McGurk transfer done. Also James Debayo, England U-15 international defender from Watford joins our academy. Rumours that Kiko will be joining a La Liga club on season long loan next week. That'll make room for Emi as Meslier understudy 😆.

One can always dream George 😂😂.

Yes Whack, it’s probably what Emi dreams about every night - the chance of working with Bielsa at Leeds.

If they love him so much why do u not have a bunch of Argentinian’s in your squad? I don’t buy into the thinking that MB could make him a better keeper, Mellier is naturally talented, kiko is not and that’s why he got the chop. however there is no doubting that MB could make outfield players better and his system/ style is very good.

Whack - the reason there aren’t lots of Argentinians in our squad is because we haven’t gone in for them. We only go for those players who fill a current squad requirement, with the attributes Bielsa requires wants and are felt to be good value in the current market. A few examples might help your understanding here. We could have gone for Buendia, but didn't as we don’t need anyone in that position, and he was overpriced, particularly for a player who would only have been a backup. We could have gone for Martinez but he was seeking a move from the Gunners to become first choice keeper, and we were backing Meslier for that position. We may or may not have enquired about Rodrigo De Paul, he was rumoured to want the move, but the asking price would have been too high.

I see where your coming from mate I do and it’s a good business plan, I guess the point I’m making is that if the most important thing for these players would be getting the chance to play under someone like MB so in theory they would accept smaller wages making the deals more sustainable and suiting your structure, but in reality all these players care about is money at the end of the day (with a small number of exceptions) hence why 99% of players will choose the club offering the most money and the only time the manager will affect the players decision between 2 clubs is if both packages are pretty similar. It’s my thinking that they work off a list in their head kind of thing…
1. Money
2. Chance of winning trophies
3. Regular starts
4. League/ location
5. Possibly the manager/ playing style
I think maybe 2 and 3 could swap places in some instances as some players happy to play bit part roles, I’m interested to see your thinking on that list, or add in a couple more things to the equation but I don’t think money will not be on anyone’s number 1, I’m not talking about the likes of Philips for example staying loyal to the club he grew up at, the scenario is 2 clubs attempting to buy a certain player, what do u guys think?

I agree with 1 and 2 but if there is a decent manager like Pep, Klopp or Bielsa I think manager would be third. If its a run of the mill manager then yes I agree very low priority.
