Anybody else think going down may not be a bad thing? Hear me out…
We go down, likely hood is Mez, Koch, Ras, Struijk, Wober, Firpo, Roca, Adams, McKennie (won’t have to sign him) , Aaronson, Sini, Gnoto, Rutter and Rodrigo won’t stay. Of those, only Wober, Sini, Gnoto and Rodrigo are worth keeping. We sign an experienced GK, play Drameh, Cresswell, sign a CB, and Hejlde at the back. Those 3 looking very good a Championship level. Midfield could finally see Gyabi given a starting role, a couple of new additions or maybe Greenwood or Gray. Then we’ve got fantastic young attackers to pick from, Joseph, Perkins, Summerville, McGurk, Gelhardt. None of these youngsters will get a chance if we stay up.
IF we don’t go down all the before listed muppets will still be on the books and VO will probably get given more money to waste and we scrap it out again, enjoying maybe 6-7 weekends of the season.

There is some merit in what you say Rambo, considered this myself . Definitely a way of getting shot of most of these players . can't stand most of them.

BUT 1) what happens to the takeover if we go down? . 2) No takeover. then we still have the three stooges at Leeds United. not desirable.

No it will be catastrophic!

Good players sold cheap left with the players we don’t want.

Gnoto out Tyler Roberts back!

Anyone who thinks this might work out well needs to remember last time went went down! Work out well 16 years later.

Almost happened last season Bermo, and looking like it's going to go all the way again, none of it due to " firesales " this time, just the team bearing the fruit of all its parts sadly yet again

Obviously I don't want to go down but this is now the sum of poor players being recruited for a few seasons now, 7 wins all season tell me that

2nd most goals conceded last season, these are not flukes or down to bad luck

How many on here said Bees would struggle this year?
Why haven't Brighton been similar to ourselves since returning?

Had Dan Ashworth anything to do with it? ( I know he's left now )

Rambo, 2 points from me, firstly will we lose all those players, if there on decent contracts with decent wages do they move on? And secondly with these youngster if we bounce back how do they compete back in the prem, will they be good enough? No one knows? Big gamble! and would we not go out and buy more players?

I’m with Bermo here. Let’s stay up and run the club in a positive light, rather than firefighting and getting poor prices for valuable players. Relegation is the last thing our club needs!

And for fear someone misinterpreting what my thread is saying

I DON'T WANT MY TEAM RELEGATED.

{Ed033's Note - Leeds won't be relegated this season, surely. ;)

Poor season was down to the inept Jesse Marsch who had no idea how to evolve a team in the Premiership league. Most of the players are decent, just need a good coach to get them firing on all cylinders.
Gracia has got a chance of moving us forward if we stay up, but long term I think we need a better coach.

With all them young players starting we’d be in league one soon after. Guaranteed.

Two well run clubs.

I would rather be struggling (if that’s what it has to be) at the bottom of the Premier League than struggling to get out of the Championship year after year. The Championship is a great league but it’s basically the complete reset I cannot deal with. The relative good times we have had since that 3 - 1 win over Stoke (Bielsa’s first game) would soon become a distant memory. Even though we have struggled for the last couple of years, at least it’s against some of the best teams in Europe and it’s interesting etc.

Stoke were nailed on that season for an instant return to the Premier League; we taught them a lesson that day; they’ve not had a sniff of promotion since.

I’m too old for another period in the wilderness; Everton fans can have some instead!

Sorry but the poor season started with recruitment, not just of players but also of coaches.

Bielsa’s time was up a month before he got the tiktak.
Sorry to those who still hero worship him but the wheels had come off.

Marsch did his job of keeping us up but then should have gone.

No clear ethos behind player recruitment no continuity of playing style etc etc we went from wide expansive play to narrow tight garbage, but with the same players oh then back again to wide expansive.

The calibre of players we are buying for the prices we are paying is poor on the whole, not only do we need to stay up but we need a clear vision of playing style and player profile that we bring in, and mental strength has to be as important as technical ability.

And a big one is some proven premier league experience. Then a sprinkling of top championship talent and the rest of Europe or Latin America.

I said the entire summer and winter windows go get Gabigoal £25m proven finisher, instead orta spends 30 on potential oh and 40 on JKA! Nuff said.

Ed, as much as I would. love to be supremely confident with your "surely" comment, I fink there wouldn't be too many of us on here truly shocked if we did go down

Also I don't know what emoji didn't come out on screen in your reply, it could be a smiley face also, making me feel you might be saying something else? ?

Probably not though.

{Ed033's Note - At the moment, i feel supremely confident Leeds won't be relegated [no emoji].

I honestly don’t feel recuritment has been that bad

Yes Newcastle, Brighton and Brentford have pound for pound all been amazing (Brentford down to franke who for me is one of the best managers in the world)

But compare us to spurs, chealsea and Everton dare I say Liverpool our recuritment has been decent if not good.

Managers have cost us not the players.

Beilsa style and match day management would distory any team long team and is always a car crash waiting to happen

Jesse was the Diet Coke of beilsa sloghtly improving defence but also weakening attack so results were the same just score line slightly better.

Now we have javi who is proven and a proper manager. And he has done well. Give him time with these players and we will become a mid table team

We need to bounce back but I’m sure we will and two wins from
Next three gives us breathing space.

My number one to go would be Victor Orta plus I agree with most of what you say Rambo, I'm nearly 70 and would have loved to see Leeds competitive again at the top table.
