Talking of Bamford being most paid for a player since Fowler. Those figures mean nothing. What you got for 6 million 20 years ago and what you get today have no comparison. And facts remain we have invested very little this transfer window.

Doesn’t really matter how much we have invested, have we bought in better players, have we moved players on, do we have a plan and the real proof, how are we going to play on the pitch and throughout the season. Let’s see!

I read a quote from Mark Hughes a couple of seasons ago that still resonates with me, it went something like this 'It isn't about how much you spend in a transfer window, it is about are you better at the end of it than at the start'. And with the additional of a Championship Winning standard LB, a Championship player of the season (albeit a few years ago) standard Striker and then 3 young lads from TOP teams and the removal of some dross I think we are in better shape. OK, keeping RV would be nice but I didn't have him in my first XI and 7 million is 7 million. So, I'm happy with the investment made so far and remain positive. Also I think a couple more loans will come in yet too.

Bob on! Spanish and Shutty! We are better than we were, so have moved forwards, something we haven't been able to say for many years.
