Good player by all accounts - just before my time.
I'm sure he was capped by England the year before the 66 World Cup but unfortunately didn't make the final squad. Bound to be others on here who can correct me?

He was injured before th 66 World Cup could well have made the squad he had a few caps at the time.

Got to be honest and say name doesn’t ring a bell for me, now on the plus side, I may be far too young or looking towards the current Mrs Class perspective I can’t remember my own name of late.

Alan made around 60 appearances for Leeds and scored 27 goals. He also won 6 England caps. His career was ended at the age of 30 by injury.

Cleggy, he had 218 games for Boro' scoring 125 goals and in his 6 England appearances he got 3 goals. So a great scoring record throughout his career.
