Shall we be frank 109% honest
1) Who on here believes it will ever happen again? Namely that Leeds United will become future EPL champions in next 30 years?
2) Given Leeds United history of winning trophies: it's obviously a no brainer that the great Don Revie was honoured with a statue outside ER.
There imo should without any doubt also be a statue of Howard Wilkinson outside ER .
2nd most successful Leeds United manager ever .

It depends who buys as baz. It’s all about money. Their bad start apart you wouldn’t rule out Newcastle achieving epl or champ league glory in next 10 yrs.
And that’s because of money.
Of course Money can’t always buy success as Chelsea are finding out at present ( soooo funny ) . But if you combine money and a small amount of smarts it does tend to make a difference.
So it’s possible baz. Don’t got to your permanent slumber yet. Hang on in there.

We could win a cup, but not the EPL, in my lifetime anyway.
Aus is right about the money aspect. It’s sad, but very true.
And I would also definitely reward Wilko with a statue.

Do not think we can win the EPL unless we have the necessary money to compete, although I still believe the greedy will get even greedier and break away into a super league…. then you never know it could happen. Definitely a statue for Sir Howard Wilkinson brilliant manager, wonderful human being too.

Not one snowflake prima donna’s in there, just a very honest hard working team. Led by a good tactician in Wilko.
I used to love how Stach’s and Gary Mac would terrorize opponents in those first 20 mins of every game.

I don’t think we will win an EPL in (the rest of) my lifetime. Then again, I’m not sure the EPL will last that much longer. The product is becoming stale and ripe for a rebrand / change. I think a new European setup is getting nearer and nearer. Saudi money will have an impact, but more worryingly is the impact of the American owners (including ours) . Half of the EPL now owned by American owners/ franchises and they are responsible for the grotesque transfer fees and salaries. Basically the EPL is the “money engine room” that funds most of the European leagues. It will break down soon enough.
Every season I pray for a cup run and yet we never take them seriously, but that still remains our only real hope of silverware. I can’t think the last time we really took a cup seriously and played our very strongest team?
Off topic I know, but isn’t it crazy that teams playing in Europe join the EFL cup in the 3rd round and essentially have to win 4 matches to win it? Notwithstanding the fact that there is no “real” European football until late September. It’s ridiculous that they actually only play in the EFL cup when they are actually playing in Europe, so what are they being protected from?
