There's a lot of anger directed at players who jumped ship after relegation because the "allegedly" switched on recruitment team agreed to these clauses being inserted in their contracts.
Some have gone for a fee and some have come back and made no impact.
Aaronson returned to face the music and although he didn't have the greatest of seasons there was no doubting his commitment.
If you drill down all these problems have been caused by the totally inept contract negotiations that occurred under previous administrations.
Hopefully we have learnt a lesson.

The loan clauses were a bad idea but most of them were coupled with up to a 60% wage reduction if relegated so there was a little sense behind the madness
Let’s face it though, most of those players were crap anyhow.
I wouldn’t be surprised right now if there are some of our players agents pushing for loan clauses if we get relegated.
There are so many clauses in players contracts these days it’s pretty mind boggling and the reason why some contracts take so long to get them over the line.

Quiet possibly some of worst players we ever had, horrific waste of money.

Paul Okon esque players, even!?

Good post Dunelm, for me it’s cause and effect.
Whilst the inept back office administration team are responsible for the contracts, and the cause of the issue, it only becomes an issue, when the rat cannot get of the sinking ship fast enough.
Now for the avoidance of doubt, if I was in their shoes with a family to support and the promise of staying on the sane money, would I have left? Possibly.
Possibly if the missus insisted, but as a Leeds United supporter we’re not interested in legacy contracts, or whether ‘allegedly’ their national coach has said they must move to play at the next tournament, we just find it incomprehensible that any player who let's be Frank has failed previously resulting in our relegation was not willing to stay and fight for the shirt.
It needn’t make any sense for me, it may seem irrational, but for me all leavers are rats (BA try’s his heart out and seems a nice lad) and they will always be rats and personally, I never wanted any of them back and hope JH buggers off very soon.

Call me optimistic but I can see Harrison coming good under Farke + the team behind the scenes. We have seen almost all players improve greatly under Farke and those that have improved are like different people.
I've no doubt he can bring out the latent talent in Harrison, because he does have some.
The club we are today are not the club that Harrison left. Maybe he was as sick as the old lot as we were?

Agree CC.

Dunelm you are bang on, but how the hell anyone thought BA was worth 28 million is completely beyond me, his commitment and energy levels were terrific but his contribution as a 10 were shocking.

You may be right on that Mo. DF did work wonders with DJ, after all.

JH's stats were not bad during the three seasons in the Premiership. 21 goals in 107 games so did have some talent.
He is a divisive figure but if Farke has taken him to Stockholm and the training camp he's decided to either reintegrate him into the squad or at least have a good look at him to see if he has anything to offer. If that is the case it won't please a lot of fans but DF is very much a pragmatist.

Dunelm - my thoughts (which could be wrong) are that Farke may have taken Mes and JH to Stockholm and then Germany because they have potential sale value, which would be reduced if he came out and said they weren’t in his plans. If, while on tour, either player shows a significant uptick in performance and mentality, there could be a place for them in the squad. Conversely Bamford has no real resale value due to age, injury history and massive wage, so nothing to be gained from taking him on tour and the latter two factors mean the Club can’t afford to consider keeping him in the squad.

plus JH is on 90k a week - that's a lot of money to be writing off for the next 3 years so if we can get a tune out of him then we probably should.

Cluey bro! You used the word "uptick"! In my mind that's a 3 day posting ban for breaching the code of English! ??.
