When we signed Nmecha out of the blue on a free, Bijol at a lower fee than expected and Bornau for a relatively small fee things looked fairly good. Ok, Gudmonson came for £10m but that wasn't to be unexpected for an established FB.
Sunderland, however, have made the decision to splash the cash and have already spent over £100m. It might turn out to be a waste of money but their view is you go in for the player you want, pay the fee with limited haggling and work on the basis that staying up will make it worth it financially.
We seem to be in a Trumpian situation that we want the deal more than the result. There can't be much between selling club's valuations and our offers. If we want the player maybe we should just pay the difference, get them signed and move on to the next one.
There were rumours that we had £120m plus to spend. To date we've spent 25%. Hopefully the remaining £90m are going to be spent fairly soon on the right players in the right positions.

The problem I can see dunes is loads of teams starting to mess Leeds about now I don’t know who s in charge of transfers but we are getting a right pasting at the moment, 1 one longstaff first of all was between 8/ 10 million now Leeds third offer is 10 million with 2 million add ons turned down again he’s not even with that Leeds got to walk away 2 nd Everton have had Harrison for 2 seasons on loan and the cheek of it now is they ll take him again but on a free yet Leeds paid 25/ 26 million for him 3 rd we got gasped by a small Sunderland team for 2 players that only Leeds were linked with come on its starting to be a bit tedious now like you ve said done well so far let’s not spoil it now pull out of longstaff deal or we ll be paying well over the odds get stach in if you want him buy him if they re saying 20 million you can’t offer 8 million no wonder teams are walking away from Leeds come on guys sort yourselves out.

So far Leeds are trying to get players on the cheap.
Instead of getting players who they should they are focusing on players near the end of their contract to wrangle a deal and even that’s not working!
I’m getting seriously worried now.

Same as me corkey, they have some kind of structure and will not pay over but how you going to stay in the premiership with that can’t be done I know we ten times bigger than Sunderland but they doing alright like we ve fancied stach for ages now but they report loads of teams in now they won’t take anything lower than20 million well in the first place his price was 13/ 17 million and also with longstaff Leeds have had 3 bids turned down last 1 being 12 million but he was supposed to be worth 8/ 10 Leeds must walk away from that he s not even worth that money and like I ve already said his he better than we ve got sorry but no I don’t know seriously what are we doing pre season started Monday just gone we got some friendly s coming up must be able to get players in to see were we are.

JH - re your point on Stach’s asking price. If indeed it has actually gone up, I don’t think Sunderland paying top dollar for Diarra and Sidiki will have helped, with selling clubs probably now even more likely to quote inflated prices to Prem teams, even newly promoted ones - there was already a perception that the high broadcasting deals over here made Prem teams fair game.

Yes alright there I totally agree but Leeds cannot get carried away and pay fortunes over the top, it’s like with longstaff, Newcastle wanted between 8/ 10 I heard that’s about fair but now upped their price price to 15 million, Leeds must walk away he didn’t play hardly any football last year, couldn’t get in team and is he better than we ve got amps or tanaka I doubt it pull out now there’s got to be better out there for 15 million, this is why we just must believe in the Leeds utd hierarchy.

He’s literally a nobody! No idea get him back in the academy and employ someone with decent contacts decent knowledge and an understanding of how to close a deal…. If we sign anyone of worth I will revoke my comment.
