Last minute signing of gnoto.
Jesse says not prem league ready.
Not sure an Italy international belongs in the u23 tbh. You'd think he would have to be in front of gelhardt.

Totally agree, full international and scored for Italy yet stick the lad in the u23’s! Seems strange.

You’d think if he was good enough to play v Germany then he’d be good enough for the likes of Bournemouth, Leicester, villa and the likes.

My interpretation is more that he ain’t ready to start, so don’t heap massive expectations on the lad. He will be on the bench once integrated. Really hope Joffy gets the nod to start next game.

Hope so bright.
It will be interesting how he develops.
But the potential is there to make a shed full of dough in 3 yrs time.

Maybe not the proven CF we all hoped for but the signing fits our model of buy cheap and young, nurture then sell on in a few years.
Backed into a corner by the chaos of yesterday, an Italian international isn’t a bad signing and preferably to Hwang or Diaz IMO.

I did wonder whether Jesse’s comments re him being one for the future and not Prem ready could in part have been aimed at FC Zurich, as part of the Club’s messaging over what was a realistic initial fee for the lad. Zurich seem to have wanted quite a lot more up front than we have reportedly paid - will the expectation that the additional money they had hoped for would be received through the add-ons agreed, as I suspect they’d have wanted the sell-on clause anyway given his international experience at such a young age. Time will tell how much first team impact he can have this seas and beyond, but even now the deal seems pretty decent when you just how much we may have had to pay for an 18 year-old who’d already got 4 caps and a goal for England.

He’s going to be a big player for us eventually, at 5 ft 5.

He looks a proper pocket rocket Corky! That low centre of balance will see him tear some big defences to pieces on the turn! That, plus he’s strong too!
