The real football starts today - we have ta wait for our 3 points until tomorrow.

Too many column inches being taken up by the girls World Cup, will be glad when it's out the way ( and they can all get back to Sunday lunch) Oh no, there I go again- please feel free to lambast me.

Let's focus on the whites and a glorious march through this league!

Said this before which is diff to Porgie and Bess said told you.
Used to live in Lancashire and hated their inbred knowledge.
I’m not the most knowledgeable but like to acknowledge others achievements as well as Leeds.
So be it men or women they all need praise in their achievements
And yes. 1970. U r a ****head.

Living previously in Lancashire Aus ? #brave

And Aussies are notorious for being amongst the most mysoginistic in western world from international surveys .

. guess you be one of the exceptions perhaps.

1970 - maybe one of these days you might come to embrace Women’s Football, but in the meantime you’ll just need to accept that many people do actually enjoy watching top-level women’s football, and, in the absence of free-to-air coverage of much of men’s football, it’s actually refreshing to be able to watch a decent level of football played by women. Their game has come a long way at the top level, in terms of technical ability, and even the England team are a decent watch now they have an elite coach.

I only wish that Leeds United Women were competing in the WSL (rather than the fourth level of their game) , as they might have been had Cellino not withdrawn not only funding but also permission to use the Club’s name, just after they’d applied for membership of the new league. At least 2 of the Lionesses squad which won the Euros last year, Ellen White and Leeds fan Rachel Daly, had played for our great club during their career. It would have been great for our Club if they’d still been playing for us in the WSL.

Fair post Clueless! I’m new to the female version of the game but have watched some of the international matches and some of the cup games. A good watch it is too!

In Spain, I play padel, a cross between tennis and squash, growing in the UK I believe. I always watch the women’s version of the world padel tour because it’s much closer to what we can aim to play in normal games, still a much higher level but you can learn a lot from it. The men’s elite version is played at a level and way in which mere mortals cannot aspire!

CLU - I don’t have a problem with the women’s game, I agree their skill level etc has improved greatly and is way above mine! I think Aus with his addled mind completely missed the irony in my remarks.

I am a big fan of beach volleyball ofcourse and would undoubtably put Sunday lunch on hold for that. ( Aus - that is another tongue in cheek remark )

1970

The women's game was far bigger than the men's game until they were banned from playing football. It was banned because it was decided that it was unhealthy for women to be running around.

I really enjoy watching the women's game. There is no shortage of skill; played to a high level, and the crowd, for what is worth is a far nicer place to be. As Clue has said, much of it is now shown of terrestrial TV, so more exposure.

Embrace it, once all the prima-donnas have been sold off to Saudi Arabia, it might be a better watch that the EPL.
