dnt mean like 250.000 i mean a couple of mill. We are one the best supported teams in the country and up there in the world. There is money, bates is just a tight ****. Like sum1 sed before if i was an ambitious player for leeds united i wud b long gone If we cant compete wi the likes of brighton wi wages an transfer fees. Then we might aswell give up now

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Yes but we also have much larger overheads than most clubs in this division due to the stupid spending of the past that means we now rent thorp arch and elland road. there are clubs doing what we did 10 years ago which is spending money they havent got in the hope they get promoted and can pay back the debt. although a complete crook, bates is at least doing it the sensible although frustrating way. delphs fee was also based hugely on future apps for villa, england, trophies and sell on clauses by the way - NOT a ridiculous amount of money upfront

Agree3 Disagree1

And we also pay alot higher ticket prices than othet clubs, surely that would balance out?

Agree2 Disagree0

Agreed the crowds we draw in and the prices of everything else are much higher than everywhere else in the Championship, that would surely balance the figures.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jul 2011 11:33:05
Why if all these players we are getting are free agents, i.e no nego'ing with other clubs have they not already singed. Take smith, was released weeks ago surley if he wanted to play for leeds he would have walked down the bloody A1. the fact is SG & KB can't attract the players they want.

I agree we should not be throwing silly money about wether we have it or not. but we cant even attract freebies

I fear for the coming season, i hope i'm wrong. i will be there what ever we do.

We are Leeds MOT

Believable2 Unbelievable3

Well smith was photographed training with Newcastle on the official site so he can't be officially released - what was said officially that Smith would be allowed to leave on a free to anyone who'd have him
Not sure what the ed can tell us?

Agree0 Disagree0

Smith hasnt been released, get your facts right before you start whinging about SG & KB, he's still got a year on his contract with newcastle at £60k per week but has been told he can go, he is NOT a free agent

Agree1 Disagree1

Glad someone agrees with me for once :)
come on lads MOT I'm sure there'll be players soon enough

Agree0 Disagree0

Just because a player is available 'on a freebie' doesn't mean you get them for nowt They demand higher wages due to the lack of a transfer fee and you still have to stump up a signing fee. This is even the case with loan players, last season Leicester had to part with £1m to Everton to loan the Yak and that's not taking his wages into consideration.

Agree1 Disagree0

Smith has a year left on his contract, he's on 60k a week and is reluctant to be in the NPC or drop his wages to return. Please put this to bed, he is happy at Newcastle, and I'm happy amongst others that he's a greedy git
Your all wasting your time over a 'player' that clearly doesnt care about us, so why give him the time of day. Its like your all begging him, grow a pair

Agree1 Disagree0

Since when have we sunk so low, its embarrassing

People seem to care more about AS than Leeds

Just heard thats Bates was keen on signing the Leeds "masters" side that won the Yorkshire masters to help us get promotion but a couple are still on tag and the others wanted more than a couple of pies and pints at half time
O'Dowd (i carnt remember boy george playing for leeds), Sharp , Cousins , Butler , Forrester, Whelan, Huckerby and Whijnard.

Believable1 Unbelievable3

Well we had a dominand centre half in butler in the masters..mmmmmmmm....sign him back up

Agree1 Disagree2

Will you be moaning come the end of the season if we do poorly? Will you be moaning about lack of Key area's being covered by decent signing when we reach the end of the season? Im sure you will all wish we'd have adressed our problems now, when our holes are so evident.

1. we havent actually lost out as no one knows what is actually happening.
2. whats this personall terms thing all about we dont actually no whats happening and if everton have come in for him its obviously bigger wages and prem football.
3. we have been linked with David Stockdale who is a good keeper.

I am a season ticket holding North stand regular who has defended SG and KB through thick and thin but no more. It is clear that all the 'targets' are slipping through our fingers ie Westwood, Lonergan etc. Why sell a good young keeper if all you are going to do is bumble through filling in the position until all you are left with are loan options or god forbid Paul Rabchubka in the No1 jersey. Really losing faith now as pre season kicks off next week and all we have is a squad with several less players than last year. There will be no promotion this year and following the quite dramatic fall from Christmas onwards who knows where we will end up. I dont want, Smith, Woodgate or Bowyer either, too old, too injury prone and too expensive.

Why do some people come on here posting total lies? Do they have nothing better to do, if it doesnt say it on Leeds website, sky website or BBC then it isnt even close to being true,

Am worried that teams like Bristol can pay better wages than leeds when neil K went and seems that some possible leeds targets are opting for moves elswhere, i for one want someone to but the club of bates, they dont even have to be billionares just someone that will invest in the TEAM and not just building hotels and stuff round the stadium,

Come on leeds lets get some good players in and now because if we dont we will not be getting play offs again which would possibly mean the sacking of grayson i think as we all know leeds as a whole has very big expectations many of us were dissapointed with 7th last season even though we came up from league 1 with our squad and a few freebies and loans

Leeds for life :)

Leicester City are the latest club to be linked with former Manchester United and England star Owen Hargreaves, BBC Radio Leicester understands.

The 30-year-old midfielder has been without a club after being released by Alex Ferguson in May.

Boss Sven-Goran Eriksson told BBC Radio Leicester: "I would take him at once if he's fit. He's a great - he was at least - a great, great football player.

"I don't know if he's fit. He hasn't played football in a long time."

I like many will judge Ken Bates, at the beginning of the season, with the team that is assembled
He owns the football club now, unfortunately money talks nowadays.
If he is not prepared to take the club forward, maybe its about time he stood down and sold it to people who want to make this club great again.

These cheerleader supporters are probably the ones that thought Risdale and co, had the best interest at heart for Lufc, maybe if people were more critical of ceratin ppl involved in the club things wouldnt have gone so far without the public knowing ;)

I dont think the main issue is it being retro more so the cheap quality, lack of time to design it, the ugly macron men weirdly placed on the shoulder for the TV cameras to see, and the miniture leeds badge etc
