With a boring few days ahead, thought I'd write a short novel! The match against Stoke on 25th is a MUST WIN game to preserve my sanity. No chance of a ticket in the Leeds end so my daughter and I will be in the big stand to the left as you face the pitch. I will be wearing my 49ers bobble hat, the closest I can get to wearing colours without being thrown out! My youngest lad is even flying back from Gibraltar where he lives and works to watch the mighty whites. My (current) wife and other son will be in the Stoke end supporting the Potters!
For context, my first ever live game was at the old Victoria Ground when Stoke ended Leeds' 29 game unbeaten start to the season, I was taken there as a Stoke fan and instantly became a devoted and lifelong Whites fan! Lowlights include a 6-2 thrashing from Stoke and the following season when our goalkeeper Melvyn Day joked we wouldn't lose 6-2 again, he was right, we lost 7-2!
In short, we need to beat a very under achieving Stoke team so I can have bragging rights in the pub that's full of Stoke followers.

Leeds United most recent 2 matches against Stoke were 8 nil aggregate score in Champions ? season 2019/ 20

My first game, as mentioned was in 1974 I believe and this team ran out in an all yellow kit with their numbers on little flag type things tucked into the top of their socks. A little ginger haired bloke ran the game and I fell instantly and irrevocably in love! Nearly 50 years later and, if anything, that love has grown!

I don't know if I could sit in the stoke end now to watch them play Leeds. My parents are thinking of doing it, but I don't think I could hid it when we scored. Having also watched quite a few games at the Brit as a kid, I think I would rather stay in the warmth of my own home ?.

The wife comes from a family of die hard Stoke fans so even after 34 years wed she still wants them to win, although she enjoys our trips to ER! My daughter and younger son are Leeds through and through but my older lad sides with his mum! Got tickets as close to we could to the away end for the 25th so if you see a big bloke in a 49ers bobble hat doing a muted cest pump during MOT that will be me!
