This is not what you'd call an exact science and please don't put any money on it but I always go with my gut feel when I first look at the new seasons fixture list (and I'm usually fairly accurate - God knows how? ) .
And looking at this forthcoming season my guts are telling me that we'll be okay. Might be a case of win one, draw one, lose one or two and we will have one or two months when points will be scarce but we will have other periods when we will pick up more than enough to survive.
Lower half but comfortable:)

heard it here first. fixtures do play a part imo. Forest wouldn't have done as well last season without their easy start and Wolves who had a shocking start would probably have fared better than they did otherwise.
Good to get Arsenal and Toon out of the way early as we acclimatise (unless those two are absolute disasters) as those are probably losses anyway.

We play everybody twice.
We go on a run
We hit bad form
We have injuries and we don’t.
We have suspensions and we don’t.
We have a new manager and we don’t.
We recruit well or we don’t.
So many variables.

If we're doing predictions, mine is 10th finish.
Good start, dodgy middle, massive purchases in January, clean up at the end.
I do have a history of being wrong though, I predicted we would finish last season 6 point clear at the top!

I think our first two home games are reasonable, definitely not easy games, but very winnable and will hopefully boost the confidence. The fixtures always look daunting at first glance, but I think we will be ok. I actually think the usual suspects, despite good season last, will be “down there, ” Forest tailed off at the end and will also have Europe to contend with, as will Palace.
I predict, we will have 3 or 4 places to spare…. hopefully.
