I don't think some people realise the seriousness of the matter, there saying thank god Warnock has gone, we are 5 pts from relegation with no manager, I would have preferred Warnock to stay until we were safe, what if redfearn's results are as bad as last time we could be going down.

Believable6 Unbelievable6

The change had to be made otherwise warnock could of quite easily have taken us down I didn't see where the next win was going to come from me

Agree7 Disagree0

I think some fans on here are blinded by their dislike for Warnock to see what's going to happen here - Redfearn will be put in charge till the end of season and do everyone remember what results were like the last time he was in charge - as for a new manager, forget Poyet, O'Neil etc we will only get someone who is already out of a job because Leeds won't pay the compensation or high wages for a top manager who will want money for players - McDermott or Curbishley is what we will get - like the old saying says "be carefull what you wish for, you might just get it" - I think there is a real danger we could go down now

Agree6 Disagree3

NW never stood a chance. He was brought in as a 'water off a ducks back' manager to sail turbulent waters which would have destroyed a younger man.
He has made mistakes but I wish him well.
I am destroyed about what is/has happened at my beloved club.
Dunno much about GFH but live in hopes that LUFC will rise again

Warnock was never my man. But he dealt with a bad deck of cards. Ownership, generally average squad (sorry lads). Limited investment. And a changing league.

This was the reality. And he didn't succeed.

But as Leeds fans let's show some class. Wish he and his missus well on their retirement.

And look to our future.

We will be premier league in 2 seasons. In Europe in 4 seasons. And the best supporters of any professional football club now. And forever.

Get Poyet in please GFH. Good football, likes young players, and he was the brains behind Wise era. Vinny. MOT.

Believable11 Unbelievable1

He won't leave Brighton for Leeds, stability both on and off the pitch, compared to the soap opera which is Leeds utd, not a cat in hells chance of poyet coming to leeds, its going to be someone who is desperate for a job, I think it will be mark hughes.

Agree3 Disagree3

I would rather Cantona manage us than him, Vinny.

So warnock you have finally showed your true colours! You say there is no rush to appoint a new manager however you feel the time is right to leave! All season you have said we could reach the playoffs! I've been all season and I felt we might get dragged into the relegation battle. Instead of waiting till the end of the season which in his words, there would be more candidates avaliable you have ran! To scared of having a relegation on his cv. Why would it matter thought he was retiring! The great one thought he could gets us promoted, don't make me laugh he only did it with qpr as he someone had taarabt in the champ! Oh well redders will do us proud with 6 games to go as he has passion and might want to play football instead of lump it to Morrison or varney and feed off the scraps! No more paper talks of cling hill, Sean derry either and maybe finally get rid of Michael brown, it can't all be bad! Whatever happens, through thick and thin, MOT, whitey

Believable3 Unbelievable3

Maybe some fans need to catch a grip. He came and the majority said he would be a savour and get a promotion. When it didn look like happening after 4 months the chants/ talking etc began. How could he stay? With fans chanting etc. I never wanted him but we need to get behind the manager. Hard to see any manager coming in and getting a straight promotion. Was he only brought in because he is so thick skinned.

01 Apr 2013 22:16:18
I am not a religious man but thank God Warnock has left our club. What a joke we have been all season. He came wanting a record eighth promotion. Did he not realise good cup runs don't count towards the league positions.
Let's make sure we get the right man in and get this club on the up again. I'm not going to say instant promotion but just heading in the right direction, playing attractive attacking football, having a working midfieldh and defending stoicly.
IMO only one man. Martin Oneil with Richard Naylor as assistant to one day take the job.

He's gone, I for one am not that sad but do admire his honesty in his parting statement but you have to look at the facts, the dull boring football, the ever decreasing attendances, the poor signings but be honest if GHF had backed him with big bucks and he still failed then I would be slagging him off even more, so in my mind GHF have to shoulder the responsibility for this debacle. Their next move is absolutely crucial whether its a temp from inside to the end of the season or an out of work manager young or old, its clear to me that GHF do NOT know much about the English game and should not underestimate the priceless experience of any well known figure within the game. I hope to the almighty that the next one in this poisoned chalice does a better job, whether it be McDermott, O'Neill, Dimatteo or any other name that crops up over the next few days. My money would be on McDermott not because I think he's the man but he has been very quiet in links to any club. Whoever it is I obviously wish them well and for gods sake put some backsides on those empty seats.

ive been saying for weeks that we had no chance of the play offs, but even more worrying what about relegation? get in the real world folks we are 5 points above the drop zone!

Believable5 Unbelievable0

RUBBISH, yes we are 5 points above relegation but so are 15 other teams and do you seriously believe this squad is worse than 15 other teams in this division.
Get real and get behind the lads, colin has finally gone (whoo hoo) and these players have been held back by his tactics.
I bet we win 4 of the last 6 now he has gone.

I fear the rumours of mark hughes could be right, no smoke without fire, also I hope redfearns more successful than last time or we could be playing 1st division football next season, are we as prepared for the fight as teams below us I don't think so, I fear for our club we are in turmoil yet again.

Answer me this,
Parkin has an estimated personal wealth of £50m.
What will he offer us buying 51%?
Saudi investors with him? Why aren't they investing with GFH if they want in?
Parkin doesn't have the contacts people think/assume. He is a a british entrepreneur who has made most of his money through haulage (clipper)

To me, he isn't our saviour.

Can any one explain any more for me as to what eWorld offer?

At least a grasp of British football and what it means to people. he might not be minted but we'll be stable.

Prior GFH comments that they will be looking for a young guy also confirms Gus to be the man. I'd seetle for him or MON. Both have premiership pedigrees as players or managers but we are Leeds. We. Deserves class

Warnock gone at last!
Now bring in a manager who will gently bring in the wealth of youngsters we have (well done Dawson who looked promising today) and blend with pace and skill.
I do think we have better players than last year (snoddy and Becchio apart). The defence is developing but forward play clueless putting defence under constant pressure, there is no let up! We lack leadership and I feel the captaincy should change, although since peltier has moved to full back he looks much better he does not strike me as a captain.

McCormack should be captain, the only vocal one. plus he cares.

In my opinion there's 5 steps we need to take before the start of next season.

1. Get the new manager in sharpish, its between O'neill, McDermott or Poyet for me.

2. Clear the deadwood out to add a small amount to the transfer kitty. e.g pugh, brown, pearce, austin, varney etc

3. Get shares sold to add investment to the squad. We don't need a massive amount but a substantial amount to compete.

4. Add to the squad.
- a fast, poacher type striker like johnny russell
- 2 box to box midfielders like Lewis McGugan and Neil Danns
- 2 fast (ish) wingers like Chris Burke and Matt Phillips

5. Get the buzz back around ER!

I thought he was wrong when he sold Clayton but for a manager with such huge experience and expectations, chasing a record breaking promotion, Warnock played some absolutely dire football and bought some dreadful players, I can only conclude he put a massive bet on himself to fail and sail hopelessly into the OAP sunset!

Warnock slags and berates Tom Lees all weekend for his tackle and red card. We all complained about him doing this and pointed out how he never says anything bad about his signings. Today Pearce gives away a stupid penalty and what does Warnock say. "can't fault the lads". Total ass!

Hopefully his post match interview was him resigning to us and he is currently doing that to Haigh and Patel right now.

Can't take much more, the brandy bottle has had a right hammering this season.

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Greens shot goes in or Byrams header goes in it all changes you can't blame Warnock for everything, he has not been properly backed, he wanted to keep Snodgrass and Bechio as well as sign other players. So I know I am probably in the minority but I don't dislike or blame him.
DP

Agree5 Disagree6

We haven't been good all season and we just haven't deserved to be in the playoffs and now were not. We never had a realistic chance anyway only when jerome was here did we actually play well. I blame ken bates and neil warnock to be honest, bates made this season 10 times harder right from the start and Colin made it even harder with his tactics.

all parties involved must now be thinking what possessed them to push through the Becchio-Morison deal. we lost our key man and leading scorer, Luc has barely played a game for Norwich, and old Moz had a cushy gig sat in their reserves instead of getting slated by frustrated Leeds fans. was the money worth it?

01 Apr 2013 19:43:00
right, let's start from the back.
Kenny-OUT, poor distribution
pearce-OUT, can`t head the ball and generally poor
Warnock-KEEP, very capable at this level
Byram-KEEP, obviously one of our best players
Peltier-can`t make up my mind,
Lees-KEEP, decent and still learning. Will get better:)
Green-KEEP, getting better and looks a good buy to me
Austin-OUT, poor passer
Varney-OUT, tries hard but pants
Diouf- good season but too slow and always looking for a foul, get up and pass the bloody thing!
Dawson-KEEP, looking forward to seeing him next season
Morrison-KEEP, needs to get fitter, but not the sort of player to track back, so don`t expect it.
Macca-KEEP, not sure weather he`s an out and out striker? behind the front 2?

we need pace throughout especially on the flanks and a real striker who can score. Any thoughts?

Oniel is the manager for me, yes ten yrs too late, but would be a good challenge for him to get his teeth into.

Has Colin left yet? gets busy back down the M1 if you don`t leave early!

Oh and today was more hoofball garbage.

Believable6 Unbelievable3

Warnock has taken the team backwards, let's hope we don't get relagated, that is what warnock wants and he will have had a successful final season in football before his retirement and this is getting plainer to see by every match {Ed013's Note - Leeds have no cutting edge, if they did they would have won today. Believable3 Unbelievable1

Austin? April fool or are you blind? He wouldn't pick out a player in a white shirt 9 times from 10 if there were 100 on the pitch. One of the worst passers of the ball we've ever had. All muscle, no brain. Typical Warnock signing.

Agree1 Disagree0

What about Pearce eh? If an 8 year gave away a peno lie that you'd take him off. Simply Stupid. Furthermore, the game was almost 12 minutes old before we strung together 2 passes. In case Warnock doesn't know it a pass is where one of our players kicks the ball intentionally to another one of our players who then tries to do the same. Kicking the ball from inside our half and watching it take 20 seconds to land in their box is not a pass. That's kicking and hoping. Also thought that Warnock was a disgrace on the sideline - constantly moaning and bitching to the 4th official. He should go now. And finally don't expect any improvement next season. Our great club will not be getting any huge investment. Bates is still pulling the strings and GFH are just a smokescreen for him to squeeze every last shilling out of our club. Bates out, Warnock Out, and 1/2 of this miserable team out as well. Rant over from a very fed up white.

If Warnock held his hands up for once and took some responsibility then people might feel a little sympathy but his sheer arrogance and outrageous comments do him no favours.

If we lose to Derby though. I expect Neil to be carrying the banners himself, right into the GFH corner office at ER along with a letter of resignation.

I too think MON being available is a God send. and us having MON with SAFC having DiCanio. well what more proof would you need of a divinity.

And He wears white. need I say more.

MOT (hopefully with MON)

Well said ED, i'm glad someone talks sense - I don't think Warnock can take us any further and we do need a new man in charge and some money for new players but what's the point in slagging him off and spouting nonesense about him trying to damage Leeds - although I do fully agree about Mark Hughes, we DO NOT want him

Agree2 Disagree1

He should have resigned ed. unless he is completely deluded, he knows he has failed. Statistics don't lie over the course of a season. If he had pride he should of gone already. If things weren't going the way he had been promised behind the scenes, and he had any pride, he shoukd have resigned. He dosent have pride. He doesn't care for leeds. He just wants his payday and at his families expense. Sad man {Ed001's Note - I have to say, having seen how he treats his wife, she is used to being screamed at by him. Just ask the lads who did his removal to Sheffield how he was screaming at them and his wife over the placement of wardrobes (yes seriously) in the bedroom!}

To be fair what is going on behind the scenes does not affect who he picks and how he asks them to play, any abuse Warnock gets today is of his own making in my opinion. Hughes will not be our new manager, the signs are that the decision will be down to Steve Parkin who we appoint and there's no way he will pick Hughes. My feeling is that it will be either O'Neill or McDermott once Parkin completes the due diligence he is currently reported to be carrying out.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yep, well said ED, we're all frustrated at the mo but let's get behind the lads today. MOT

Agree0 Disagree1

Sorry Ed but that argument can then be made for almost any statement ever made.

If Warnock held his hands up for once and took some responsibility then people might feel a little sympathy but his sheer arrogance and outrageous comments do him no favours.

Normally I would never agree with abusing our own manager during the 90 minutes but with the season over if he got enough abuse maybe with a bit of luck he'd do the right thing and walk after the game.

If we get Brian McD in that will mean both lufc and LeedsRL will be managed by a McDermott!
Anyone else believe in meaningful coincidences?

The Brian McDermot praises Ryan Hall performance headlines may lead to some confusion

Just listened to warnock slating Tom Lees, I would not be suprised if warnock is telling GHF to sell him to Sheff u so his favourite team could benefit. Warnock is a complete dipstick, he will leave us in a far worse position than we were before his vast experience came to Elland Road. JUST SACK HIM

Get rid of Neil. and Ken.

Bates will be gone by the end of the season as will Warnock, if not sooner. Then hopefully we can finally move forward with additional investment.

No a few bad results would ruin naylor straight away leave him in charge of the youth team and maybe in 3 or 4 year he may well be the man

Out of managers available i'd take oneill. mcdermott or oleary. I know people won't oleary back but its a fact that apart from grayson all our bosses since him have been carp. Any of these 3 are likely and would do a goodbjob I have no doubt. Poyet would be great but def will not happen

Please - NOT Hughes!

By his own admission Warnock has never been a Leeds supporter, in fact he doesn't like us at all. Remember his celebration when we were relegated? Whilst he has continually spoken about promotion, it has been generally accepted that we won't be in the top six. We are now quietly slipping towards relegation. What a victory that would be for him -Being paid a fortune by Leeds to get us relegated. Persuading the club to bring in Mark Hughes as next manager really would be his icing on the cake! Time to worry if we lose again today! Always said it could end in tears.

Believable6 Unbelievable0

NOT HUGHES! Useless ex-scum failure as a manager despite having loads of money to spend! make it clear at the game later - Hughes NOT WELCOME!

First poster here. I wasn't suggesting I would want Hughes to come rather Warnock would suggest it as a final slap in the teeth for the Leeds fans. I have already posted that I was prepared to put up with Bates but Hughes would be the final straw.

WTF do we want O. Neil for this man has blagged his way through his career, what has he ever done, he took Leicester to wembley in his early days then done sweat F**K all, his career is full of warking out of jobs or getting the sack

Believable7 Unbelievable10

He has been sacked once. He's won more league cups than us, his league positions with villa were 6th, 6th, 6th and 9th and we are trying to get that 6th place but in the championship, he is our man, experienced, successful and passionate. If we wanted him when we were in prem I can't see why he wouldn't be wanted now {Ed001's Note - he finished 11th with Villa in his first season, he also spent more money than any other manager in their history (by a huge margin) and gave out long term, and ridiculously high, contracts to older players who spent their time sat on the bench.}

He did really well with villa got them in the top 5 then villa sold Milner and wouldn't give him any money to spend.
Who else is there that is available. To be fair I don't think we will afford him anyway.
I think macd will be a good choice but Lambert would be better if he loses his job.

Why do all us Leeds fans want Poleon back but our toothless manager doesn't, oh of course he hates Leeds and loves Sheffield. Poleon is our brightest prospect and our best striker and what a cock up not getting Boyd.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

01 Apr 2013 10:53:52
Boyd too much of a rip off. Poleon doesn't do the defensive side of things good enough that's why he's out on loan.

Poleon is a striker, in the mould of Defoe. he doesn't defend. Boyd has been class since moving. both would be better choices than our current crop of forwards.

Get McDermott in now! Read on tv web how he has had a taste of Premiership and wants it again big time. Conducts himself very well and tries to play football the way it should be played! PA

Believable15 Unbelievable6

Totally agree. Saw McDermott on a certain Sunday morning Tv program with Kammy. He was asked about the Leeds job, and made great comments about the Leeds fans and the size and history of the club. He seems to have the drive and desire required to take on the job. In contrast Warnock was on Tv this evening and seems deflated, he's on the beaches of Cornwall already. He was talking about caretaker managers coming in etc. He did say some interesting things however. He said GFH had no clue about football and that they had to sell shares in the club in order to buy players in the summer. long summer ahead me thinks.

Agree7 Disagree2

To be fair and i'm not knocking McDermott but any wanna be manager would say good stuff about the size of Leeds as a club, the fans and the set up, the problem would be at the interview stage when GFH tell them we haven't got a pot to p*"s in and what can you do with loan-ins and has-beens then and only then would separate the men from the boys.

Agree3 Disagree0

Foxrat I agree, but I think it would seperate the desperate for a job and those with ambition, which is not good for Leeds.

Agree1 Disagree0

I think things will change by summer, steve parkin has logged his bid in for 51%, its understood to be under du dilligence, let's hope so, someone will passion for leeds & a desire to win

I think reberto di mateo would be the best manager to replace warnock. its funny he hasn't been mentioned by many people already or even a front runner. I was looking at the odds and David moyes is third favourite to be next boss and reberto isn't even on the list of about 40.

Believable9 Unbelievable3

I think people are not mentioning him since he was the last manager to win the Champions League. Not a very realistic target for a club with no money, a poor squad, a half-empty ground and confusion over the ownership's intentions. Nothing wrong with setting your aims high but there's 'high' and 'out of reach'.

He managed west brom Afew years ago when they warnt spectacular.
