L’Equipe supposedly reporting that we’ve approached Bordeaux for forward Alberth Elis. We could possibly take this with a pinch of salt, as why would be approach that club when he’s actually only on loan there, from Portuguese side Boavista.
We may be being linked with Elis, a Honduras international with nickname La Panterita (the Little Panther) because he’s another forward who has shone in the MLS - with Houston Dynamo. That said, he would seem to be quite decent - though only 6 foot, it looks like he’s good in the air, strong enough to hold the ball up well, is quite rapid and can finish, and consequently draws quite a lot of fouls, rather like Saint-Maximin does. Brighton and Witford were supposedly interested in him last summer. Has played right and left wing and centrally.

Our last Honduran signing - who (very) briefly promised much, but sadly didn’t deliver- he would appear to be significantly so - which isn’t that difficult really.

Bordeaux have an option to buy so it is thought that they would purchase him and then immediately sell on for a profit - hence the offer going to the French club.
