It sounds like I am the only one, but I would rather us wait and get 2 or 3 signings who will effect the first team rather than repeat the debacle of last season where we buy a full team of players who end up warming the bench (or worse) . In my eyes, at the minute no signings is better than bad signings. If we start signing crap players then fair enough but I for one won't be slagging the management until the crap starts coming through the door. Imagine we spend a huge part of our budget on Vydra and then Mitrovic becomes available (who for me is a better player) but we are no longer in the market for a striker. As I say, probably just me and I am probably deluded but I live in hope. MOT.

Good post, I was under the impression that Bub had final say on who comes in and who doesn't? And, they have to want to be at Leeds more than he does

2.) 11 Jul 2018 14:16:14
Obviously noone wants crap coming through the door but we do need someone of quality in. Think we have every right to be frustrated if all we get are loanees. What happens if we do get promoted then they all go back to their clubs. We need to build a strong squad, yes i have no doubt young ones will come through but will it be enough in a long hard season, especially the way Bielsa plays. I have every faith in Bielsa to get the best out of every player and believe we will be playing good football next season. We do need 2 or 3 new players signed up to long term contracts especially a CB and striker.

3.) 11 Jul 2018 14:26:12
Defo don't think you're on your own with those thoughts Shutty. We cannot repeat last seasons recruitment model, and I think AL is also right, Bielsa only brings in players who will snap his hand off to wear the shirt, which is what we all expect as fans too. Still hopeful of 2-3 quality additions personally, even if season long loans.

Guys, no need to rush a managerial appointment. We need to make sure we get the right appointment. Do we need 5 or 6 new players? If you have just answered yes to that question then I hope you were not one of the 'Get PH out' brigade as he had to work with what he had. All of this rushing around and wanting quick fixes is why we are stagnating and not moving forward. Let's wait and make sure we get the right manager and then let him get the right few targets in. The fact we are not signing players before the new manager arrives is positive in my eyes. just saying. MOT

Totally agree Shutty on all aspects! As a few have said, this could be the most important appointment for years. We need to get it right!

2.) 11 Jun 2018 16:14:10
Shutt4, tell that to the new manger, he wants the squad back soon then they should be, talk about double standards, they can lose there time off, but his contract all about him, what about the players rights to time off, glad I don’t work for some of you bright sparks

3.) 11 Jun 2018 17:15:16
They already get more time off than I do, get them back early and beast them for a few weeks.

4.) 11 Jun 2018 17:26:13
Completely different arguments and perspective there whiteman. The players have a contract with the club and are employees. Bielsa hasn't signed a thing and answers to nobody ATM, he's reportedly happy with the financial package (which was your main point in a previous post) but wants to make sure he has what he needs to be successful which is completely fair. If he finally agrees what he needs is there and signs on the dotted line then he has every bit of a right to call them in early and get started with them. Quite confused as to why you'd be annoyed about that and think it's a bad thing? As shutt said, I think it's a good sign and I completely agree with what he said about stagnating and instant success!

5.) 11 Jun 2018 18:50:50
Absolutely, get them back ASAP, and make them bloody work for their ridiculous money, and the privilege of playing for this club. If it's true that this is one of Bielsa's demands, then I think it's fantastic. Shows he means business and wants as much time as possible to instill his tactics to the team, and educate them on what is required! My only exceptions would be Viera, who needs a few weeks, and obvs Pontus, given his WC commitments.

6.) 11 Jun 2018 21:14:49
All employees have rights, as we all do, just because he thinks it’s his right to short cut there holiday is not right, no matter how much they get paid, and I don’t see how that matters, anyway I an not annoyed about, but was replaying to a post. We all would like to have the money they get paid, they are on leave and should bit. He should come and start bringing in players we all know what’s needed and who needs to go. if he’s done his home work so will he.

7.) 11 Jun 2018 22:45:41
So you already dislike a proposed, potential, new manager, even tho he's not been appointed yet, based on media speculation, because he allegedly wants extra time with the players (only 7 days more) , to make sure they're up to speed with his ideas and style of play, which is all aimed, no doubt, at making the team more successful and effective from the start? For "workers rights"?

Brightwhite, where did I say that

We have pretty much the same starting XI (plus a couple of additions (Baker, Roberts) ) as last year where we had a disappointing year and finished Mid table. We also have a better manager now. Why are we suddenly doomed to relegation in so many eyes? I share frustrations but let's try to not overreact guys. MOT.

I like this post Kiwi. We have a starting XI stronger than last year and so far, as you say, we have got rid of some players not up to the grade. Now with the addition of a couple (or 3) purchases and a similar number of loans we will be in good shape (well on paper) . I am not one of those who is in despair as I still think there are many players out there who are/ will be available and we do not need to panic and be held to ransom. If they WANT to come to Leeds then great, if not then why overpay them. MOT.

mmmmmmmmm, football wise I think Gayle is a great fit, but I have always been under the impression he is a bit of a bad egg and could upset the apple cart, a bit of a Craig Bellamy type player, I'm not 100% convinced we need a player like that.

Guys, whoever comes in will not be given time, and that is what frustrates me. One day we might find out what a manager can do if given time, or even simply a second season [sigh. ]. Was PH the right man - we'll never know. Was TC the right man - we'll never know. There is a saying about a stupid man is one who never learns and does the same thing over and over again. Feel free to attack me if you want guys but I have kept quiet for too long watching the team I love descend further and further. I thought Radz was going to be a change and I was really excited a year ago when TC came in, but how quickly that can be taken away with all of the negativity and the need for a quick solution. MOT

I read a quote from Mark Hughes a couple of seasons ago that still resonates with me, it went something like this 'It isn't about how much you spend in a transfer window, it is about are you better at the end of it than at the start'. And with the additional of a Championship Winning standard LB, a Championship player of the season (albeit a few years ago) standard Striker and then 3 young lads from TOP teams and the removal of some dross I think we are in better shape. OK, keeping RV would be nice but I didn't have him in my first XI and 7 million is 7 million. So, I'm happy with the investment made so far and remain positive. Also I think a couple more loans will come in yet too.

The window isn't shut yet. I have a feeling we will have a couple more people come in still.

Great point about RV, i. e. if we were bidding 7 million for him would we be happy - probably not. I still think we will get 2 or 3 loan players once the window shuts and players are surplus to requirements at their parent club.
