All the idiots slagging Grayson need to wake up and look at the bigger picture. I'll explain.

On Friday night, at a "Leeds on the Road" event , Peter Lorimer is reputed to have said that a deal to bring Fabian Delph back on loan was very near. Today it has become apparent that we haven't even spoken to Villa regarding this!

I've seen many people slating Simon Grayson's comments about Delph on the Official Site. What do you expect him to say? I bet he can't believe the situation himself!

There is no doubt that as a player Peter Lorimer is a club legend. But he has done everyone connected with the club a huge disservice saying what he did the other night. Why would he do that? A cynical ploy to sell Season Tickets perhaps?

I must stress I've never been one to constantly harp on about Bates and the general running of the club, but this latest development has left a very nasty taste. Even I am now losing faith - but those taking SG apart are aiming for the wrong target.

Oh, by the way, who was it who first claimed that Smith HAD to go to Scum blah blah etc etc. That's right - Peter Lorimer.

I agree with your comment but still feel SG is not capable of getting us promoted just look at his signings.

He makes his signings on a tiny budget.

So do 90% of managers in this division

His budget is in the top five in the division and we are 11th! Look what Keith Hill has acheived at Barnsley. He really does have a tiny budget and small squad. SG has wasted his on poor signings! SG's signings, I rest my case:-

£7million redeveloping the East Stand that we can't fill, yet the team it self is amass with freebies and loanies,Bates shows no intention of buying players or paying decent wages and is happy for the transfer trend to continue, promotion at the present is seasons away while Bates continues his Put up and shut up with fans and managerial staff alike.

Shut up you idiot! Bates simply doesn't want to waste money on players we don't need. If the right people come along he will spend, it they don't he want. What's wrong with gettijng people on the cheap or for free? it make good business sense. Regarding the 7m redevelopment, have you ever heard of planning for the future? When we do make it back to the prem, bates wants to make sure we can cash in on the new revenues, i.g the so called fans who will emerge from the woodwork.

Didn't Bates say the bank loaned the money to build that development. The banks will invest in buildings, they won't invest in players.

I'll tell you what's wrong with getting players cheap and free, try 11th in the table on the slide down it and showing no form to get out of it, and you call me an idiot.

Anyone heard of long term business strategy and planning? The trouble with Leeds as a city is its fickle fans. It has always been the same. Just read "The Unforgiven" and see for yourself the indifference and desire for instant success that makes up the DNA of the average local fans.

Being a Leeds fan is much, much more than following a football team. It is a way of life and part of your soul. We have no God given right to prosper, just a long suffering propensity to suffer. Whoever is manager deserves a period of grace, but realism has to come to the fore eventually and at the moment we are in a trough of letent despair. Its what being Leeds is all about - enjoy it if you can!

Plan for the future is that a joke were going no where with bates in charge especially now where selling howson

personally think we should get pattison sighned up hes already scored in a behind closed doors game, and is a great passer just what we need to get mccormack back on form instead of lonergan just hoofing the ball up field and hoping for the best

David Weir anyone? brilliant defensive coach, but apparently he wants to carry on playing too.

Suppose it would be better than what we have got ,and he would be able to organise and coach the younger players as the defensive coach we have should be sacked on the spot .

grayson not going anywhere anytime soon as he has cum out and admitted his interest in delph and a couple more ! for me im glad if half the people put as much effort in to support and love the club as they do to say get rid of grayson all the time elland road wud be a better place we r one of if not the best supported club in the country so lets not start turning backs on them. encouragement is the key mot 4 life!! no matter wat !

Hot on the heels of the famous '1 or 2 in before the weekend' its the 'won't bring in players for the sake of it' script. Soon to be followed by the 'player's phone switched off' and all the other excuses under the sun before we start counting 93 days back from the irrelevant play-off final and sign a whole host of rubbish that are clearly no better than what we've got and are dropped after a couple of games, all whilst we brag about how many players we told to go and take a running jump to for daring to negotiate terms

Good point made above - Groundhog day is nearly upon with the famous "we were so close to signing 1-2 premiership players" if we were so close name them, show us your ambition of what players we negotiating with - it won't hurt to name players if we didn't do the deal eh..?

SG adamant to bring in players who can make an immediate impact.... So he has bought Robbie Rodgers on a FREE, but now were waiting for a work permit to be issued??

Normal process for a player without an EU passport. Regular international so shouldn't be a problem. Go do some fact finding before posting utterly pointless drivel - or at least post something interesting or funny...

Looks like talks have broken down with Adam Clayton his contract only has 18 months left and the club and Clayton cannot agree terms already, looks like another one going to pastures new without the money coming back into the team, how many times has this got to happen before we start to give the better quality players the money they are after, we cannot afford to keep loosing our best talent to our rivals it's getting way beyond a joke, I think Bates bought Leeds because he always hated us and by owing the club he can destroy us even more from within.

Unless you were in the contract talks there is nothing to suggest this is money led. I would think that, like Howson, White, Snodgrass and Beckford and Johnson before them, Clayton probably has ambition to play at the highest possible league. If we were worrying the promotion spots. I would have no doubt that it would be easier to make people sign, problem is though we're not and are showing no signs of doing so. If an agent is whispering down your ear that premier league teams are interested would you sign a new contract with a team who are mid table a league below?

At least we'll have his weekly wages back in the pot...

If he'd wanted to do that, surely he would've made sure we DIDN'T get the share when we came out of administration.

True, why bother playing well to get Leeds into the promotion spots when you can have it all straight away sitting on the bench for a Premier League contract. shows just the type we attract.

Lets show some faith in our manager, he's Leeds through and through,

Players who so called love Leeds United easily leave us when a better offer comes knocking.

I want a manager in charge who's passionate for the club. Any time a club has showed a slight interest in Grayson, he's quick to declare his desire to stay with us.

Yes, his management skills are clearly not as good as what's out there, but lets keep faith in a manager who would do anything to be at our club.

I want a manager who wants to be here, not just for the money.

We all moan that we want loyalty from our players and manager, but we cannot show them the same loyalty back.

Well said, january certainly is not the time to bring in a new regime.
We should stick with Grayson, although he does need to improve the team.
But there is no way bates will invest in january, when prem teams are more likely to let fringe players that would do a good job in the championship go on loan.
We have enough dead wood that are being paid that we need to get rid of.
Graysons loyalty should be rewarded, not only by the fans but the players and bates.

I want to watch a team that can play quality football and we haven't seem much of that this season, his loyalty and desire to do the best for Leeds United is unquestionable ,but his managerial skills to get the best out of the squad are now being questioned.

Being a supporter is not about wanting to watch quality football. Flights to Barcelona are cheap if that's what you want. Support the team and get real. Quality football is a long way off at ER. In the meantime start supporting the team.

Gary McAllister was loyal to the club, but we didn't give him a chance. Poor lad was out of the door once it went t*ts up for a couple of matches - He could sign quality players (Snodgrass, Becchio, Freedman) and play attractive football - he couldn't win league 1 because you have to play gritty and grind out a win, but in this league he'd be able to create a master team unlike our current gritty team tactics.

I know this is a rumours site but can we leave off slagging simon grayson? with the resources hes had hes done pretty well. Like all managers hes been hit and miss in his transfer dealings. do you honestly think that curbishley, warnock or whoever would do any better with the financial consraints put on them by Mr Bates? they would have walked by now and its only graysons love of the club that stops him from jacking it in.
