Hello All,
I hope everyone is good. I haven't posted for a little while.
I'm really excited about the new season and our next premier league era. I'm checking and following transfer updates on an hourly basis, probably like most of you!
Something I don't really understand is the financial fair play rules, It just confuses me. Although, I do appreciate that Leeds need to be careful and I actually like the 49ers approach to transfers.
Something that does pee me off is when I keep reading about ManU, Liv, Chels etc spending 65 million on a player, another 50+ mil on another player. I thought these clubs (especially ManU) were in an equally tight financial position, so I don't see how they can keep getting away with spending so much. It just widens the gap between them and the rest of the league and inflates the crazy transfer value even more.
To be totally honest, from a Leeds perspective, if we can unearth a few more Ao Tanaka's for a decent price tag, I'd be very happy. I'd rather we signed quality players with potential than an over-priced prima-donna who thinks he's bigger than the club.
Keep going Farke and the 49ers, in you with trust.

Should have said 'keep going Farke and the 49ers, you in WE trust'

Go on Danny; correct the last bit again!
Seriously tho, you keep disappearing and coming back with great posts! Totally agree and I've been thinking the same particularly re Chel and Redsox. The former having just blown the Saudi barcodes out of the water on Pedro, and yet their squad consists of 172 players on a min wage of 327mill per 1/ 2 day! How does that work? ??.

Cheers BrighWite. I'm not a regular poster but do read the forum most days. I keep telling myself that I should post more often but then forget.
We can only hope that the likes of ManU and Chels one day live to regret the crazy spending. We all know though that if it were Leeds we'd be condemned on the spot.
A transfer limit and wage cap is desperately needed but will probably never happen. Sadly, I think the authorities need to draw a line in the sand on what has gone before. You are never going to be able to punish the likes of Man City for example as they'll just keep using their wealth to fight it with legal action.
Why not just say that no team can spend more than 100 million per season on transfers with a wage cap no bigger than X amount. It would be a completely different game after a few seasons and would give other teams a change to develop and compete. I can only dream.

The current rules are I believe that you can’t go more in debt over three seasons than 105 Mil.
I could agree in principle to draw a line in the sand and forget the Man City and Chelsea overspending.
The problem is clubs lawyers are constantly searching for loopholes in the rules and I do believe that they are smarter than the rule makers.
I’m not sure there’s an answer to this type of cheating but I do believe they should continue with refining the PSR and not throw it in the bin.
If that happens then it will be the end of the Premiership as we know it and I will pave the way to an elite club league. Basically the clubs that have the most money will be in it!
Maybe that’s inevitable, who knows?

From what I've just read, Chelsea income has been boosted by roughly 200m, thro both the CWC and CL qualification, and excludes any upsides from potential sales. What is it they say about the rich getting richer? ??.
