Could just be Spanish paper talk again, or Deco spinning again in an attempt to turn supporters against Raphinha so the Club feel forced to sell to Barcelona for a lowball fee or the required fee but on some ridiculous installments basis.

Reported on various Leeds United YouTube blogs that Bayern have refused to accept instalments from Brokealona for Lewandowski because they ( perhaps a tad tongue in cheek) don't think Barcelona will exist in 2 or 3 years time.

Honestly don’t feel there is any truth in this. More likely to me that he’s been told to stay away by the club. Let him stay in Ibiza and fatten himself up a bit for the snakes at Barca!

Brighty - you may well be right in that. Raphinha”s head is going to be all over the place at the moment - it would seem evident that Raphinha has dreamt of playing for Barcelona for a long time, given that is where his long-time friend and idol Ronaldinho, and other Brazil legends, played previously. Obviously Deco has promised that it would be possible for him to move there this summer, presumably failing to tell him that they were totally broke. Now he’s left with the dilemma of what to do. It’s quite evident that our Club is happy to let him leave (given we’ve accepted Chelsea’s bid) and Raphinha will be aware that his sale will make it easier for us to complete the necessary squad rebuild. He will also want to ensure that wherever he’s playing he’ll get the opportunity to play enough to keep his Brazil spot for Qatar etc.
The Club may well judge that it’s better to have preseason preparations based on players we expect to be with us next season, rather than include a slightly unfocused Raphinha who may not be with us. It would seem he’s doing training work wherever he is, to be in decent shape for the beginning of the season, rather than put his pre-Brazil minutes in any jeopardy. If he does end up staying, he will have had opportunity to make peace with his current situation and get his head professionally focused again, and will be in decent physical shape. If he does get on the plane to Oz, the whole trip would be overshadowed by the media circus around him.

Baz - John Smith doesn’t sound particularly Yorkshire (despite the Tadcaster brewery) - more generic English. Sticking with brewers’ names, Joshua Tetley is far more Yorkshire (even though the beer isn’t any more) , or Robert/ Thomas Theakston.
